That amp sounds amazing. Great demo. I’ve got a Z-Lux and have loved it since day 1. Best amp I’ve ever owned and I’ve had a lot of classic Fenders and Marshall’s. This will probably be the next Z for me.
I saw this video when it first came out. Then I watched it again and again and again. Then I ordered the amp and it arrived last week. I Love it! Thanks for the Demo, job well done!
Great sounding amp! Love the vibe....making my Tweed Deluxe nervous 😬 As always, Dr Z amps have an amazing clarity. this amp has fantastic sag, and that master volume kills it! Loved both guitars in it, but the Tele...wow
Couldn't have said it better on the entire Dr Z ethos, amp, quality, price (great tone!) from amps that are simple to navigate. Like reverend guitars, VVT amps, fulltone, etc....their latest is usually their best. ...the Palir gtr sounds fantastic btw!
I think Humbucker and Sweetwater and all the other DR. Z dealers just got a lot of orders for the Nova. This was a great demo of the amp. I am sure this is the next Dr. Z amp for me!
Fantastic demo and tone. Really difficult to find 1-channel amps with master and gain range that smoothly goes from clean to scream. For the tone I love, most amp’s clean channels are too clean, and the OD channel is too dirty, even at lowest gain. Really cool amp!
Hey Lance, great video thank you I have a question for you now that you’ve had an opportunity to play both the nova and the Z master, which of the two do you prefer? How about the z/28-2? Thx!! Zach
man, i know it's a 4 year old vid, but i'd love to see the signal chain on this thing? the sound is superb, such that i credit the production in addition to the amp. what gives? how'd you process it? what'd you do in post? did you pan the ambiance off to the right side?
To all the complaints about the price, these are for both "blues lawyers" with more money than sense, but also working musicians who need to cart these things around every day and night. Try that with a PCB based Peavey, Fender, whatever. It won't last very long. Hand wiring takes a lot more time and labor in the USA, as opposed to Chinese-made, mass-produced, cheaply made amp. Buy what you want.
Very Nice amp but $2,300.00 bucks is very pricey The speaker in it is $150 There are just so many great amps on the market now for way under a grand that sound just as good. Just my 2 cents. But for those that want to dish out the bucks, more power to you! Rock on!
if you have played a dr. z and seen the design layout I doubt you would question that. This is an all out custom amp thats has been meticulously designed. it's not designed with budget in mind, rather tone. cheers.
@Dave Merlin. There are so many factors that go into determining cost of an amp. The speaker being $150 is moot. An amp is the sum of all it's parts, put together in a way specifically conceived by the builder. Have you played a Z? I don't even mean sitting in a store, but on a loud stage with a full band? They punch. More than that, they are tanks, and good doc himself will stand behind his products. These are professional pieces, built for people who play for money.

J Great you put any pedals into it? Fuzz?
Excellent demo. Really shows off the tones of the Amp. Bravo!
Thank you!!
crazy how good this sounds with both humbuckers *and* single coils. It's the rare amp that can have such presence with both pickup types
That's a terrific walk though the amp and it's features. Thanks much.
I own three Dr. Zs. This is probably going to be four. Great review from an even greater guitarist.
Wich ones do you have? I'm looking into dr. Z Amps for home use. Do you recommend one?
Lance makes every amp sound amazing!
Very impressive tone and great playing. I love this thing
Great sounding amp! Love the vibe....making my Tweed Deluxe nervous 😬 As always, Dr Z amps have an amazing clarity. this amp has fantastic sag, and that master volume kills it! Loved both guitars in it, but the Tele...wow
Lance’s playing is so tasteful and classy. Love it!
That tele (Whitfill) through that Dr. Z Nova are a combination made in heaven .. i could write an album just using them !
Couldn't have said it better on the entire Dr Z ethos, amp, quality, price (great tone!) from amps that are simple to navigate. Like reverend guitars, VVT amps, fulltone, etc....their latest is usually their best. ...the Palir gtr sounds fantastic btw!
Best review. Super helpful and tasty playing.
Holy moly that sounds good!
But then you expect that from both Lance and the Dr.
Wow, that's some special tone
I owned a Galaxie years ago, the Nova seems like a refined take on that Original Design.
You did your job Lance, i want one.

Glad to see some more of these vids Lance. Don't know if my feed just hasn't shown them or what but glad to see you back.
WOW sounds great! Playing not to shabby. Great Job!

I hope their giving you one of those amps or something for doing this vid because you really show that thing off. Made me want one. Good job.
that's some spicy tone right there
Cool , very usable amp! Also nice sounding Broadcaster copy!
Tempting amp ... nice demo, Lance.
Damn, there's some great tone there.
Nice sounding amp!!

can the clean tone cover a lot of jazzy and clean blues, rock stuff? or would the z plus be better ?
This or the Carr Mercury V?
Anyone know the name of the melody Lance plays for the intro & outro ??

very sweet !!!
is this amp loud enough to play with a live rock band???
32 watts tube is loud enough to cause hearing damage. Literally any 30 watt and above tube amp is painfully loud (in a good way).
just as I think I'm settle with all the gear I need, bang! this come out, have to convince my partner that I must have it lol
What is the time on your delay?
Lance,
What is that wicked good delay?
Hey Lance, what's that Tele/Gibson hybrid behind ya? Looks sweet!
sounds awesome. loud enough for a band?
Yeah it is.. plenty
Steven Scholten 32 dr z watts no problem!
What kind of “Tele” esquire are you playing? Thanks
Who is lance keltner?
Can it rock n roll at family volumes? I tried a Max 18 it was loud
Yeah the master is really good on the amp.
Sounds a little too over driven without the air pushing fat crunch!
Sounds like a Lotta cash for a bare bones tube with a built in fuzzface.

It's handwired in the U.S. If you want a cheaper pricepoint, go buy a Mexican Fender amp. These amp companies need to make a profit too.

Yep, boutique amp for a boutique price... Nothing to see here.
