- I had a feeling there might be something good hiding in the ground back there. I went to the old swimming hole today to do some metal detecting for a short dig. This is an old New England farm but also a place where people go swimming. I had not been to the rock wall at the back of the spot so I fought through the brush, down trees and wetlands to get to this one open spot . Amongst the trash there were coins in the ground and some silver. Finding old coins metal detecting is not always so common so today was good day. I had only gone there because my plan A fell through. Well that worked out.

Charlie, what do you do about the ticks???
I use Ecosmart Insect repellent on myself and blk lab. 6oz $5-6 bucks last multi purchase.
No tick on me yet and I detect the edges and brush and we have ticks everywhere.
Occasionally on Sally as she sniffs everything and I may have not sprayed her well enough.
Safe for kids and pets.
Using for 12+ years so far and it is worth it vs chemical bombs.
Natures Good Guys sells nematode spray which eliminates ticks from where they come, the ground level.
I do not need to spray Sally around the garden and house and it works for years, as it is alive.
Was a tick festival out back until I sprayed the Hb+Sc+Sf mix.
The mix also eliminated several garden vegetable predators.
