Historians assume Japan was going to surrender by the end of 1945 .But for marines fighting on Iwo jima and Okinawa, they will tell you that was false .The Japanese we're going to fight for a defensive struggle, a bloodbath for both sides , hoping for better surrender terms .It was futile, but the Japanese military was controlling Japan . America had no choice, but to use everything in our arsenal, to end it in August, not waiting another day .Does any one think they Japan or Germany would not have used Atomic bombs on us , if they had them ? Exactly !!!!
