I wonder how do you make those bended lines smoother and more even? Do you just hold the pen still on the tablet and it happens automatically or is it something you can change with photoshop? I'm drawing too and would like to have this "hack" 😁
I love this because I don’t like my lineart and kinda wanna get rid of it so this really helped

I mean, in a way you still have your lineart it just looks so much better and blends into the illustration more
bro you don't even need defined lineart i don't even use it traditionally i just go straight in with my colored pencils after a sketch. especially with digital art, i guess it depends what you're going for though

Great video, loved that you guide us through the process with valuable tips and techniques. There are too many creators that basically just post a speed paint video with background music which, to be frank, are quite useless despite being nice drawings. Your voice over is 100!

Something I just recently learnt is that you can create a clipping mask and it’s basically the same as alphalock but you have a different layer and I think that’s really cool cause you don’t have to draw on the layer underneath and by that you can still changes parts of that

really curious about how you designed your signature for your art, any tips for a beginning artist?
As you go along your learning process, you'll pick up on detail from everywhere and will chose which ones to place on your art. You can't know what exactly you want on your art if you haven't explored around enough.
To put an example: An experienced artist has seen A LOT of things. Let's say they want to draw a cute girl. So they add soft texture to the skin, make the eyes sparkle, add blush to her nose and cheeks, shoulders, and knees. They add shine to her hair and put a cute crop top with light purple sweats and big pink shoes on her. *Voila!* A cute girl. Now, because the artist has seen many details over their years of experience (like the shine on the hair, colors, clothing outfits, blush), they are able to apply this with ease. It is what THEY WANT to add from the info they've collected over the years AND they KNOW how to apply it.
Okay, now let's add a beginner artists and they, TOO, want to draw a cute girl. First of all, they're probably struggling with poses and anatomy already (which is normal). The anatomy is one of the many factors of an art style, that said, the beginner artists is going to struggle creating the style they want. Not only that, but they haven't seen and practiced enough to know that you could add blush to the shoulder, shine to the hair etc. So their picture comes out bland AND EVEN IF they DO know that they could add many details, they still need to know how to apply them (blending the skin with the blush, knowing how to shade, applying glitter to the eyes etc.).
A beginner artist's art style will always be changing since they are still experimenting on the info they're collecting throughout their early learning stages.
As a person who's gone through these stages already and had the same question as you before, the best advice I can give you is to practice on the fundamentals like anatomy (muscles/skeleton), foreshortening, angles, texture, shading, and flow. Don't worry about and art style, you'll get that eventually. You may not see it right now since you're barely beginning, but you'll get what I mean once you've learned the fundamentals lol
PS: BE. PATIENT. You won't get all this overnight, no artist has ever.

Hi I’m attempting the overlay trick I put the layer of my background colour at the bottom my layer in the middle, line art on top, but when I start coloring in likethe video did, the color goes over my line art and the lines won't show Ip, any idea of how to fix this?

kookie_why do you have Afterpay available to you where you are? This was the only way I was able to get one as I’m a single mum so life is tight sometimes haha. Tried this technique but I'm running into the issue of when I try to enhance my shadows or use a different color on top it ends up not looking good at all.
