14:44 that was more of a S1 thing. According to the writers, in S2, the approach was that these universes were different from the get-go. So it's not "one thing has changed, so everything before that one thing would've happened the same way" anymore. But rather, these are all different universes that diverged long before the "main what if premise"
Everybody thinks they could have pulled the shield trick the whole time, but the only reason Ronin was willing to come through before it was completely open was because he was expecting this and didn't suspect a trap. Any other time, he would have waited, and then the closing wouldn't have caught his ship.
Blade Runner 2049 + Cyberpunk 2077 = Cyber Cop Nebula 4126! Even though Guardians has wrapped up, I hope we get more of Nebula in the MCU in the future, especially in What If. Karen Gillan is just so perfect in that role. We love both Karen and Nebula too much to say goodbye to her in GOTG Vol 3.
I loved this one. Nebula as a Noir detective fits... way better than it really should. It really helps that in Guardians 3, we get to see her... honestly being a good guy and a leader within a community. It makes this episode feel way more plausible.
How did they forget Korg?! He's literally MADE of rock! Korg is the rock of the group! I didn't understand the paper and scissors part until Eric pointed it out, but how did they forget Korg when he's probably the most memorable?!
i've watched many reactions to this episode already and it's about damn time a reaction crew paid some attention to the cleverness of the rock, paper, scissors reference
16:10 Ego was able to track down Peter because he had held the power stone. Without the events forming the Guardians of the Galaxy, he never did, and Ego never found him. Furthermore, Ego had hundred of children, none of which had his spark, so if Peter hadn't held the infinity stone, Ego wouldn't know he had it and probably assumed he didn't and wasn't worth the trouble of tracking down. After all, in 20 years, he never even bother to track down Yondu and ask where Peter was.
I think that it is always more than one thing changed in these universes, the ground state has to change to enable Howard the Duck to have not been in the possession of the Collector, not something tied to by simply eliminating Thanos. Yon Rogg is there why?
I think What If is the most underrated Marvel Disney Plus series so I’m really glad to see that they aren’t giving up on this. And man this episode already really showed how much they upped the quality for this new season. Everything about this episode is what the What If series should be. This was definitely an improvement over most of the episodes in season one. As a whole, I just really enjoyed this episode. I loved the story, the score, the animation, the cinematography and I really loved the Blade Runner/Noir style theme they went for with this. I also really loved all the characters involved, I’m just really happy that we got to get a Nebula focused story in which we got to see her use her abilities and skill set to her fullest potential and feel so much more of what her character is and what it would be like specifically if she were on her own. Also, Howard the Duck was perfect in this, he was just hilarious. It was also really cool and funny to get to see Korg, Groot and Miek working alongside them, and their nickname being Rock, Paper, Scissors is so funny it’s just perfect.
Why do people (including Eric here) keep saying this show isn't canon. It is canon, it's just not set in the 616 (Sacred Timeline) Universe. The MCU is a multiverse now, all of it is canon. We just have to keep in mind there are infinite variants co-existing across the infinte multiverse, just like in the comics.
Visually, this season is a masterpiece! Wasn't too thrilled with bringing back so much from the first season, but it was definitely a win for Marvel right now. Especially since Echo didn't get the best of reviews
How did they forget Korg?! He's literally MADE of rock! Korg is the rock of the group! I didn't understand the paper and scissors part until Eric pointed it out, but how did they forget Korg when he's probably the most memorable?!
It sucks that the MCU doesn’t keep any of there villains around lol like Ronin would have been cool to see in other things cool to see him in this again & the art this episode was 🔥
Not a fan of Blade Runner, but this was still a good start to the season. They captured that detective noir feel so well and Karen Gillan’s raspy voice fits so well with the disgruntled detective role.
Did you know this show costs almost ten times the amount that Arcane did? You can really see the budget in the quality animation and models, and stories
This season of What If shows how to do female leads right. No whining about how hard it is to be a woman, no cartoonishly sexist men, and the heroine has to work for her victory.

I love that Nebula got her own episode! She was a great but underrated hero in the MCU. And her bring cop makes total sense

8:06 We _all_ run on electricity, Eric.

I can see them appearing in the next two avengers movies.
I really loved the vibe of this whole episode! I also loved seeing Nebula in this type of setting! She was awesome the entire episode!
It's ironic Aaron doesn't think it's a big deal when this is effectively COVID lockdown, just on a bigger scale. Plenty of us went nutty, lol.
I thought the whole isolation thing was a reference to Covid. How people were suddenly isolated from what we were used to and other people

Howard the Duck really gets a chance to shine in this episode. Wonder if the MCU is going to add him into more stories?
Probably not, because he is so damn ridiculous.
Guys.... Rock is Korg c'mon now
not sure if this is a Drax-level whoosh or you're also playing along >_

So glad there finally reacting to this season. Cant wait to see them watch the future episodes!!

I love y’all but Calvin is the BEST! His reactions are informative & entertaining AF!
It felt like they got more of the actual actors to do the voices for this season
YAY! Echo and What If? Dropping right at the same time

I think there was actually a Captain Marvel prequel book where Yon Rogg went on a mission to Xandar? Though I agree with your general point.
Yeah, the "what if premise" isn't the one thing that changed. The universes these episodes are set in are different from the beginning.
Interesting first episode,Nebula would make a great detective and her team up with Howard and Korg was fun :)

Everything isn't "What If..." from the timeline you're familiar with. It could be "What if" from an alternative timeline. Cool?
I love that they got most of the actors to reprise their voice, except some of the main og avengers😁

effing finally! Been waiting since release of the series for you guys to react to it.
I have been looking forward for this reaction

1980's Avengers
Wow, I didn't even get the quack was supposed to be like a laugh (if that's true) until Calvin pointed it out!
Same, except I saw this comment and was listening for it and it still got me.
Miek is Scissors, Groot is Paper and Korg is Rock, come on Eric.
8:04 RODNEY KING! RODNEY KING! Rodney King? Adam Sandler: he’s that guy
Whoo, been waiting for this reaction!
These are going to be 9 EPIC reactions!!!
Can’t wait for your reactions to 80s avengers and 1602
I really enjoy seeing the alternate takes that What If allows for and IMO this season was better than the first

just about to say this lmao
It really went over your heads, huh!
Judge dredd feel for me. 😊 loved it.
Blade runner marvel edition
I need season 3. . .
It sucks that the MCU doesn’t keep any of there villains around lol like Ronin would have been cool to see in other things cool to see him in this again & the art this episode was 🔥
It also sucks and people still confuse there, their and they're. This is 2nd grade grammar.
I kinda wonder what else has happened outside the shield of the planet.
Rip Mary Poppins
So glad y’all are starting these marvel shows, they both rule
Yes finally!
Marvel what if episode 2😊
There should be a Star Wars what if
What if... the prequels/sequels didn't suck?
I saw something about a Star Wars What If recently, but it was Instagram so idk if it was real or not
It's called Visions. That's as close as you're going to get
rock would be Korg.

Was really hoping you'd mirror the release schedule and do a daily upload :(
That's what most other reactors I follow did.

@@Lonely-Marshmallow you do realize this show is on the shittier side of the shows they are watching, right?

Kinda dissapointed in S2 tbh.
The 1st episode of this season is definitely the weakest (at least to me) but the rest are amazing
This was my least favorite one of the season, but I enjoyed it more the 2nd time around.

No need, since you're cartoonishly sexist enough.
