Hello lovely people, I recorded this video a day after completing a 24 hour livestream so... I realise I am not at my most eloquent here :3 I hope you enjoy all the same!
Speaking of livestreams, I'll be raising money all month over on Twitch for Mermaids, the UK charity supporting LGBTQ+ youth! They do fantastic work, consider popping by for a stream or just sending a little donation. If you donate over £35, you get a bundle of 86 games!

One thing you did miss was the dig at Haeckel specifically, accusing him of scientific fraud. That's not a fair accusation - and, even if it was, subsequent research (including MRI scans of embryos) has shown him to have been essentially right.
For funsies, I'll also note that Charlie 'all-forehead, no brain' Kirk was caught out arguing that a dolphin embryo was 'fully human' by Ben Gleib not that long ago.

Did someone seriously remove my comment, and label it as so-called "hate speech"?! Bahahahahaha! What are you, a 5 year old?!
Oh, how will you be able to stand on the day of judgement then for "supporting" the sins of lgbtq+, if you can't even handle the truth right now?
If you can't handle the FACT that the lgbtq+ cult is rife with mental illnesses, and has a trail of destruction and death behind it, then you need to GROW UP, AND WAKE UP TO REALITY!
Lgbtq+ people DON'T need "support" to affirm their mental illnesses, THEY NEED HELP, AND FREEDOM OUT OF THE CESSPIT OF lgbtq+, otherwise DEATH awaits them, just like all the other lgbtq+ people who have lost their lives!
But it's clear the lgbtq+ cult doesn't remotely care, and simply wants everyone who joins their cult to DIE, so they can make money!
The lgbtq+ cult is a cult of VILE HATRED, and it NEEDS TO BE BANNED before more lives are lost!
You're not helping anyone by "supporting" them in their fantasies, and perversions! YOU'RE SUPPORTING THEM TO THE GRAVE!
One day you'll have to give an account of your life, and every sin you've ever committed.
Deleting my comments and childishly marking them as so-called "hate speech" like a 5 year old, doesn't change the FACT that lgbtq+ IS WRONG!
Don't like the truth? WELL TOUGH!
There is a way out however; Repent, and believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ to be set free from the bondage of sin and lgbtq+.

      RACISM
The 2 DAUGHTERS GET THEIR father drunk and f him
What is this j author trying to tell us?
What are the j people trying to tell us?
      Genesis 19:30 KING JAMES VERSION
And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters. {19:31} And the firstborn said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in unto us after the manner of all the earth: {19:32} Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father. {19:33} And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose. {19:34} And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father. {19:35} And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose. {19:36} Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father. {19:37} And the firstborn bare a son, and called his name Moab: the same is the father of the Moabites unto this day. {19:38} And the younger, she also bare a son, and called his name Benammi: the same is the father of the children of Ammon unto this day.
^^^^^The above story tells us that the first daughter gets her father drunk and then f him. Exactly, how does a drunk man get an pop the wheely and expel the juice and not know what happened?
So, the 2 ladies get pregnant and have male children. One is called Moab, which starts up the Moabite tribe. The other kid is Benammi and he starts up the Ammon tribe. Both the Moabite tribe and Ammon tribe are hated by the j people. This is their way of saying that their grandmothers have no morals and by extension, they don't as well.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Moab: the same is the father of the Moabites unto this day.

One time I was in an online discussion with a creationist who was blaming "Darwinism" for the Holocaust. I pointed out that scientists will happily explain that evolution is merely a description of what we see in nature, not a PREscription for how we should treat other people, whereas Nazis tried to use "survival of the fittest," and specifically extinctions, as a justification for genocide. Given that extinctions are, in fact, real, I asked him why he was agreeing with the Nazis who said genocide was scientific instead of agreeing with scientists who say genocide is wrong. 🤯

    • @ShintogaDeathAngel
      @ShintogaDeathAngel 17 днів тому

I don’t see eugenics (the actual root cause of the holocaust) as a legitimate part of evolution, it involves too much choice and, crucially, prejudice. If anything it’s closer to selective breeding. Organisms still change over time but it’s within artificial constructs, rather than responding to selection pressures which can be random and unpredictable/spontaneous. Also the consequence of being “unfit” isn’t necessarily death and/or failure to pass genes on in this scenario, although knowing the nazis it probably would have been.

this, absolutely. They today are the offspring of the reaction against Darwin. Pre Darwin there was no debate and in fact many key theologians in church history explicitly did not assume early genesis to be literal. However since those who began to insist on 6 day literal creation in response to Darwin needed to give a different version to natural selection, they became more and more entrenched in the idea that only a literal reading of the Bible can be true.
They then effectively painted themselves into a corner by making the literal creation story a litmus test of whether the Bible is true or not. Thus their belief in Jesus as described in the Bible depends on believing all parts of the Bible are literal. Which works against them because any other view of Genesis means rejecting the whole of the faith. Yet critical thinking has to lead to rejecting the literal creation in favour of a poetic tale to explain the world and its flaws.
Thus those brought up in this extreme literalist are likely to walk from faith as their walk from literalism. This makes the literalists more desperate and so willing to fund AIG and The Ark Encounter etc, even as they try to hold onto their own literalism by putting fingers in ears and lalala...

Definitely an accurate description of creationists. They're so ignorant, indoctrinated and poorly educated that they don't even realize that most theologians throughout history were not biblical literalists and argued against teaching the old testament as history instead of focusing on the moral lessons of the various stories. Biblical inerrantism was debunked by Christian archeologists and geologists by the end of the 18th century.

The Darwin quote is actually really interesting here. 15:50 The indelicate phrase "gorilla-like" aside, the idea that this woman's appearance is indicative of humanities vast genetic variation is actually very true.
He doesn't say, at least in this quote, that she is some sub-human thing. He just says, rightly, that genetic mutation and variation is fascinating, and you can imagine how this unusual phenotype could be incredibly beneficial in the right environment, and then be passed down to future generations.

I went to Calvin’s article on the topic published on Aig’s website and looked up the source, and then went straight to the source. What Darwin said about Pastrana is the following:
“Here is another and somewhat different case communicated to me by Mr. Wallace on the authority of Dr. Purland, a dentist : Julia Pastrana, a Spanish dancer, was a remarkably fine woman, but she had a thick masculine beard and a hairy forehead ; she was photographed, and her stuffed skin was exhibited as a show ; but what concerns us is, that she had in both the upper and lower jaw an irregular double set of teeth, one row being placed within the other, of which Dr. Purland took a cast. From the redundancy of teeth her mouth projected, and her face had a gorilla-like appearance. These cases and those of the hairless dogs forcibly call to mind the fact, that the two orders of mammals - namely, the Edentata and Cetacea- which are the most abnormal in their dermal covering, are likewise the most abnormal either by deficiency or redundancy of teeth”.

Gene ABCC9 is associated with CS and hypertrichosis and the tail gene is Wnt-3a. (Just googled it, I’m not a geneticist) Both are extremely rare but can happen. I said something along those lines in an ultra Christian Creationist household, about having the left-overs in our DNA show that we have evolved. It did not go over well. 😅. Good morning Emma, from Los Angeles. Love this video. I have a friend who is a strong Fundie. Her son was at University studying Veterinarian medicine. When she found out her son had to take GE in order to get a degree. GE includes many courses such a logic, and other critical thinking. She pulled her son out of University and sent him to a Christian Veterinarian College.
When, I was in the seventh grade at a Christian school, my seventh grade teacher held up a newspaper showing a photo claiming a great Dinosaurs
Discovery had been made in Montana. My teacher said this was nonsense." The Earth is only 6,000 years old, the Solar System 8,000 years old. Dinosaurs never existed. This bone which were discovered are nothing more than cattle bones welded together!"
When I got home that night, I called the LA Brea Tarpits museum. When I finished telling scientist what my teacher had said, he replied " Bones cannot be welded together!" The scientist in-between fits of laughter.
I became almost instantly an Evolutionist.
One Sunday at church back in 2010 I got in a debate with this lady who was a believer in an young Universe. She said "Darwin worshipped the Devil!" I told here's a matter of fact Darwin considered himself a Christian, and had hope his findings would futher peoples beliefs in God." This debate was useless. I told my sister on the way home the next dog we get I am naming Darwin. On News Year's eve 2010, a renter of ours couldn't keep her 1.5 year old blond male Cocker Spaniel. I as promised named him Darwin. I unfortunately lost Darwin to death in January of this year. He was 12 years old.

A more likely explanation for the furry guy in the Bible: it was used to represent his role as the "wild man" in a pairing of a wild man with a civilized man. People back then lived in a world where only small areas were farmed and had towns/cities, and outside those areas was a "wild" world still full of nomads & hunter-gatherers. It's a juxtaposition that was on everybody's minds because they could see it any time they looked across the border between the two... especially for a people who were themselves in or close to the transition from the latter to the former. The Bible has other tales bringing up this duality and the question of which way is better, including also Cain & Abel, along with Eden & the world outside Eden, and the post-Exodus "wilderness wandering" phase compared to settling down in the towns of the promised land. And comparable juxtapositions in other tales outside the Bible also not only exist but also sometimes emphasize the wildness of the "wild man" of the pair by giving him animal traits. In the story of Gilgamesh & Enkidu, for example, Gilgamesh was the king of a huge city, and Enkidu was from the untamed lands somewhere outside the city and had fur, hooves, pointy animal ears, and horns. Jacob & Esau were just the latest version of the trope.

My favorite thing about Answers in Genesis is when you go to the Ark Exhibit they basically recreate their own theory of evolution. The 'logic' goes: the Ark isn't big enough to fit two of each of all the animals that are alive right, so they make up a bunch of progenitor species. Like they have some "Original Canine species" and then when it got off the ark it adapted to all the different types of canines in the world... you know adaptation through environmental pressures also known as Evolution. Except where scientists say it is a slow process that happens over millions of years Answers in Genesis basically goes Hyper Evolution and says that in a couple hundred to 1,000 years things can become diverse species.

17:55 As far as I can tell, that part where AiG mentions the examples of exhibits in freak-shows that _aren't_ anything you can even tangentially tie to evolution, they undercut their own argument, since their point is that "Evolution makes you dehumanize people because they're just animals", which is stupid anyway, but bringing up that people _kept_ doing it, and did it then and later to people who had things like immense size and other unusual features or whatever else that were NOT at all connected to the theory of evolution destroys that argument, because it then opens up the alternative that "evolutionary thought was not immune to being influenced by bad people who saw anyone who was 'different' as less than human", rather than what they seem to be trying to say, which is "the belief in evolution specifically causes this". Like, their point only works if evolution _alone_ led to things like this, because having other examples that don't fit that narrative suggests automatically that something _else_ was causing that way of thinking, not evolution itself.
Also, trying to argue that "thinking other people evolved from animals leads to dehumanization" has a gaping flaw in it...because we could just, I don't know, NOT abuse or treat animals horribly or as just tools in the first place. Not that I'm making one of those bullshit "Animals are just like humans and we shouldn't eat meat or do testing" or anything like that, but nowadays many people see (at least some, depending on the person) animals and empathize and try to understand them, I know I do at least, and we try to treat them better no matter what their circumstances, though of course there is a LOT of nuance that I'm leaving aside here, but the point is "Animal" does not, nor have to, mean "This _thing_ can be treated horribly because it is an animal" so the proper response to that idea AiG would be proposing could just as easily be "We should care about humans _and_ other animals, and treat them _all_ better" not "Don't believe evolution or that humans are animals". Like, to simplify, IF seeing humans as animals meant people would treat them badly, we could just, not treat _any_ animals badly (within reason) and not think "Only humans deserve respect and proper treatment" instead of just "Humans are NOT animals and I won't believe anything, even science, that says that they are".
Of course, that goes against the Biblical idea that humans _are_ superior to other animals, because God made them that way and all that, but yet again, when you dig a bit, these arguments from apologists only work at all if accept at least some parts of their own worldview as true, when if you don't, it all doesn't make _any_ sense whatsoever, because the conclusion doesn't follow from the argument after you remove the base assumptions.

There is the movie "Freaks" from 1932 that plays in this community of carnival and circus sideshows. Very disturbing for today, at that time that was still "state of the art".
On the other hand, as horrible as this public display for shock is, on the other hand it was one of the only possiblities for these people to have an outcome on their own and even get a kind of
    societal status.
Without that, they would have ended in some homes, as no one would have wanted to look at them, not knowing how to treat them.

All these examples Calvin has chosen are cherrypicked to vilify evolutionists. That are not so much backwards development, these are people where something in genetics and fetal development has gone severely wrong. Good, our ape-like ancestors had more hair, but there are also lots of other examples that P.T. Barnum showed around.
And it was NOT evolutionists that paid for the entry fee, it was CHRISTIANS.

It is hilarious when this guy claims (WRONGLY) that evolutionists are exploiting such people and pretends they christians are SOOOOO tolerant to them. Let us see a few deformations christians find intolerable:
    - people with another confession (e.g. muslims)
    - christians that think science knows more about nature than the Bible
    - the original residents of the United States and South America
    - imported dark-skinned people from Africa
    - people that see no persuasive evidence for supernatural, invisible beings
    - people that have a deviating opinion about the relation of how much specific (fe)male behaviour they want to live their own life with, resp. do not constrict their love to what christian norms dictate.
So people are outcast where you can hardly see that they are different.
And I heard preachers say explicitly on video that all gays should be killed. And Ted Cruz, whom he called up on stage, did not say a word.
