chances are it is a lab created stone. That diamond tester doesn't know the difference. lab created stones conduct electricity and the D/T doesn't know the difference. I have one and I can't tell the difference in mossanite and diamonds. Bad news. Get a good tester that will know the difference in real and lab stones.
Going to fire away a few questions. How do sapphires, rubies, mossainites and really really greasy diamonds test with this? Also if a fancy colored diamond is really greasy, does it still read as diamond or do you have to try to search for the sweet spot in hope it starts beeping and is it possible to first glance light all the way to diamond but on the second and third falls back to like a hard headache of corundom? Thus that sweet not greased spot or the right cut angle?

You need to touch (contact) both, the metal plate on the device and in the other hand the stone or touch the slat with ur other hand.
