    About this video
Ben Tanner PA-C walks you through medical Spanish vocabulary that you could use to do an HPI on a patient with some type of pain, in a setting such as the emergency room or urgent care. So this is kind of a generic history of the present illness. Ben shares the phrases in English and then in Spanish, so you can quiz yourself as you go along. If you're an emergency room clinician (like a doctor, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner) you'll probably find this particularly useful. If you're another type of healthcare provider or healthcare professional, you can probably still learn some useful medical Spanish terminology.

La entrada "pressure-like" tiene una traducción bastante incomprensible para un nativo, "como presion", pretty much means nothing to us. Al menos en un contexto medico.

Gracias por el comentario. Qué diría Ud en vez de eso (para comunicar la misma idea)?

si me puedes dar una frase hecha y en contexto seguro que lo puedo hacer, ya que "como presión", aislado, no es contextual en si misma como seria, por ejemplo, presión sanguinea, que si puede operar per se.

So, if you gave me a full sentence, in order to place it in a context, it probably won't be as meanningless as it sounds in spanish alone.

@@AndresfernandoOsorio Gotcha. Well the idea is to find out what the chest pain feels like (pressure, sharp pain, burning, etc.). In English it's commonly described of as pressure when someone has a heart attack/heart problems. We're using short phrases / sentences because this is for a doctor with limited Spanish ability who wants a yes/no answer. Hence why there's not a ton of context. But a longer English sentence might be, "Does it feel like there's a pressure pushing on your chest, or like someone sitting on your chest?", for example.

In this particular case, a doctor would ask:
Como esta su presión/ Como se siente de la presión/ Como va tu presión ( and the patient would understand right on the spot which pressure context he's being asked about)@@LearnMedicalSpanish
