- Not a Budget Bass amp this time....
The first 4 channel tested on this channel and of course... It's an Infinity. This one you could get for around $129-$159 a few months ago and now prices are hovering around $150. Will this amp live up to the other Infinity amps I have tested, or will it fall flat on its face?
For full disclosure, this amp was tested months ago, before I was filming current draw and voltage, though at this power level figure the voltage was pretty steady around 14.3.
Not my best work talking about the amp... BUT The dyno is worth a look. :)

Nice results! Amp looks cool to me, I like it. How did it do at 4 ohms bridged? Did you try 1kHz too and see if there was much difference vs. the 40Hz test? Some amps I see virtually no difference, other amps can be 10% or more difference. Keep them coming brother, you are doing great!
I like the looks. It's different. All amps these days look the same. I like old sound stream the screaming face was sick. Or even the flames on an audiobahn amps and subs. It's just like cars no style anymore

I've got an older Rockford fosgate power 1000 5 channel I would love to see tested. It's the 25 to life version of the amp. Would love to see it tested beyond its limits to see what it would do. It's to big for any car to fit in so it's been sitting for years. Would this be possible?

I like harmon audio, people need to realise that power is only part of the story. I find myself sounding like a old samurai master when I say this " power means nothing without control ". Thats why I like a/b amps. These Harmon amps just plain sounds good . if you need filters and widgets then you should invest in a audio control or a sound processor .
Could you please test one of the Infinity K2 or K4 amplifiers. Let’s see the comparison of these amplifiers to the reference series.

Class AB? Crutchfield has it listed as class d, but it is the size I would expect for an AB.
Ryan it is nice to see you testing Harman Amplifiers. Your findings are correct as Harman builds quality products. They are the largest Tier 1 OE Supplier in the world. Harman supports brick and mortar stores. It would be nice to see you promote MAP pricing instead of informing that it is "all over the place cheap". Everything sold online that is not at MAP or from an authorized dealer has NO WARRANTY through Harman. Receipts have to come from Authorized Dealers. What a customer will spend on inflated labor installation rates (internet purchase), removal & re-installation costs (if purchased on the internet & fails), Getting an appointment for installation (retail locations will schedule weeks out due to not getting the sale), No Technical Support, makes the MAP price an added value. Internet bandits are sitting in a basement with a laptop in their lap. Brick & Mortar stores are trying to support their family and keep food on the table. So you are leading your viewers to purchase our products that they will never be able to service. By purchasing from an Authorized Dealer, they will have their product professionally installed, warrantied exchanged for 1 year over the counter, and be able to purchase other Harman products, & have an "experience". By leading them to online bandits, you are doing them a disservice. Harman would most likely share your tests results on their page for more traction if you support Local Retail Shops.
Ryan Blankenship I will send you amplifiers to test for Harman and share your test. My point was, all manufacturers besides Harman, would appreciate a simple "go see your nearest authorized dealer to pick one up" rather than offering your internet research to the public. You know as well as I do that the internet is a HUGE problem for all. Thanks for your reply.
Thanks for the video, I'm trying to learn about car audio in preparation for a complicated install I want to do to upgrade my Nissan factory system which is in an electric car. It's a strange configuration and I don't want to draw much power - the Infinity 704 looks like a good fit to go with my infinity reference 6 1/2" coaxial speakers.

I love it, how could u hate on the looks, black carbon with orange infinity logo, this would kill it in my 64 impala. If I were to geuss the halo sonic might be in cars that have stock infinity or jbl systems. I like the Infinity over soundstream cus it just looks like a new amp especially if you have a new car I'm gonna pick one up when i get my sound demo car going.
Dope I wanna do Infinity Kappa speakers and was looking for amp for them these draw less amps, put out the power and and are really efficient. The 1000 amp with go great with my sub at 2ohmss. These amps are pretty clean and a good price so I'm gonna go with them for the build

i had issues with my jbl club 550 amp. Worked great @ 4ohm but @ 2ohm it was having issues and had to return it. 4 ohm it never skipped a beat and was suppose to be 2 ohm stable but it did not like it.
i thought it was my rca but bought new set still same it, would be loud for a moment then act like it was loosing power. I have a big 3 with ofc 4 gauge nvx wiring and using 4 gauge to the amp but no idea. Took it out threw in a friends little rockford 500.1prime and wired it to 2ohm and never had an issue. IT happens their only electronics anyways lol

My understanding on that infinity amp is it's a marine grade amplifier
This one is not... the new ones might. Haven't looked at them lately
@@bigblank69 maybe all the ones on Amazon That look like that say there marine grade I don't think it makes a difference in performance I'm just back and forth over keeping my my whole system infinity or running a different brand of amp
@@3613jeremy marine grade just means the amp holds up in heavy moisture environments... some amps it's a waterproof coating over the board, some it's making the amp as water tight as possible.. but has no effect on sound or wattage
Thanks I'm back and forth between this one and a amp called Topstronggear that half the size & looks built really well and has good reviews but that name is scary just want a decent amp to push my 4 infinity kappa 6x8,s

@budget gem or budget bust. I have this amp and 2 sets of infinity components each 6.5 woofer and tweeter combo is at 4ohms. If I was to bridge the front and rears together, the front and rear channel would be at 2ohms. Would each set(2-6.5 woofers and w tweeters) be getting the 120ish watts to split or the 120ish watts for 1 woofer, 1 tweeter. If you need more clarification just let me know.

Infinity older amps are good amplifiers the infinity kappa 202a the infinity 7541a the infinity 1210a and the 1211a all these infinity amplifiers I just named all exceeded over there rms power rating
Can you connect 4-6 car speakers 180w speakers and 2 subs on this amp? Subs are both 1200w
Hey Ryan, is it possible to do a dyno on the Infinity K4 as well? I bough the K4 as an upgrade to my old Infinity Kappa Four, but it was very dissapointing, its soft and distorts on every bass note at high volumes. So i also bought this Ref 704a, and it actually out performs the K4 by far, just not clarity wise, but decibel wise the 704a was 13db louder just before distortion..

Ryan Blankenship how would you compare the sound stream tn4.900d to the sound stream pn4.1000d. I believe they call that the Picasso nano series
I have the Soundstream tn4 900d and it's really good. I'm pretty sure all the others are the exact same amp jist with a different case. Not sure on the pn41000d though

Daniel Harrell you can use the subsonic as a band pass on your midbass drivers. So say your running 8" midbass drivers like the silver flutes or JL zr800 or heck like my infinity kappa perfect 900 6x9s in my front doors. Depending if you are running a 3 way active or two-way active you would set your lowpass @ say 300hz and then set the subsonic at like 63hz.
Eric Perry I Believe I should have clarified my statement, I use my cut off on my hu a deh-80prs, I have been told years ago if u have one good x over not to use any others because each one will add distortion, I am Changing from a spl system n my daily to a Sq, and really trying to figure this out their is a lot to each style that is difficult, but thanks for ur input manhandled positive comment
Daniel Harrell no problem. If you want to learn more about sq systems, there is a FB group. "Strictly sound quality". I'm also on a forum DIYMA. You can read up. And yes normally you only use one set of xovers.
We know infinity amps are budget jems we want to see amps like Jensen power amps Jensen dub audio amps , Kenwood,sony etc.
Chris Brownlee the Sony amps out now, it's just 2 with a 6 channel dsp dropping soon are all SQ amps. I mean rated in a test just as good as the zapco st-4xsq! Class a\b and does rated.
Buy them and then send them to him for testing.

the soundstream 900.4 is around 120 so yeaaah i dont see any reason to go infinity other than being a brand nutthugger
If the soundstream pulls a lot more amps that could be another reason if you would get something like this, warranty too maybs
there's no reason actually, you can set the soundstream for 70 watts and get the exact same current pull and the amp would not distort because its not working at 100% capacity, keeping it cooler and more efficient. Just because you have 145 watts doesnt mean you are forced to use all of it.
The tn4.900d board was changed now and is garbage. I have the original which is a very good amp. I think the clones of that amp from other brands are still good though. If those amps didn't exist then this infinity would probably be my next choice at this budget.
Great video but that mouth breathing is very distracting. Maybe a pop guard could help?
Damn ADR, I thought the same thing like early signs of congestive heart failure coming on or middle stages of COPD. Perhaps an early morning jog could help us enjoy some more of his videos. Why do we care about hertz and unimportant stuff I care most about watts per channel, how many speakers can connect mostly how much wattage per channel not hertz ... this amp is supposed to be a 1000 watt. Lol
