Oh heck, jelly fish!!! We are coming to the island next week and I love to swim in the sea, not keen on meeting any jellies though😳 That said I have swum alongside the Fried Egg jelly fish which was amazing to see up close. Do you know which type stung yourself? Can I ask where that was, I’m in the process of making a “to see and to do” list. Can’t wait to explore the island. Another lovely video thanks👍
Oh yay! Things worked out and you managed to secure a trip to Kythera! I'm SO happy for you! Don't worry about the jellyfish. It happened once to me and the locals were VERY surprised. Rare and didn't sting too bad. Just the initial sting and it got better pretty quickly. We think it was the purple jellyfish - tho not sure. www.ekathimerini.com/news/1185988/purple-jellyfish-are-now-spreading-to-the-ionian-sea/ It happened at Limniara beach which you access via Agia Mytdyia. Its a lesser known beach. If this is your first time to Kythera and time is limited I'd be sure to go to Avlemonos, Chalkos and Melidoni. Wishing you the BEST time on Kythera. I hope you will make a video so I can see your experiences too!
Good to see you taking some proper time off work and being tourists!
