Transcripción de la Historia en Inglés: During the Balkan war, a group of refugees along with two soldiers were fleeing the conflict zone towards the border in search of safer lands. As they passed through a completely devastated village, suddenly a young woman ran out from the ruins of a house, crying for help. Among the rubble, an old man was hiding, protecting a baby of only three months and an eight-year-old boy. The young woman, Jelena, asked if they could join the group. But the soldiers, seeing the old man, thought he might delay them, which could be dangerous for everyone. After considering the situation, they finally agreed to let them join with one condition: They would help with the baby, but she, the old man, and the boy would have to fend for themselves. They estimated that they would reach a safe region in four days. With great difficulty, the old man kept pace for the first two days, but by the third day, his spirit began to wane. He felt that he couldn't go on, that it wasn't worth suffering so much, that there was no point in continuing to fight. At the end of that day, exhausted, he fell to the ground. They rushed to help him, but his frail body and weary spirit had given up. Despite the group's insistence, he was no longer willing to continue. He decided to stay behind and convinced everyone to go on without him, as waiting for him could be dangerous. The old man, resigned, expressed that he had lived long enough and wished to die in peace. Jelena did everything possible to convince him to make one last effort. She cried inconsolably, begged him with all her might, but despite her pleas, the old man had already given up. The cruel situation was unpleasant for everyone, but they had to make a decision. They couldn't carry him or wait for him; the sound of war echoed in the distance. Finally, there was no other option. They resumed their march, leaving the old man under the shelter of some ruins and damp rocks. Everyone started to walk away from the poor old man, but Jelena went back with her baby. She placed him in the old man's arms and, with the greatest determination imaginable, looked him in the eyes and said: "This is your grandson, now he is your responsibility, and his life depends on you." With a heavy heart, Jelena turned around and began to walk to rejoin the group. Her father began to call her, but she never looked back; she didn’t want to give him the opportunity to feel sorry for himself. The young woman rejoined the group and continued walking very nervously, until she finally looked back. Her elderly father had stood up and was slowly walking with his grandson in his arms toward the group. The desperation and deep pain that had engulfed everyone moments before turned into a moment of inspiration, strength, and faith. They realized that humans need a purpose greater than themselves; that when there is a why, strength appears where it didn't exist before. That where despair reigned, courage and inspiration to keep fighting are reborn. When life confronts you with extreme situations, when despair embraces you and the stones on the path make you fall, do not give up. Find your mission, your purpose, the source of inspiration that will lift you above the shadows and doubts, a motive with the capacity to generate the strength and determination to overcome the most difficult obstacles.

La joven no le regresó el Niño para darle la responsabilidad, lo hizo porque no quería que el anciano se rindiera, ella no quería dejarlo pero él estaba determinado, al decir que ya era un anciano y estaba cansado, no por eso él debía rendirse, ella le dio él Niño para que él tuviera un motivo o una razón para él seguir luchando y viviendo y eso lo hizo con el niño sólo así se animó a seguir…
