“Thermally damaged” aka caught on fire.
So.. Is "Thermally damaged" just $5 words for "It caught fire"?
Nice of the turbine to wait for the smoke to clear before falling down. It is appreciated.
I agree… we would of missed the tumble if not for it’s genteel manners
Thank God it is a quite windy site
"thermally damaged" is a fun way of saying it lit the eff up.
"Thermally Damaged", back in my day we used to just say 'burnt' 😛
“Thermally damaged”
“oh interesting they must mean because of extreme heat or cold or something.”
>a charred power unit and one blade completely gone already because of a unit-destroying fire
“Oh…”
Thermally Damaged? you mean the one that caught on fire.
I love how "thermally damaged" was used to describe it rather than "burnt up"
Forgot to yell "windmill!"
Fell straight into the prevailing wind! Impressive.
There has to be a certain level of satisfaction in your life when your job is blowing stuff up
Yeah, it blowed up real good (SCTV)
Thermally damaged? It caught on fire.
If our ancestors used the fact that machines sometimes break as justification to never build or use machines, humans would never have been able to launch rockets into space to deploy satellites to link handheld computers to a video service so that they could do exactly that thousands of years later.
Love that you guys cut out a wedge like you would a tree. Really appropriate calling it "felling"!
All the other turbines in the background still spinning merrily away as their friend falls to the ground...
Yep, just like you and I drive past an old Chevy or Ford broken down and ready to go to the scrapper....
Fun fact: 2.4 MW could charge a 100 kwh Tesla in 150 seconds if Teslas could charge that fast.
It takes 250 pounds of coal to generate the electricity to charge a Tesla for a 1000 mile trip. (Per Bloomberg.)
I guess he wasn’t a ‘fan’ of his own success
Thermally damaged means fire right??? Lol
Ya the oil in the motor must have leaked and somehow by a spark caused a fire
I guess it is the politically correct way of saying it burnt. I was expecting "thermally damaged" to be something was melted, not rendered into charcoal and ash.
@@abpsd73 I assume it's the more "scientific" way of saying it?
Cyrano gets his revenge at last.
Now that was smooth ! 👍👍
RIP little corns.....
🤣
you cant fix it with duct tape? ok bring in the dynamite!!
Commenters be salty that wind turbines exist.
yes, I have no clue why? they like to smoke coal I guess
They suck
"thermally damaged"... Lol
Another beautiful job!
Farmer...Well I save the fuel and labor not having to pick that area of corn this July, and I will still get paid the same as my acre yield is for the rest of the crop.
Careful, petro advocates will try to claim this is somehow a point against renewables
LMAO
You think you're clever?
The most satisfying thing I have seen in a long time...Now that needs to happen to all the rest of them!
The way it just stood there for a moment after the explosion, reminded me of countless "movie kills" where the bad guy is decapitated, but just doesn't realize it yet.
Nice the way the subtle watermark emerges from the dust cloud approaching.
So gracefully falls down.
1:10 looks like Jar Jar Binks falling down
AntiWindmill guys will like this.
I was wondering if they did that right for a little bit.
I'm guessing you guys will be getting much busier now as all the first gen machines are approaching if not over 20 years of age and running out of service hours. The green revolution has taken a distinct brown tinge.
I like how the foundations are not damaged. You can erect a new turbine in the same spot.
It's amazing how much concrete and steel it takes, they are huge!
I'm pretty sure that's the point. These things are already expensive I doubt they want to build a new foundation.
Did a number on the crops...
Wondering what all the dust come from at the top?
Ash/residue left from the fire.
soot from the fire.
Carbon
Ashes and burned parts from the "thermal damage".
Probably some of it was thrown up by the det, plus it became a giant chimney so all the dust on the ground can be funneled up and out
they must have realized after they built it that it was 1 block off
lmao
I wonder how far that chunk that got blown off went? That was cool!
Bet the combine operator who found it a couple months later didn't think it was so cool.
Probably about 300 Meters or 984.252 Foot or 328.084 Yard. But it´s just a guess
Waiting... Waiting... Waiting... Ah, there it goes! 😁
That was some heartbreaking Iron Giant stuff🥺
Nice demolition, though😭😭
Such grace.
Dude, even the camera vibrated because of the sheer weight of a falling wind turbine
Was waiting for a POV shot. 🤭
Big Pinwheel Faw Down an Go Boom;!!!🤔😃😃😃
Dropped it in to the wind??
Nicely done. 👍
"thermally damaged"...
dude, just say that it BURNED
Thermally Fire 🔥!
Wow that took a long time before it started moving!
👍🏼 Awesome, as ever! 😎
I miss climbing and work, ing on wind towers be even fun to demo them when can I start I'm ready to travel again.
all i can say is well done alot of things could have went wronge but didn't
What pray tell is a thermally damaged wind mill?
Burnt....
It caught on 🔥
Caught fire
ah, I see what you mean about 'Thermally damaged'.
Really needed something in the end scenes to establish an approximate size reference. Cannot tell of the tower was 4 or 20 feet in diameter at the base
Good job!
Beautiful
Awesome debris field
Well done!
Why’d they fell it instead of replacing the nacelle?
Blades were damaged, top of the tower was compromised, likely burning oil and debris fell inside the tower damaging load wires and cables. Replacing the entire structure, would be cheaper than the added man-hours to repair.
@Supersquid
The replacement turbine and tower will be far larger......
Its like trees. It looks like there is a lot more of them when they are laying on the ground.
I almost thought it wouldn't fall
"Thermally damage" took me a while to figure out what that meant 😜
Nice video.
I love the hang time until you can see the motion accelerating. Seems like a number of wind turbines fail prematurely for different reasons. Thanks to Loizeaux for sharing these clips !
Nice.
It fell like a Power Rangers enemy.
There’s going to be a lot more of those hitting the ground in the future. Especially old technology from 20 years ago. CDI the best in the business.
Yes, 20 years life time. The first generation machines are all coming out of service hours and due to technology changes are scrap. I hope the cost of removal and dumping gets factored into the 'green' equation.
Could have made a nice condo up on top.
Was the back side of that cut out before demolition? If so, what lucky guy got to do that?
Very well done!!
Keep em coming ! Love the videos!!!
Looky there, it got blowed up real good.
Where's the 3rd blade
Burnt out or fell off during the fire
Thermally damaged, vertically compromized.
And the birds are cheering......................
I listen to this instead of thunder sounds at night.
0:34 TIIIMMMBEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRR!!!
It's a good thing there are coal-fired power plants.
What caused the fire?
.........heat.
**snerkkk**
Exceeding the temperature at which the materials in question retained their "non-burning" status...?
Fun but expensive!
0:21 Fire in the hole!!!
CDI is the best at what they do😁😁😁😁😁😌😌😌😎😎
wow
Nice video but that watermark thing is as annoying as f***
What the heck😱😱😱
Next, when they get the fires in Australia, we will be told that the forests have been "Thermally Damaged".
If I was doing that, I wouldn't feel safe a 100 miles from there!
Another 10+ Blast!!
So Ah'm guesting they not gong to replace wit a new one.
TIMBER!
No more blowing in the wind 💨 😩
Great wind call…..they were ass backwards
Shaped Charges FTW.
I hope the power company compensated that farmer very well.
Guess they ran out of wind there
Bruh it got 666,902 views thank you Controlled demolition incorporated
thermally damaged ?
As in electrical fire
Yep paint discolouration caused by excess infra red emission. She fried.
So called renewable enery at work
Interesting that none of the other wind turbines were running!
Well, they can't ask the other generators to leave the area...but they can reduce the very slim chance of any damaging debris by stopping them....
