Makes me so mad. But there’s nothing we can do but raise awareness and cast out the rotten apples from the community. They still gonna be rotten and we can’t stop that which sucks.
It depends on the artists if they paid a licence to use that work...for instance if your using artwork from marvel then your supposed get a license to use their work in stl files now if they didnt then ok that stl doesnt actually belong to them giving you the right to sell it...so hes a hypocrite
Fair play to you Sir for defending artists who actually provide their hard work in making these wonderful models available to others! I've seen a couple of websites where I've seen the 'same' model only to see that it is a fraction of the proper price. As you state, no artist name, no sale! You cannot live off $5 that obviously took the artist many many hours to make. Great channel as always. - Alan
One of the best things about Gambody is that for every product you buy, you gain credits that you can put to wards future purchases. And it's not a piffling amount. You can quite quickly amass a decent amount of money to part pay for the next 'new thing'.
Amigo siempre eres claro con lo que dices ..que bueno que apoyes a todos esos artistas y diseñadores..es realmente respetable , estoy de acuerdo contigo. Cómo siempre un excelente aporte en tu gama de videos .
So glad I found your channel! You have a new subscriber, man! I would add another excellent artists: Megha of VX Labs. He does mainly ladies (Wanda, Black Widow, The Wasp, Wonder Woman and a number of others). The only dude on his list is Vision (comes with Wanda and a beautiful stand for the two). His attention to details is incredible, he's so good at getting the looks spot on that you actually recognise the actress immediately. And he always throws in a NSFW version for the pervs out there 🤣
Over my time in this new world of whatever we calling this I’ve made some amazing friends too. Some awesome artists and just too many to mention. I’ve got to revisit this video again I think but maybe make it like 2hrs long hahaha.
They are not bad with a well tuned printer and at a good size Will need some Sanding to smooth the lines a bit though but otherwise I’ve seen some good ones made with fdm
Hey Groundeffected, I've been binging your videos a bit this morning. Have you ever done a video about painting statues in more statue-like appearance? Like bronze, stone, etc. as opposed to the hyper realistic?
Hi, can you recommend a nice printer for someone who wants to print their own action figures? Im a total newbie with 3d printing though I can sculpt in zbrush and use traditional sculpting with wax.
I would get one of the mid sized machines. Maybe a anycubic m3 plus or a sonic mighty 8k the small ones are good but you will need more space before you know it.
Amazing mate!!!, Hey Question do these artist make customer models ? I was thinking like finding someone to make a model of my kid playing soccer as gift and get you to paint it? just asking if this is possible? let me know thanks and love your work!!!
How do these artists themselves acquire permission to sell these models (since these characters are owned by the respective studios)? Do they get a license or something like that?
Where do you get the lady with the red hair and the white tank top, standing in front of you, from? Really nice content you make, you got a new subscriber!
I know this comment is kinda old, but that’s Mary Jane from Spider-Man, not sure who sculpted it tho , it’s based on a famous piece of art of the character, but maybe that helps your search
I think Sanix might be the worst kept secret in 3D printing lol He was one of the very first large suppliers of Marvel DC prints back in 2019 so he's been at it for a while now and most people know his stuff pretty well. I LOVE berserk and wicked. They have updated their patreon to work like Sanix with the extras at 6 and 12 months. Some great recommendations in this list. Thanks so much!
@@Groundeffected Those are pretty cool, but I am after the stuff Prey Studio started with /accurate dinos. Anubis Studios does some cool stuff, but I am swamped with superheroes haha
I'm constantly find the Sanix's files on Ebay when look at other models as I never really knew where to find then a while back. I shoot him a link in messenger when I see it. I like gambody but for me the CON'S for that place is apparently you can only print the file 3 times and after you print it you can't do anything with it except give it to someone, you apparently can't if you wanted to say sell your printed it project on eBay or something. They have the right to make their own rules I just think at lest the sell of your painted model is a bit of an over reach but I can understand the limit on amount of prints. Great video
To be fair most sculptors don’t allow sales of their printed sculpts, Sanix is one of very few who to allow it. But they often have a merchant tier that allows you to sell prints.
Good video, I might me inclined to pay for someones Patron membership provided I knew what was being offered. I thing they should show their collection in order to get people sign up.
I agree about the selling of models behind artists backs, but I will say that some Patreon Artists have commercial licenses built-in to their Patreon tiers. Great video BTW.
10000% agree with the Patreon problem. I have no problem paying a sub to someone who makes awesome models that I like, but the platform makes it nearly impossible to tell what they make, or what the quality is.
Aren't many of these studios breaking copyright law by copying the designs from games, movies, comics etc? Or am I missing something? I'm not taking anything away from the artists works. Most of the work they produce is mind blowing.
I’m not a lawyer so I don’t know the answer to that I’m afraid. But one thing to note is we are really fine line between fan art and ip infringement. Arguably there’s no ip if there aren’t any fans so one could argue that it’s on the side of fan art, and one could be well within their rights to force stop if they wanted to keep their ip to themselves. But again I will say there’s no ip without the fans so I think most allow a fair amount of “fan art” in order to keep the culture alive. Unless you printing hundreds of statues with boxes and logos and selling them under the ip I don’t think they care too much about the fans making their own art… again I’m not a lawyer so it’s not for me to say. I just paint a 3d printed part at the end of the day so my involvement goes as far as paint on an amazing model I couldn’t get any other way
they are yes. Often gambody has to remove models when they get complaints from IP holders. There are dozens that are no longer on there. This is why its super hypocritical of gambody to tell people they cannot sell printed models of the files whilst simultaneously ripping off IPs themselves without permission (i can understand reselling the STL file but not 3d printed items)
Nice callout about Patreon. It's really annoying when you don't see what you're getting and you have to pay to see that. Unless I have seen the models elsewhere (FB groups, etc.) I will generally pass.
I spoke to one guy and mostly they do it to protect themselves from the collectible companies. Some of them are trying to get noticed by the name brands and apparently they don’t look too kindly on stl makers
I have a love-hate relationship with patreon do I think it’s the best way for creators to get paid for their work yes if I have the same interest base as you do I’m probably gonna wanna print a lot of your stuff that monthly payment is a good value for you and me you get paid monthly you know you’re getting this amount in monthly I know I’m getting a certain amount of models that I am most likely to want to print what I don’t like is trying to find creators that I want to back because I can’t see more than maybe one or two things that they’ve created everything else is hidden. so I may know that I like one thing you’ve created and I am supposed to decide whether or not I wanna pay $10 a month based off of that one thing I can see or I’m expected to go find you on any number of other social media profiles to see your other work there and then jump back to Patreon if that point I ultimately want to back you if I’m just looking for models to print that’s a lot of effort to go into I just want to back someone who makes Disney models or Marvel models or Harry Potter models or insert other interest here
Absolutely loved how passionate you got at the end about artist being ripped off. I have never experienced it, but 100% agree. I only use wicked marvel version and only subscribe to them, I can't really afford to do sub to you or I would. I believe the monthly sub for wicked is still robbing them blind for what u get, if I could afford more I would. The work they produce is so detailed, it's incredible.

Who is the red head character girl that you have in front of you and who makes that model?
