We are starting of in the outskirts of The Hague from were we will head southwards towards the village of Naaldwijk. For this special escort we will be taking the scenic route while passing through some small villages along the coastline.

Any chance we get some sneak peak into annual escort that Dutch emergency services do for sick kids?
AFAIK (live in NL, but not originally from NL) during one specific day each year - police/ambulance/fire drive & even motorcycle escort (lights and sirens blasting and all that) sick kids to places like the Zoo.
And at least in areas in/around Amsterdam - first time I saw/heard it, I thought something really bad happened to cause so much of emergency vehicles to be driving around.

This is an honorary escort of a police officer that is been driven in the car to his retirement party that is about to retire, so no time pressure and a nice opportunity to show of their skills. This doesn't happen much but is a nice way to salute the officer to retirement, but also a great opportunity to practice for the escort detail.
Its abuse of power
Thanks for clarifying that it was retirement and not for "final resting place".
@@7CH-912-CC3what power?
@@7CH-912-CC3 Did they have a sale on salt and vinegar at your local convenience store?
@@7CH-912-CC3 I agree, They should only stop traffic for serious stuff and not for someone retiring.
Dutch police are so professional, it's uncanny. These escorts, it's like watching a ballet dance. Great camera work!
I salute the police officers for their friendlyness. "please stop followed with a thank you" and a thumbs up when people oblige..... We see that a lot different in many countries!
You salute, then asking people to stop, I'm confused, so tell me what you on about then, also about friendliness, not all loliceare friendly site are friendly and some are nasty and the rest in-between dint know which way to go, some may b good, and some may b bad but its the rest we don't know about
Can you please translate this post into English
@@paulcarter5337 So, what's your point, exactly?
As a bike rider myself I enjoyed that all the way through but then when the reason was made clear I enjoyed the end even more!! What a great send off for someone who must have been a very popular colleague! Thanks for taking us along for the ride!! Amazing teamwork Well done Dutch Police.
I love watching the way these guys operate. Most impressive. Would I sit and watch a cop on a bike for half an hour? When it's a team like this definitely.
The BIKE officer's looks awesome. You do your country proud all the best to all at all the police stations around HAGUE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.
The more of these videos from the Netherlands I see, the more I get excited about coming on holiday to the Netherlands, thank you from New Zealand ❤️
and thank you for wearing our flag! ♥ that makes us proud !! ♥
Proud of our well trained Dutch police officers 🇳🇱
Very smooth, very skillful - a wonderful tribute to their retiring colleague !
What great respect for one another, this video truly touched my heart.
Glad to see the respect these officers have for the public.
I have the newer version of this bike, I cannot imagine a better bike. I have completed advanced training with the police. They teach you a lot and it opens your mind about speed and manoeuvres.
I have the 2007 version of this same bike. In a previous life, it was a state police interceptor. Very lively riding.
At first I thought it was for a fallen Colleague (which I'm so pleased it wasn't), how long had the Retiring Officer served for, a great video. Ride Safe, Stay Safe
This is what they do, in case of a fallen officer: ua-cam.com/video/HtJVhil6jNY/v-deo.htmlsi=cuTm7LnfEMzgjp9t
Spoilers man
According to Google retirement is not linked to years of service, but to age; they retire at the age of 65.
@@Leo_Pard_A4 which is probably for the best,
I mean you wouldn't want someone speeding on a motorbike at 80
ua-cam.com/video/HtJVhil6jNY/v-deo.html is an impressive and emotional video about the escort of the hearse for a police officer that got killed in the line of duty.
the officer was part of a team like the one in this video and a semi-truck driver ran him over to get evade getting a ticket.
Thanks for his service the officer of HAGUE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE have a excellent and awesome retirement.🎉👏👌🖖👍✌️💞🎶🎵💕🕊️🙏💯.
Great to have the camera on top of the police motorbike blue light rear pole. Good video. Thanks.
Very smooth, very skillful - a wonderful tribute to their retiring colleague
The "movable camera" others are referring to, I'm pretty sure is actually a 360° camera (which produces spherical footage, technically). The view we get in this video (I'm pretty sure) is a rectangular projection of that spherical footage, with some dragging around occasionally
Probably something like one of the Insta 360 X series cameras (Have the X3 myself)
Blablabla
@@sjefhendrickx2257 Exactly what I think of your comment!
@@rayjennings3637 Leave Sjef alone. He has never touched a tiddie before without money changing hands 😂
@@rayjennings3637To be fair, everyone knows this is a x3 insta360 camera, I’m not sure he needed to post mansplaining it to everyone.
Lovely tribute, the best camera work I have seen, well done
Very gutsy camera man, standing on the back of that bike for the entire ride.
@@Leo_Pard_A4haha, I'm sure this is a joke but for anyone wondering it is a 360 camera which films every view possible and then when editing the video a final view can be chosen for sections of video
What great training for these officers and other road users. For the officers it was a rewarding one as well. Not much delay for other road users and I’m impressed how observant and obedient they all were. Excellent video
It is so special they do thuis for the officer who stops working.
What an amazing job the motorofficers do.
And a route that is in my neighbourhood in Holland!😊
Amazing how they're directing traffic, without the use of sirens, and while being 100% courteous to other road users.
I must say how observant Dutch drivers are,and what a nice thing to do for a retiring officer.
The moving camera actually makes this a lot better compared to the older videos, good idea.
The weather looked so gloomy. Reminds me of my time in UK as an international student there. I suffered depression during the winter time. I'm from Asia, so its a bit of getting used to it in UK. 😊
But I must say, u have very beautiful country side sceneries
Great video - I really enjoyed this one . What a nice change!
RESPECT to these police officers who honor their colleague like this. Wow.... it indeed left me speechless!!
i am very VERY proud to be DUTCH!!! ♥♥♥
I like the “movable” camera on one of your motorbikes,it’s gives us a new idea of how skilful you guys are. ❤❤😊😊
Just so you know it's a 360 camera, very impressive technology
Thank you. The camera is amazing
Excellent narration, informative without going over the top. Brilliant video.
Thank You!
Quicker than Uber Eats...the pizza was still warm 😂
I have a lot of respect for those bikers!
The ever best Team al see my respekt !!!
I found this fascinating and highly skilled.
being from naaldwijk and recognising monster and most roads is quite wild in these POV vids
I see from the comments that whingers are international. Great riding by the police, and my compliments to the civilian drivers there for their respect of the law. Unfortunately not always universal.
They drive through a monster. Monster, Netherlands.
Thanks for sharing.
This is an excellent example of how things should be done.
Oh wat gaaf zeg.... Zo hoort dat!
How cool is that? That's how it should be!
I am from the UK and thats wounderful
Wow! Just brilliant, and what a tribute to the retiring officer!
Brilliant work very good team
Mooie video. 👌🏻
I am amazed how obedient all the car drivers (and most cyclists) are to the whistle and hand signal instructions from the escorts. Can't see this working in the overcrowded streets/road and angry, self-entitled drivers in the UK!
Have a look at the Met Polices' Special Escort Group (SEG) who do the Royal and diplomatic runs in London. Whistles and light only.
I'm ex military, I drove under police escort with the Queens Baggage detail. The Police were well ( extremely) trained in shepherding a convoy of 8 vehicles. I felt safe.
Wow these Police Teams are a remarkable and perform better than a Robot Gizmo sat-nav 👀 brilliant
I bet there was tears being held back.
good video, i liked the camera on the motorcycle
Treurig, zo’n afscheid. Maar geniet van je pensioen 😊
@@kaasmeester5903 Sorry to hear that... ☹ 🤗
@@truebluewonderful1139 Dankje🙏
That's nice! Neven seen something like this. My guess at the beginning of the video was that the wife of one of the officers was expecting a baby and they escorted her to the hospital 😅
Just wow amazing ❤❤
Top level comradery! ❤
1:16 Lol an then i see my car my opel astra infront of my house in this video AWSOME !
That type of "emergency" driving had not happened in Denmark. Where it is only legal if it is an emergency. even our king does not move with blue lights when he is transported
That was BRILLIANT. It wouldn't happen in Britain, the Anglo-Saxons don't care about the ordinary person. Good to see that the continent still treats workers as real humans. I loved this,
Anglo-Saxons 💀
In the UK it's a bit more hidden but please be aware a retiring officer is honoured.
@@X94Caz I know it happens. Everyone, above the rank of sergeant, is "honoured" at the local Freemason's lodge.
Anyone, sergeant and below, is not allowed to attend a lodge.
It seems like a pretty relaxed pace for the police car so it can't have been much of an emergency.
These officers regularly train to keep their skills on the high level needed fort this kind of jobs so, just another training run.
It may sound a bit daft... But I actually felt a bit sorry for the poor escorted car driver trying to keep up with that team.
Respect!
FYI that car is an Audi A6 Avant, capable of running 250kph. Police use those for high speed interventions and there are really not that many cars on the road that will outrun them. Found it surprising that it failed to keep up with the motorcyclists, then again as what we witnessed here is essentially abuse of privilege it's a good thing that the driver of the car kept a relatively normal pace as to not endanger bystanders.
I really love this culture because it is not same in Canada.
Super cam-video.
Wow amazing ❤❤
Uniformed services like Police & Fire tend to celebrate their colleagues long service at retirements. Interesting to see this.
An escort of the highest honour amazing way for fellow colleagues to show their respect for another colleagues years of long service and done with with out putting the general public at risk.
Congratulations on your retirement. Well done to you all
Cool camera!
Looks like they’re very good at their job. I like to know if there is a long extension with a camera on he’s got control of it spinning around that’s what I’m puzzled about good videos as always 👍
8:56 - here it looks as if the camera is not attached to the bike at all 😵💫
Wonderful video. Great honour to their colleague upon his retirement. I do wonder regarding the resource cost. He got to the station but how did he get back home after his last shift?
By the traditional retirement trebuchet.
@@petertenthije😂
Via Trebuchet. 😂😂👍
The sync mounting of bikes already revealed this is a total respect escort
In Rotterdam they do in the most special way....the retired officer will be picked up in a old patrol car the Famous Chevrolet Suburban C10 patrol car with blue lights and sirens
Congrats to your retierment!
I also think it police colleague retiring that is high up, from South Africa
It would be pretty cool if you could link the original video so we can also watch that
I am missing the sirenes. In the Netherlands policevehicles are only special vehicles when using lights and sirenes.
GOED GEDAAN JONGENS , FIJNE PENSIOEN COLLEGA
What is the shift pattern for those motorcycles
I'm not sure about their jackets.
Back in the 1970s, dutch motorcycle cops wore white leather jackets and black leather trousers with a white stripe, I loved their uniforms.
A fellow Officer.
The village of Monster!😂😂😂😂
What do you think the inhabitants of Monster are called?
Like a well oiled machine............
Happy Retirement
Interesting, very professional riding but not sure the reason is justifiable. Usually its lifesaving but the Royals get in not sure where the line is.
It’s the way colleague’s send them off for retirement… the respect that you have as and give to a hard working (not all 😊) group of professional’s
can I ask, what means POV ??? I see it everywhere lately ! thanks
Point of view
blocking the road because someone retires is crazy stupid.
It's a hornary escort for their colleague, which means friend at work, basically, to show off their skills to their friend one last time, one last memory they all get with that one last ride, and I'm sure that colleague was once a biker so he's now getting the escort treatment after escorting many ambulances, and other emergency vehicles responding in this country, for someone who's not in that country, i understood the situation better than this comment, they had to make sure the road is secure is all, because drivers who are like you will wonder why they're blocking the road and will insist on driving instead of stopping and waiting
Training run.
This is real on road training under normal road and driver conditions.
You don't use untrained riders in a real emergency situation.
Ambulance and Police personal also go out on training runs.
You have to hone your skills.
Well I was wrong, just watched all the vid.
It took me 28 minutes to figure it our
how long do the officers have to plan the route and how much notice do they get that their services are needed
I assume, with no specific knowledge of your question, that they typically have a large window of opportunity to plan the route.
I'm assuming this, because the majority seem to be organised hospital transfers that are booked on for a specific date. It's the fact they can't stay out of a hospital bed for long that they need the escort, not the fact that they are a sudden emergency.
It depends. In cases like this (the retirement of a fellow-officer) they can plan the route in advance and they know in advance their services are needed. But on the other hand there are situations (medical transport after e.g. large traffic accidents) where they are assigned without any preparation. They have to jump in in a matter of minutes. That’s why training runs like these are very important.
It was interesting, but I haven't been left speechless. You were a bit heavy on the hype there, pal.
Question for the poster of this video: Was the policeman on the bike ( nbr 49) followed by a drone?
It’s a wide angle camera, mounted on the back of the motorbike
@@Emergency-POV ok, thanks for info
@@corjpwhat's quite interesting is it is a 360 camera, which allows the editor to choose which way to point the camera after the video has been filmed.
What about the pore truck sent down a side road for no reason
Cool, thanks for taking me for a ride.
Plz video in GREECE 🇬🇷
It is a training.
Why they not have sirens?
Well, for one thing, it worked pretty nicely without them; I get the feeling that the dutch are quite observant when it comes to the road. Also, this whole operation is more of a private thing -- sure, it's probably been cleared with everyone involved, but at the end of the day it's not an emergency run. Likely, they actively chose a time with low traffic as well.
So, I'm guessing they kept it a bit on the low side and only used the sirens at the end. Which, I guess, also works nicely for the passenger in terms of "choreography" -- more isn't always better, if you chose the right moment.
Blue lights without sirenes , give no legal priority ( Prio 1 ) and the use of both at the same time requires permission from the Dispatch Senior officer ( Inspector ) . As this was not a real emergency the solution is to use blue lights only just to attrack attention of all drivers. In fact no legal priority 1 status during driving.
However when stopped , the handsigns of the officers are legal signs, which always have to be obeyed by all traffic users.
Use of only blue lights is to get somewhere faster without Prio 1 ( and is often used )
Super !
First btw u dropped a pin. Can i have it and i think he is retiring
wish we could hear the constant comm chatter tho i guess, not emergency, just regular leapfrog, none needed
Some people bitch this holds up traffic. its also training.
I would like to ask what make and model of bike these people use?
BMW F800gs is one type they used, however those within the video look to be BMW R1200rt's, also know they use the R1200gs as well. Difference between the two models of the 1200s is the blue light placement on the back, on the rt's its positioned like you see in the video, on the gs it's on the compartment box that sits on the back.
Not entirely sure, but i think most of them nowadays are BMW R 1250 RT-P
No no no my friends, at the moment the Team verkeer - team traffic - use BMW K 1600, that is a 6 cilinder in line, for there work. Soon to be replaced for.....?
