In a few months, more than a thousand animals have been rescued thanks to USAVA. To increase this number many times over, we made a Christmas wish - to open charity veterinary clinics in Ukraine.
Everyone can become a wizard and help it come true!
Do you remember Kosmos the german shepherd, who almost died due to a complicated shrapnel wound after the Russian shelling? Or Musya the cat, who was brought back from the battlefield in the Zaporizhzhya sector with an open fracture by the defenders. Now both pets are healthy again and can run.
Medical care for them and hundreds of other animals was provided by USAVA. We find funds for surgeries, vaccinations, sterilisation, and chipping of animals. We also find money to pay veterinarians. But we cannot do it alone.
Ukraine needs charity clinics where animals can be rescued quickly, efficiently and free of charge, with the necessary equipment and medicines. 12 years ago, such a clinic was established in the United States by Dr Greg Wolfus. In his opinion, similar ones are needed in Ukraine.
"I think that with the recent devastation in Ukraine, it is very important that we have not only a place where people can get their animals cared for, but also a place where students and veterinary professionals can learn how to care for these animals," says Dr Greg Wolfus.
He notes that the most important thing in a charity clinic is to have a general practitioner, a clinician who provides all basic veterinary care. And then - highly specialised specialists.
"It could be dermatologists, it could be surgeons, it could be dentists, - people like that. I think that in terms of space, these charity clinics really need to have three examination rooms so that there is a good flow of patients. They need to have an operating room where they can do procedures and enough space to have several people in the room for training, as well as enough basic equipment to meet these basic needs."
So far, we have been helping our colleagues to save animals in all areas: from paying for surgeries to providing medicines. We finance the creation of inpatient facilities in the frontline regions. One of them is in Orlivka in the Dnipro region.
Now our goal is to open 10 full-fledged charity clinics with everything we need to save animals. But for this we need your help. We will be grateful for every cent, equipment or medicine! We will fight for every life!
