I'm officially all moved into my new apt, and yesterday the local food bank called me to let me know that I'm on the 2nd & 4th Wed delivery schedule. So I'm excited to see what I'll get this coming Wed. I was told that they try to give 15-20lbs of food (single households) so that could be 6-8 days of meals for us. (This is their homebound/disabled food pantry program.) I also was to expect more then canned & boxed goods cos they often have fresh fruits, veggies, and dairy too!! I'm not use to that. Anything I can get I am completely grateful for. 😊

Put banana peels in water and make free fertilizer for your rescue tomato plant. Just let the banana peel sit in the water for a few days , a week would be ideal, but it's a free food that js sure to help your tomato plant. Deadhead all of the dead leave to encourage new growth . I hope it recovers 🥰

You can freeze dry your own garlic, onions, leeks, mushrooms (umami seasoning), red bell peppers (paparika), hot peppers, Basil, thyme, pzrsley, spearmint, cilantro, oregano, inner leaves of celery and more to make your own spices and herbs. Some you can chop or break into small pieces or you can blend them into a powder. Too much zucchini? Shred it and freeze dry to add to many dishes. The freeze dried zucchini can be used in place of crackers, bread or other high starch item you use in meatloaf to make it suitable for diabetics or keto friendly.

I am so impressed that you took those tablets away. Children playing outside in the sun & fresh air helps them mentally and physically more than we know, and so many stay inside glued to a screen of some sort.
Tough for some parents to take away because it becomes a babysitter.

Yes it really can be a babysitter. I just needing some down time to be able to think! It was just hurting us In the long run. We still don't think they are ready to have them back.

My best advice is to start at the roots and go down. That big attachment is a curl defuser and you only have to lay your hair in it in sections and then you get pretty curls (I suggest a mousse or gel… I’ve been using a brand called Pattern it’s really nice and not sticky or stiff when dried)

Interesting to see the difference in the food options here in Sydney Australia compared to American options. You have so many milk options, still not understanding the 1% and 2% of what? I am assuming cream content.

I my-lanta, I have NEVER seen Rhubarb so long! Wow I FINALLY planted my tomatoes a few days ago, it was dark, and I was tired. Had planned to do the egg thing, but didn’t. Maybe next year? I was looking through a cookbook at my cousins house and there was a recipe for a sloppy joe pizza! I found one of those kale stem strippers at a thrift store. Haven’t used it, but have heard they are wonderful! Another great video Carolina!

When planting out any plant water pot well first and then water once planted into the ground, mulch is good but leave a little area free around the base of plant to avoid stem rot, they need air flow around the base or fungal disease will grow. Best of luck with your tomato plant. Thankyou for showing your approaching storm, we have had a couple here this week for the begining of winter.❤

I pulled some pizza sauce out of the freezer. I picked up red onion, bell pepper, and sliced mushrooms from the food rescue ( for toppings). I grabbed a Rustic Batard loaf too. A little sausage that I already had and some cheese finished of my French Bread pizza that I made for dinner tonight.
There is still a lot of the veggies left for tomorrow so maybe a mushroom stirfry for lunch - with some stuff I need to use up in the fridge added in..

It's my guilty splurge whenever I hit the grocery store & my son absolutely loves them too, honestly I've never known a child, aside from myself, that loves cabbage as much as my child. He'll eat it raw, roasted, cabbage rolls, brussel sprouts but his favorite is just simple steamed cabbage with a little salt, pepper & butter

Just droppin in to say hi today! I volunteered at my local food warehouse today and WOW was there so much food rolling in.
I love watching the many uses for some of the ingredients.
My favorite things I love to grab from the warehouse are: fresh fruit and veg, naan bread (especially the garlic ones-they are the best for easy pizza crust), frozen salmon and I always like to grab a new interesting item that I haven’t seen there before-this week was local cherries!)

What I did with my kale this year was wash, blanch, strained and formed them into round pucks. I put them on a flat sheet pan in the freezer for the night and then moved them into a freezer bag. Now when I make potato soup or stews I can throw a puck in for the greens. The blow dryer might be an opportunity for you and your daughter to spend time doing girl things if she is into it. I know all of my girls loved me doing their hair right up until they graduated even though they were not girly girls. I did a lot of blow drying and braiding during those years.

There is a Dutch dish called Stamppot that uses kale.
You boil the kale and potatoes. You mash them together until the kale is like little bits in the mashed potatoes. I cheat and I put my kale in a food processor then add to my potatoes and mash. Otherwise traditionally you will be stamping those potatoes and kale for 30 minutes at least until it is right. Place a keblasa sausage or similar pre-cooked sausage on top of the hot potato mash mix and cover to let it heat up the sausage. Make a AU JUS but make it where it has intense beef flavour and imulsify it with butter or tallow. Nothing else will work so do not try other fats or oils. Need a high speed blender or immersion blender to imulsify it well. Be sure to only add the butter or tallow in one tablespoon at a time. I cheat in this by making brown or beef gravy that is slightly runny.

My absolute favorite thing to do with skirt steak is make it into carne asada with homemade seasoning, tons of onion & cilantro. It's honestly so easy to make the dry rub, I'll leave a simple version here for the dry rub I use & how you can turn it into a marinade, mine is low sodium so feel free to add the amount of salt you want
    1-2 tsp salt
    1 Tbs cumin
    1 Tbs smoked paprika
    ½ Tbs garlic powder
    ½ Tbs onion powder
    1½ tsp black pepper
1 tsp dried Mexican oregano, regular is fine if you don't have the Mexican variety available
    1 tsp chili powder
½ tsp of cayenne if you want some extra spice & of course anything extra you might like such as tajin or chili flakes
You can add this to your whole or very thinly sliced steak & cook right away with lots of fresh onion slices & cilantro or you can turn it into a marinade to really pump up the flavor. To your seasoning blend all you need is 1 cup olive oil, lemon or lime juice it's your preference about 2 Tbs, ¾ cup orange juice, 2-3 finely minced garlic cloves, ¼ cup soy sauce, ½ cup finely chopped cilantro & of course you can add some chipotle pepper if you like that smoky flavor. Whisk together & taste, adjust your seasonings from there & if you feel like it's missing something try adding just a sprinkle of sugar. Smother your meat in the marinade & layer in fresh cilantro & sliced onions, store in a zipper bag or tightly covered bowl in the fridge for several hours or overnight. Cook the way you like it, precut on the stove or before cutting on the grill, either way let it rest before cutting into it. Enjoy

Children with cellphones and tablet should be monitored just as much as they are with any gaming or online device. It should not be a use as they please. Good way fir tablet or any online or gaming device. Make is a item they can use by earning time. For having their room clean 5 minutes, fir putting totpys away after done playing 5 minutes, for doing anything they are asked to do without being upset 5 minutes.... yiu get the idea. Then they can have one day a week or set play time in a day to use those minutes. OR give them a choice of getting 5 minutes play time or 5 cents in getting those things done for their piggy bank.

I noticed from the start that your hair looked better. ❤You’d look good with a blunt cut. Try turning you head upside down to have added fullness.

Simple tip for us thin haired girlies, flip your head over & dry from root to tip it will give you volume for days but not the 80's pageant degree of lift

For those with any cooking degrees especially in baked goods there is what is called a Cottage Food LAW in most states. IF you have a freeze drier most states allow you to sell and package freezedried candy, ice creams, pies and cakes as well as homemade candies and cakes. Many of the freeze dried foods you see on the market in the USA started as a Cottage Food business. You do have to obtain registration and have a permit from the local health department.
I have a friend who does anniversary, birthday, graduation, retirement, wedding cakes at her own home but she started just making cupcakes. So if you have the talent and have worked in the Food industry, can produce items on your state and county lists of approved homemade food items you might be abke to start your own Cottage Food business right from your home kitchen. My friend is a stay at home mother and did her baking during the time her children were in school. She also had cake decorating classes for the children and their parents. You never know where you will be in starting a business from home.
Just a few businesses that started as a home business. Some are bakeries and candy companies.

My best friend Katie had your type of hair and length. It was so precious and thin. Very fair hair. I don't talk to her anymore. I don't think we're friends.

Do you write down your recipes when they are a hit? I never did and always wished I had because I never made the same meal twice the same way 😂

My spouse still whines about the first stuffed peppers I ever made. I too never make a dish exactly the same twice. Apparently they were SO good and I will never match let alone out do them. And no I still don’t write recipes down.

@@nancyanne1402 Too funny, because I still don’t either. My kids and grandkids have been begging me to put together a cookbook. Hate to disappoint them…if they only knew. I’m still trying after 40 plus years to recreate the best pie crust I ever made. 😂
