There's just something so... extraordinarily pleasant and beautiful about octet compositions and sounds. What a brilliant medium delivering such wonderful music
Magnificent performance of this piece. Unique interpretation and powerful presentation. I wouldn't expect anything less from the musicians in this ensemble, especially the wonderful Mr. Daniels.
I know I heard this beautiful melody in a movie when I was a kid, it must have been around the mid-90s. I think there was only a short excerpt in the film, but it stuck with me. Does anyone have an idea? 🎶
I'm not 100% familiar with Nicholas Daniel's playing but at times he sounds very ... American in this performance? As opposed to his normal style. It's not so European.
It's indeed not too slow. This is the standard tempo that everybody seems to pick. It is however the phrasing that makes it sound self indulgent. It lacks a certain panache.

Absolutely spectacular!! Bravo!!
I continue to return to this beautiful composition and performance. It helped carry me through the pandemic.
The consoling powers of music are truly a force to revel in. Thanks for listening and for leaving us with this comment, Charles.
Below couple of critics notwithstanding, this is a magnificent performance . .
Thank you for listening, Rick. We're glad you enjoyed it.
A truly fine performance. Great job by Ani playing those damn 16ths in the 4th movement!
Bravi! Best live performance of this I have heard!
Beautiful, sensitive playing. Dvorak would be delighted. The Andante really carried me tonight. Thank you.
A pre-Covid treasure!! Thanks for sharing your beautiful performance!

It’s more of an older UK style
Wonderful, but please tell the principal cellist what a sixteenth note is.
Exellent performance, but is not good to see the first clarinetist... What kind of movement is that? And why?!?
Opening is too slow. Comes off as self indulgent.
sorry
Pretty standard tempo, actually. I can't say I've ever heard it played differently
They'll probably change it now.
Bro what?

It sounds both lilting and solemn, as does all of Dvorak. Not too slow, not too fast--just right!
