What I like to think is that “music is the universal language”, since it is very obviously overwhelming that this lovely Beluga(and his friend in the back) understood what this man was communicating. How beautiful! Music can truly be enjoyed by all
The interesting thing is though is that the sound is totally distorted by the man playing the violin behind the glass. The beluga would get a totally different listening experience if it’s head were actually above the waterline.
LOL, this! At first I thought the beluga wanted a higher view of the violin-playing human, but then I saw the surface of the water, then I was like, oh! it needed to breathe!
I love how he floated up to get some air while pressing his head to the glass. Never looked away and his flippers barely moved. This speaks both to the power of music and bright minds out there in the natural world. We can find common ground 😅
The beluga certainly was mesmerized! I loved when it kept pressing its mouth afterwards, like "kisses for you, my friend." And the one in the back looked like he/she(?) was dancing. Such gorgeous, intelligent beings. Beautiful. ❤

I'm a guitarist/composer/arranger,and that violinist makes me wish we could collaborate. Every note is just delectible! And I was a Nightwatchman at the Cleveland Zoo for 30 years. It ended up being a perfect combination. I fell deeply in love with my job. Our animal kindred, let me assure you, have a vibrant inner world like us. They love, feel lonely, grieve and even laugh. Don't ever underestimate them. A few weeks ago,I sat and played guitar on my upstairs porch. A chipmunk stopped by for birdseed, but then she stopped, and just sat and listened. You'll see many more clips on UA-cam of animals stopping and listening. I'm convinced that our relationship with Nature is changing, for something better, deeper and with much more loving kindness.
I don’t think humanity’s getting any better with nature, unfortunately, but I do know that animals have all the emotions you talked about, and then some. Humans didn’t get our emotions out of nowhere - we evolved with them from our ancestors, which were others animals with emotions.
I’ve watched so many videos of people playing different instruments for different animals. I always love their reaction to music. And oh so nice of the people playing for animals. It’s totally awesome!
You could see the Beluga feeling the music! He was moving his head and fins the way I do when I feel a piece of music… Lovely. And the Beluga in the background was dancing.
Beautiful!…God has a way with using animals to make us smile…felt the true love and beauty in this video…maybe God was sending his love and appreciation through this man and baluga whale connection…🥰🥰🥰

He absolutely loves humans and is completely fascinated by us, perhaps as much as we are by him. He’s incredibly playful and curious and loves when musicians visit or anyone else he thinks particularly interesting. He’s an amazing creature and I miss him very much, it’s so wonderful to see these videos of him and his friends in mystic. Also for anyone complaining, he and Kela were captive bred. They can’t live in the wild. It was also requested that the whale facility become part of the aquarium as Mystic has a rich history with whaling, and because the local Native tribe (the Mashantucket Pequot people) have a love and admiration for whales - whales are sacred to many tribes.

His ( the beluga whale ) calm demeanor and the way he slowly moves his head back and forth. Almost like hes playing the violin himself. This whale just stole my heart. Wow. I can feel his emotions or hers. Wonderful. Just absolutely amazing.
Just like people have different interest, animals have different interest. The others animals were not interested, but look how focused this cute pie was. I was expecting him to move along, but even after the music stopped he stood there. I really love animals. They are so precious and innocent like children.
And then humans are saying animals do not have souls and can't have feelings. At the end, you can be the biggest ingenior of the world, if you do not have compassion and love for humans, animals and the Earth itself, then you are just a stupid human.
@@IamIsaiah144 I don't know about other animals but I can definitely confirm 1000% that cats do not feel remorse or regret , even when you yell and show them the pictures for the insurance claim from their 3 second high-speed catfight. Gotta luv em.
Fun fact: the ‘bump’ on a Beluga’s head is called the Melon and is used to aid in its receiving of echolocating pulses the Beluga or it’s companions may make, so when the Beluga starts pressing its head against the glass it’s akin to a person pressing their ear to a closed door or a wall to hear the other side better, they are really listening keenly!
Yes… The senses of animals are more acute.. I’m pretty sure the beluga heard him play.. ❤ and I think it meant so so much to the wonderful violinist who seems confined to his chair..
OMG if they love it this much someone should be playing for them all the time. How magnificent to be able to communicate human to majestic animal like this. Thank you for sharing. 💜

If anyone's curious, cetaceans basically hear sound through their jawbone, so sweet Juno there was pressing his snoot against the glass so he could hear better!
You do realise that is how it breathes right? It leaned forward just so that it could take oxygen. It’s a mammal unlike a fish. But it’s definitely intrigued by the music....
@Joseph Anand ...it's taking oxygen from the glass? also nobody is saying that isn't how it breathes, the person just said that they thought it was cute
Now who says that a Beluga doesn't enjoy Good Music 🎶!! The guy playing this violin is extraordinary and this Beluga would agree 👍🏽!! Phenomenal 🎇 Video and Thanks for Sharing💜🤍💟🤍💜
Everyone asking about if he could hear it through the glass, as it's a vibration and whales are very sensitive to vibrations I think he heard it perhaps more deeply than we could perceive with our decibel perception range. He was clearly very captivated up until violin dude stopped.
Beluga whales have a sonar bruh they click noise underwater it travels around bounces off shit like creatures for food and rocks and ish and then bounces back and is collected in the lower jaw as information
So thick glass isn't sound proof?...stop that disneyfication of animals...its maybe interested by the movement...any food here? No.no food...swim another round in this mind numbing basin....
@Frost Flower same, maybe you just don't know how to listen. It sounds passionate, I'll give him that, but there's a few slip ups and that really hurts when it's only one violin playing
Gon I’m sure! Most sentient creatures are far connected by telepathy & to the Earth...civilized man is the most disconnected & unintelligent of all creatures...I’m totally convinced of this! Look at the bow of the violin.
And then he started booping the glass ❤️🥺🥺
And people like me eat animals.
The look on the whale's face says it all , happiness
Oh yeah that Beluga loved it
Yes… The senses of animals are more acute.. I’m pretty sure the beluga heard him play.. ❤ and I think it meant so so much to the wonderful violinist who seems confined to his chair..
@@MsHSpring yes there was a momentary bond shared there and not gonna lie, moistened my eyes a bit lol
Since they communicate by sound must be mesmerized by an unusual sound 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
That was beautiful in every way! Accept that the whale is not free. But the playing and the interaction was magic! ❤
OMG if they love it this much someone should be playing for them all the time. How magnificent to be able to communicate human to majestic animal like this. Thank you for sharing. 💜
No one’s gonna talk about the whale just vibing in the back?
Well he just broke up with his gal few days back, and this music makes him even sadder
1:30 he just e n t e r s 😂😂
Tig ol' Bitties if you think those are insults, you are an obvious poorly educated child and need to start using your heart and brain and grow up a little.
@@Cassxowary Look you can be gay, you can be closeted, or you can be a virgin. But if you're all 3 then that's just sad and I feel bad for your parents
@@sandippaul468 I feel bad for the beluga's friend
Love how one of them is so curious and focused about the music. Meanwhile his friend is just vibing head empty in the back
I crapped my pants laughing when I read this then saw his stoned friend behind him
Animals are individuals like we are 😊
@@M_SC lol -Yes exactly!! One’s ‘mesmerized’ other is rockin’ out 😂
Does anyone know what 🤔his friend is?! That don't look nothing like no beluga 🐳whale. 🧐
least when it was swimming by the first time it didn't! 😅
I may be projecting, but it almost seems like the creature is 'feeling' out the notes and tempo with a slight delay. Beautiful
Just goes to show how intelligent they are. And the fact that he stayed there and listened to the whole thing is so cool! That they have a great attention span. They’re capable of great emotion.❤
Man: Plays beautiful melancholic music on his violin

Bruh i cant stop laughing now 😂😂😂😂🤣
How beautiful, I felt peaceful and calm watching this. Amazing connection between the two. I must admit it touched me deeply ❤❤❤
Not only am I amazed by this interaction, I’m VERY mesmerized ♥️
Plot twist: the Beluga was actually a violinist in his past life
Do you mean past life?
@@sapphirefranchi8830 yeah he meant that 😂
Idk why this though made me tear up
You never know. Sometimes I see animals with so much personality that I wonder if they really were people in their past life...it’s amazing
Damn dude had to make it sad af
Title should've been: Humans memserized by Beluga mesmerized by Human playing violin.
Or: Just another human doing a douchebag thing in front of a captive
@@Automedon2 Fuck off commie.
@@Automedon2 That was real...
@@Automedon2 I would rather say, a Human making the day better for a captive. That was a bright moment in this narrow life i assume. I wish him freedom and I wish him a concert everyday.
Yes.
Very sweet. These wonderful creatures should never have to live in captivity!
The favourite animal award goes to the beluga whale ❤😍. Absolutely adorable.
If anyone's curious, cetaceans basically hear sound through their jawbone, so sweet Juno there was pressing his snoot against the glass so he could hear better!
Yea, the sad thing is it probably sounds super muffled from the glass, if only there was a room with accoustic transfer in mind
This is just a proof that Music is a universal language..
So true. Animals are not much different from species to species. Humans think we are superior. I don't agree.
Agreed 100%
@@tana5098 superior by intelligence but by spirit, I would disagree as well
I mean... technically music, as we know it, is unique to humans.
@@jht3fougifh393 you mean by enjoying it? Definitely not, plenty of animals enjoy it
Just came across this, how beautiful brought a tear to my eyes😢 .
It's so heartwarming and beautiful! These beings are so sweet. Oh mankind, be good to your animal-brothers and play them sweet songs, they love it!
When the beluga pressed its head against the window. So cute the soft spot. Like a big marshmallow baby.

Yes,is sooo cute 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕👻💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
You do realise that is how it breathes right? It leaned forward just so that it could take oxygen. It’s a mammal unlike a fish. But it’s definitely intrigued by the music....
@Joseph Anand ...it's taking oxygen from the glass?
also nobody is saying that isn't how it breathes, the person just said that they thought it was cute
@@magma1264 you need to google how a Dolphin Breathes.
They are very intelligent animals! Seemed to also be emotionally touched too.
Now who says that a Beluga doesn't enjoy Good Music 🎶!! The guy playing this violin is extraordinary and this Beluga would agree 👍🏽!! Phenomenal 🎇 Video and Thanks for Sharing💜🤍💟🤍💜
The one thing this planet might miss when all humans go extinct is our music.
Exactly
True🙏
@crgzero stfu.. report this kid
Covid19: did someone say human extinction?
Alfa Romeo Shut up with that bullshit and go buy some toilet paper.
So it definitely heard
@@AM-fh7ek sound is vibration......
David Thomas Well, it’s like they say, “you can’t touch music, but music can touch you.”
And you could see him/her pressing his/her nose and forehead up against the glass, maybe to hear more clearly.
These are some of the most aware and intelligent of all whales… and the cutest and sweetest!
Beautiful Creature and Music 🌟💫🌟💕
This musician plays so beautifully. He could not ask for a more appreciative audience. Communion transcends language.
Patricia Alley I think communion is a catholic ritual
You mean good vibrations transcends species.
Well said Patricia.
So thick glass isn't sound proof?...stop that disneyfication of animals...its maybe interested by the movement...any food here? No.no food...swim another round in this mind numbing basin....
@@KoiYakultGreenTea Nah, it's a human ritual and existed long before catholicism.
There’s something very mystical of the way they swim. Like an ancient people who chose the water instead of the land and now swim forever like spirits
Wow what a thought brother.
That’s close to what happened. Whale ancestors were once land-dwelling mammals that chose to go back into the water.
Beautiful & poetic.
Derek No wonder people thought they (and the sea cows) were mermaids!
Ok, Joe Rogan.

It was very good.

This is so cuteeee. The beluga is like “whoa I’ve never heard a whale call like this before”
They are sentient beings who can enjoy music and differentiate it from their usual day-to-day sounds.
Gon I’m sure! Most sentient creatures are far connected by telepathy & to the Earth...civilized man is the most disconnected & unintelligent of all creatures...I’m totally convinced of this! Those still in the bush never lost their telepathy nor their Earth connection, as their feet never leave the Earth! They are all taught to be leaders & their survival skills & intuition far surpass most...like the natives of the Americas!
