Angel Studios CEO Responds to ‘Sound of Freedom’ Praise and Criticism

- The anti-human trafficking film “Sound of Freedom” has raked in more than $85 million since opening on July Fourth.
Variety has praised the movie, saying it “makes the desire to ‘take action’ seem more than an action-movie gesture.” And World magazine called the movie a “wake-up call, reminding Americans of the evil that’s perpetrated both inside and outside our borders.” But not all reviews have been positive.
Asked why he thinks some left-leaning media outlets have critiqued the film in this way, Angel Studios CEO Neal Harmon says the film is not political. “Everyone who’s seen this film knows that it has nothing to do with politics or conspiracy, and that it’s just a great, true story, well-told,” Harmon says, adding that “if you’re on the fence about it, you want to see for yourself, you can pick up a free ticket, and you can find out for yourself what this phenomenon is about.”
Harmon joins “The Daily Signal Podcast” to discuss the success “Sound of Freedom” has experienced at the box office and to address the praise and criticism of the movie. Harmon also explains how to see the movie for free while it is still in theaters.
Few people know that he, Neal Harmon, is also a hero. He’s spent YEARS in courtrooms being sued by companies like Disney. He has soldiered on despite enormous amount of stress and people trying to ruin him. So happy to see their tremendous success FINALLY!!!

So at the part (where the plot contradicts itself) after Ballard resigns from DHS and then in the next sequence his old boss from DHS promises to supply a unit of armed enforcements, I was done. You could have made an actual interesting film about the issue of CSA but the ball was dropped within the first few scenes (Ballard's partner just "can't take it anymore"?) and I really TRIED with this movie. Welp you got my $11.00 towards your cause (which I don't regret). Bill Camp was the only adult whose character I "believed" Jim SUCKED AS A PROTAGONIST. AND THOSE CHILD ACTORS WERE THE REAL STARS.
I'm sure all people who criticize things you like are "evil".

The movie theater I saw it in was left somber. During the film I could hear loud gasps and some cried. Personally, I left there compelled to let others know about this horrific truth. I really appreciate the tasteful portrayal during the entire film. No explicit scenes, nothing fowl. I’d show this in schools for instance just to create awareness. The movie is worth seeing by everyone and May God bless those who took initiative to defend those children who find themselves hopeless and without a way out.

This movie is a great example of the principle, "Moral progress results in inner serenity," in that if you aren't a pedophile there is no guilt, no fear, no problem in defending this. That is what it is like to live morally, but with everything. Never having to worry, fret, always true and transparent with nothing to hide.

Any citizen who frequently visits any Walmart, even in the US or Canada, will be able to find near the cashiers, a large blackboard, where multiple photos and information of recently disappeared children and adolescents can be seen. Thank you for this interview. So, as ANGEL CEO Neal Harmon explains, they have not released SoF to foreign theaters or to UA-cam channels yet (we eagerly await for SoF to come to the UK). Clearly, when some UA-camrs are pretending to offer the SoF right now on their channels, it's just back-to-back trailers or fake click bait. Don't fall for it. There is a need to know who financed the movie, who financially benefits. Also the same goea for the aftercare program. There are non profits that have some shady characters involved. Not political at all but we need to know that everything is legitimate. Dont want those victims to be victimized again.
The Left and Right have been involved for a long time. Govermental officals know about it and involved in it.
I bet you can find that out. I have a friend that works for the O.U.R of which Tim Ballard runs. And I’ve met him once briefly. Such a great guy.

@@timrowell94 many care who gets money off of the exploitation of the victims. The trafficking hotline has been found to be linked to the Clinton Foundation. I have a hard time believing Tim could be involved in that, since he's dedicated his life and mental health to rescue and rehab these precious boys and girls. Many non profits start off with good intentions, end up being taken over by organized criminals and turn it into a money laundering operation that victimize the ones they are supposed to be helping. Transparency is needed in this matter so all can get behind and support this fully.

Obviously the budget, subject matter, time limits and artform milieu of narrative filmmaking dictate a certain streamlining of truth-based incidents when honing reality into a focused forey of fine tuned rhythms representing veracity with versamilitude.
Movies with merit require pointedly paced plot drives with propulsively deliberate momentum - by aptly deft use of sublimely finessed time compression, composit characters, merged moments, and isolated emphases. While in this case also substituting to secure the confidentiality of certain ongoing tactical methods of tradecraft subterfuge, as well as protecting the identities and integrities of actual mission opporators, assets and surviving victims - by hautingly hinting at the harrowing horrors, rather than explicitly exploiting all its dark details for the sheer sensationalism to shock and sear sermons at the indifferent expense of other's turmoil and trauma. Thank God these artist understood their vocation was ultimately grace.
