Seeing how your family was so accepting of your boyfriend and how they treated him just like another member of the family brought tears to my eyes. My family was also very accepting of my boyfriend. He actually gets better Christmas presents from my family than I do and I am pretty convinced they like him better than they like me :). I live in the United States though and while it is not perfect here, I do realize that it is more difficult for family's to be as accepting as yours was in S. Korea. Thank you for sharing this video. I can just imagine how proud you must be of your family right now.

Your dad touching Kim's cheek... What a blessed family, so full of love... I remember growing up there was a gay couple that lived next door. They were together for decades, still they couldn't get married. No matter how much they loved each other, they weren't able to do so. Still people in the neighborhood supported them and were all kind. As I grew up and realized that I might be gay, I never felt that I was wrong and that I should be ashamed of myself for that. I saw how they were hardworking and kind people, just trying to live their lives the best they could. That gave me confidence to come out when I was 15. My family supported me and gave me all the love I needed at that moment. Not long after that, in 2013 marriage equality happened here in my country. My neighbors could finally marry. And I could start my adult life knowing that my rights are respected, and if I ever find love like that neighbor couple did, I would be protected by law. I pray everyday that marriage equality will happen in Korea. I want you and Kim to know that sooner or later, even if it takes a long time you're also going to live to be able to get married if you wish to do so. Keep fighting for that! I'm always rooting for you and your family!

Tengo claro que no me vais a entender, pero me apetece deciros que sois unos valientes, y creo que habéis hecho lo que había que hacer sin más tapujos.Os sigo hace ya un tiempo y no esperaba menos de vosotros. Parece que todo ha salido fenomenal. Os felicito a vosotros y a toda vuestra familia. Sobretodo a los recién casados. Ha sido una ceremonia preciosa y todo ha salido como debía ser. Ya es hora de que vuestra sociedad se abra y acepte que las cosas como son. Vivimos en el siglo 21, hay que asumirlo. Ante todo he de decir que respeto y admiro muchas cosas de vuestro país y vuestra cultura. Soy bastante fan, tal vez porque desde la vieja europea, estoy un poco cansada y aburrida de lo que ya tengo tanto visto y aprendido. Podría hablaros en francés o inglés, pero he decidido hacerlo en el idioma de mi familia que es el español. Os escribo desde Valencia capital (Sur este de España). Os deseo que sigáis tal cual sois y por supuesto una buena vida juntos en la mejor de las circunstancias posibles. Un abrazo virtual a los dos.

Your dad touching Kim's cheek... What a blessed family, so full of love... I remember growing up there was a gay couple that lived next door. They were together for decades, still they couldn't get married. No matter how much they loved each other, they weren't able to do so. Still people in the neighborhood supported them and were all kind. As I grew up and realized that I might be gay, I never felt that I was wrong and that I should be ashamed of myself for that. I saw how they were hardworking and kind people, just trying to live their lives the best they could. That gave me confidence to come out when I was 15. My family supported me and gave me all the love I needed at that moment. Not long after that, in 2013 marriage equality happened here in my country. My neighbors could finally marry. And I could start my adult life knowing that my rights are respected, and if I ever find love like that neighbor couple did, I would be protected by law. I pray everyday that marriage equality will happen in Korea. I want you and Kim to know that sooner or later, even if it takes a long time you're also going to live to be able to get married if you wish to do so. Keep fighting for that! I'm always rooting for you and your family!
