Looks similar to my Philips fc950 . I know Philips owned Marantz at the time . Or I could be completely wrong lol 😂 Oh and I absolutely love your vids on cassette Decks .
You did not set the power suply to 240 volt ? I see some extra primary windings , it wil save the power suply capacitors . Great Job !! For the pinch rollers use some "was verzachter " cheap and good !
I don't see you doing anything with the clutch on the serving reel. This ALPS mechanism often has problems with that. If you want a low and stable W&F, the felt pad should be cleaned and the spring should be adjusted to achieve ~10g/cm on the serving reel. Maybe everything is ok, but to be sure you need to use a torque meter cassette. This is important in all double capstan decks.
ok my Marantz SD 60 deck is full working no problem , but playback level seems a bit low, music sound is somewhat dull or flat tape head has have tape head azimuth done which is abit better but playback still seems lacking PS my tape is in mint condition its had a easy life with low hour use overall
@@cassettedeck-walkman-repair yes lacking in high frequency but some cassettes sound brighter better than another's lol 🙂 maybe I have listened to CDs for too long my ears are trained to that higher quality sound
Hi , I'd like to purchase, one of your speed calibration cassettes, As im not entirely happy with the one i have from Analogue Media Techologies. Reason being it's got two tones 440HZ and 3150HZ , but when i set the speed to one tone it doesn't entirely corespond with the higher tone , or even side A to side B , there is also discrepancies .Also do you make other calibration tapes ? How do i go about buying one from you . Thanks.
Awesome deck , nice work.
My famous German tape matches my homemade reference tape perfectly.
@@universalhead as you can see thats sadly not my experience with the german tape , thank you for the compliment !

@@kilospl w&f was 0.02-0.03% , stable and low , and no issues with back tension ?
@@cassettedeck-walkman-repair Good w&f, if he doesn't make a salad from the tape, it means that back tension is ok. ;)

Do you sell any of these units after you repair them?
some i put up for auction on ebay , but i typically only sell within europe as the $100 shipping to the usa is probably prohibitively expensive
@@cassettedeck-walkman-repair I understand! Thanks!

Musicality is hard to measure , when you say ‘flat’ do you mean lacking in high frequencies or something else ? Does it do the same on all cassettes?
