    Jerry, I sure wish you would send some of that rain towards the Texas Panhande. We are short more than 20 inches over the last two or three years. Love your videos. I didn't know Georgia had so many different things.

      Thanks so much. It’s a very interesting place. And just think, we saw it possibly at is peak. At the rate of deterioration, so much of this will collapse.

    Lots of rhododendron in the spring blooming. The church is usually open at least every time I went it was

    Right there at that wooden overlook we saw deer about 30 years ago. Bunch of stuff has washed away

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  3 роки тому

      Image the canyons are in constant change. We didn't see any deer during the hike, but saw quite a few on the drive there and back.

    If you are still there try the Cajun Corner in Eufaula, AL. for lunch or dinner. We have walked the canyons several times always a great time.

      Thanks. We’ll add to the list. Maybe a campground in Eufaula early next year.

    It is not outside of Cusseta, GA which is 19 miles south to Lumpkin.
    Our canyon is located in Stewart County GA city of Lumpkin, GA.
    The canyon isn't as deep as it use to be. When I was a youngster during late 60s to early 70s sneaking to watch soldiers from Ft Benning training exercises for rescuing folks who were trapped deep down.

    Great video you guys. Great details for someone that isn’t from Georgia. Do you think it’s safe for a single mom with two kids to make this hike?

      Thanks! Shouldn’t be any issues. We didn’t experience anything that made us feel unsafe. Plus they have a park ranger who’s walking in the park.

    Thank you so much for the video. All your trail information and tips were on point. We just got home today from the park and it is absolutely a must for everyone. Pictures and videos do not show the beauty of this canyon. Since we are from NC we made a loop stopping at Watson Mill Bridge State Park, Starr's Mill, the 22 mile riverwalk trail between Columbus GA and Phenix AL and Sweetwater Creek State Park. Again, thank you we will continue to watch your channel for more trip ideas.

    Jerry what a wonderful video could you please share with us the equipment you use for your hike such as your pack shoes jackets.

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  3 роки тому

      Hi Brad. I use a simple day pack to hold the basics - water, energy bars, small first aid kit, etc. I’m a big fan of Merrell shoes. I prefer the low cut trail shoes. Joel likes the trail runners. They offer a lot of variety for fit and type of hiking. They have good grip, great soles, and are very comfortable.

    It looks like a really nice hike. You should come back and do it in the summer when things are green, I bet it would like even better.
