Just the clapper hitting the bell, it does bounce a lil bit but not much, its wooden shafted so I dont think it has the weight to hit the bell and stop so it bounces a bit
I live far away from buckfast (3-4 hour drive) and that was the only video of a bell making any sound whilst I was there. I will try to get back at some point.
@@RingerThomas so many people want me to ring right handed. But I don't get why. I'm more comfortable left handed. Also my tower cap is a lefty. Thanks for the encouragement.
Yes it did, we went up to go check. Unfortunately the clapper has gotten very stiff and is now very hard to get up right, meaning I can no longer ring it up in peal with the 7th.
Well done!!
wonderful bell
Meravigliosa!
Great acoustics
When you touch the Sallie you look like in your head your saying ‘’I’m hear I’ve made it’’
As in I've nearly got the bell up or I'm finally ringing a bell?
But yes when I got to the abbey I was like yes I'm finally here
Shame I can no longer do this style of ringing up.
Why
@@MaxTheRinger Health reasons. I think it is agrevated by bell ringing more especially suspected issues with the stomach.
That does make sense and also cathedral bells are normally left up
@@MaxTheRingerwhat about the clock chime
@@Coreytheringer2345 normally the clock chime may strike on a old bell that can’t move anymore from an old ring or there is no clock
It’s sounds more like 32 cwt
I've had a few people say that. I kind of see why as it is quite a deep note for the weight.
What causes that knocking
I thought it might be the Clapper hitting the bell twice or it being lose?

Ok
@@RingerPeterthat sounds like the note c#
@Bellringer22 yeah it's Db/C#
@@RingerPeter oh ok it sounds quite nice though
Does it go well?
It goes very well
It sounds like a drum when it hits tbe bell
Why are you stopped post vedios about buckfast abbey bells

You did well there I must admit.
Thanks, first time ring in a year. Somehow didn't make a mess of it😂
@@RingerPeter You didn’t. Tbh I don’t like left handed ringing but you did well. Keep up the good work young man!

Join the club :) we move
What do you mean 'we move' ? 😁
Is the rope heavy
Not really
Did this go upright?
Yes it did, we went up to go check.
