You guys are lucky our tenor only had 3 strands left before it got took off and we’re only down to an old one now which is in bad condition and it’s not a rope that’s suitable for the weight of our tenor which is 25cwts we ordered quite a long time ago it was beginning of 2024
@Ringerjay2 We also ordered at the beginning of 2024, but we had some issues with our enquiry being lost, and it took a while to sort out. Some of our ropes were in poor conditions, however salvageable, so they were gifted to the church at Skelton.
@ it’s the 5 and tenor that need new rope but we don’t have any of the thick ropes for the big one the tower captain at chesterfield likes matching ropes and ours isn’t really fit for a ton and a quarter weight bell and that’s already worn I feel if nothing is done soon it’s going to end up snapping you should come and ring on them it’s not really that far from North Yorkshire
They sound like a cracking 8 to ring :) new ropes look good 😀
