This is what D&D is all about. It not only tests the drivers but puts the cars through the ringer. For this to be such a recent purchase NOT really tested, NOT set up as a D&D car PLUS your first event you should be proud of your accomplishments so far. the best thing is you are a popular personality in racing and you got out into the mainstream public eye. Sponsors for things more suited to this type of racing will be knocking on your door in the not to distant future if they have not already. If you stick with it this car will evolve to be a competitor in its class.

Amazing sportsman in dealing with the continous rockers issues, that would've driven most people into insanity and giving up on the whole trip, you brought spares and you gave it yalls best shot! Can't let the negative ruin the positives of a forever memory. Something as big as sick week. Long road trip /checkpoints and badass racing event💯

Ok now I get it. Billy and Scuba Steve are the only two racing, while the old man is following with Tony in the Malibu, and Tommy and Allison are in the El Camino bot as support cars. Now that’s a nice family trip.

Bill wasn't willing to ruin the Malibu and put a cage in it because it's not a reversible mod.. so they are doing the drive with them . . El caminos a 6-cylinder that was never competing .. that left just billys 55 after Jimmy dales accident took them out

I’d rather see the No Name cars and drivers, the up and coming (hopefully) newcomers to the event (kinda like SRC is but the others we don’t know) and the guys that are still riding the struggle bus waiting for things to finally click or they find their break and finally get noticed. Sure, we all always enjoy seeing the Jeff Lutz’s, the Alex Taylor’s (nobody can ever get enough of that incredible young lady!) the Cletus McFarland’s and the list goes on for days, but what we never get much chance to see are the guys out there that have been daily riding the Struggle Bus for the past 3 years trying to make it to their very own first “Sick Week” in their very own car that they have been working on building for the past 5 years to get to this point and while some are able to complete the week, some don’t, they’ve all poured every ounce of blood, sweat, and tears into these machines that we all so dearly love and admire and I can only imagine the excitement that fills their body when they realize that one of the Top Tier racing channels gave them 20-30 seconds of coverage alongside the best of the best street/track/NPK racers. Sometimes it’s the small things like that that will give a guy the motivation and fire after getting brutally beat up in one of these events and maybe wasn’t able to complete the event but just being able to see himself amongst the Top Dawgs of the industry sometimes ignites that passion to fight through the adversity we are all plagued with, to be able to come back next year and hopefully do better!! This is why I almost always fight for and root for the underdogs of the world!! I would sit down and watch an hour or two long video of No Name cars/drivers every night before I’ll click on the video for Jeff Lutz, Ryan Martin, Alex Taylor, etc (I do watch the videos about them but there’s always vast amounts of coverage of them all that I really enjoy learning about these new comers first and seeing new cars, new ideas, fresh smiling/worrying faces etc) and I really appreciate when Tommy & Alison and the team do give these rising stars a few seconds of spotlight and I know these new folks greatly appreciate it also. It wasn’t that long ago that the SRC team themselves was still aboard the Struggle Bus (and in some ways still riding it once in a bit but they know how it feels when Farmtruck & Azn interview them or just get a clip of them for 10-15 seconds in one of their videos and the profound effect it has on someone trying to decide if it’s all been worth it when suddenly that short clip changed everything!!
Ok folks, I’m sorry I got long winded here but it just never gets said and is important for the continuation of our sport we live. I really appreciate the mixture of coverage that Tommy/Billy edit into their video’s and I just wanted to say how important I believe that mixture really is on the sport and without continuing to bring fresh faces in and fighting with tooth n nail, a sport we all have dearly loved since it began, we can lose it and I do not want to see that happen!! Please keep up the great work Tommy, Billy, & Allison!! Y’all are doing a phenomenal job besides being incredible drivers!!! Thank you all for Listening, take care everyone and be safe out there and thank you to anyone that makes any of these videos available to all of us to watch, especially the newer guys we don’t see very often!!

Stick with it Billy. Even the seasoned guys have been wrenching on their cars all week. Heck, Tom Bailey is only 1 for 3 at finishing his own event. True test of man and machine there. Events like these will for sure help you to get a car lined because it will expose their weaknesses. The comradery and the memories that will last a lifetime is what its all about. I'm sure some SRC upgrades are in store for the 55' once y'all make it back home.
I agree with Tony I’d do a solid roller cam and lifters and springs on that big block, but I’d definitely go through it to see what’s going on with it. Best of luck guys, keep up the great work and thanks for bringing us along.

My racing days are done due to age, but i did tag along in Sick Ward in my El Camino ,and I had just as much fun as if i'd been racing on the track, too. Sick Week is just full of great people and a great atmosphere , I highly recommend it for those that want to experience Sick Week but maybe arent up to the race aspect of it!

I had 1984 Olympic addition s15 in Canada blue with the stripes put a 350 in it in 1988 sold the truck and then bought it back lol..wish I still had it I saw Billy's truck I was hooked on this channel.

I will never use octane booster again.. Every brand does that to the plugs and is not ideal.. Great job on your 1st run guys..I'm sure a gear vendor overdrive would be a nice addition to help with the long highway runs.. Look on the bright side.. You have damn near the sweetest looking ride of Sick week.. I just can't get over how sweet that 55 looks with the paint scheme and cowl hood.. Im def jealous..

Damn, Billy the Kid and the SRC gang, the 55 Chevy 210 sedan of yours is boss as hell and sure brings back fond memories for me. In the late 60's, I had a 55 Chevy 210 2 door sedan that I spent a number of years modifying. 3rd motor was a 500+hp 331ci Corvette sb with Pontiac Muncie 4 speed and a 4.11 posi rear (4.88 strip). Car painted 69 Caddy Sapphire Mist blue. Best time in quarter 11.96 at 114+mph. I worked in a speed shop 6 years part time while attending college full time, so I couldn't drive a slouch. Sold the 5-5 in early '70, BIG mistake. Best of Luck with your 55 on the tracks and cruisin' ! Love your videos guys !

I hope to have my c10 Squarebody ready for next year. The 5.3 is reliable but needs bushings and ball joints. No trailer the whole trip. No hotel or B&B. Just a bed cover and mattress 😂Hope Jimmy Heals up well. Bad deal rt there.
Jimmy is gonna heal RedEye but we all need to keep him in our prayers brother and pray that the hard headed goof we’ve all fallen in love with his huger than life personality that just can’t be contained and pray that he listens to Mo Dale right now and the doctors and if he will do that then he will heal just fine and hopefully he doesn’t say, “oh I’m fine, I’m just gonna change the plugs in Magic real quick”, he’s at a critical point of his healing and he can spin it the other way quickly if he doesn’t listen to them right now. My wife was a Burn Nurse for 20+ years and I’ve seen way more than I ever wanted to see or hear about but in the last video, Mo Dale had him looking great for the injury he has so I don’t believe he could be in better care right now unless Jesus Christ himself comes to personally do his wound care!! It’s a hard pill for Jimmy to swallow I know to take a seat on the sidelines for this next month but that’s sure better than having to go back for grafts because he was impatient. Us men are bad about that RedEye, we are real bad about It!!! But if he’ll listen to Mo and the docs, then we will have our favorite Johnny back in no time ready to be running Frosty and the new small block all over the place, Rap, Rapp, Rappp, lol 😂

The 55 id the perfect car for a drag-n-drive it just needs some fine tuning and prep that being said so is the Malibu and the elcamino its the experience of making new friends and testing the equipment. Allison and Tommy you two are doing a awesome job keep it up and Billy you couldn't ask for a better crew the old man,tony,and tanner. God bless and as always be safe.

To me anyway, I would suggest talking to Nolan about the possibility of a different cam. It really is sounding like the lobe ramp on the existing cam is just too aggressive. Its rare, but it has been known to happen. To me, even with aluminum rockers, it just seems like your going thru WAY too many of them. I think your dad's suggestion to have switched over to stainless would help, I think you have other issues. Best to find and fix those issues and then switch to stainless. I know some would debate that with me. How many more rockers can break before you really start putting debris thru the oiling system?

Billy, tommy, src family. After you guys build some cars that are specifically build for drag and drive events. I think yall should ne the first ones to ever set up , and have, the first meaningful street race while in between tracks. Nothing crazy, but maybe a 200 dollar grudge race with someone else thats doing the drag and drive. I know how stupid it is, but stupid makes for great tv sometimes lol

Buddy with the GTO is hardcore he is a Canadian and he drives his car all the way from Alberta Canada to Florida races it all week and then drives the thing home and he has been doing that for a bunch of years. Before Sick week started he would go to the Rocky Mountain Race week and the guy is not babying that car when he makes a pass he runs it all out.
We used that octane boost in the 80s, left red dust everywhere, carb tailpipes.
