@Johnny Mack I know its boring being stuck inside but surely you have better things to do then complain in the comment section of a band you don't even like. You can do better Johnny.
The idea of "46 and 2" chromosomes is really more symbolic than scientific, representing the desire to evolve. The song heavily incorporates Carl Jung's ideas about the "shadow self" and how denial and repression of these "shadow parts" of ourselves inhibits from growing spiritually and emotionally. Karl Jung expounded on the idea that we needed to have awareness of our darker impulses, incorporate that shadow into our conscious selves and transmute the impulses of the shadow into positive action. And thank you for listening to an incredible song! I love your reactions, and I love the incredible attitude you bring to this corner of the internet. I've suggested this before, but you should really listen to this cover of the song: ua-cam.com/video/mYKLvYGqaC0/v-deo.html It's done by a bunch of kids at the O'Keefe Music Foundation. It will allow you to see the intricacies of the song as it is performed, and it will allow you to experience the work of some very incredible kids. It's well worth watching, even if you don't do a reaction video! Shine on!
Google says: 46 and 2 is a theory of evolution and the premise is that humans would deviate from the current state of human DNA which contains 44 autosomes and 2 sex chromosomes to 46. It's part of their "spirituality". Someone who has 46 & 2 reaches the Christ Consciousness. Essentially it is a sort of enlighten state. It allows a human to evolve to the next leveling being.
Do you feel that pull? That heavy draw? That's the tool hole.... It's both dark and bright... It's deep and you won't be the same after. Time for you to be next on the ride. We are watching.
46 & 2 is a reference to the next evolution in the base pair chromosomes of the homo sapien sapien genome. He is basically talking about trying to attain the next level of evolution.
There's nothing quite like watching somebody hear Tool for the first time. I don't care what background someone's from what color they are what music they like what genre they do it doesn't matter you can't argue, Tool makes badass music hands down some of the tightest s*** there is. By the way this song is about human evolution and the next step.
I watch A LOT of reaction channels and have seen A LOT of reactions to 46 & 2. It always amazes me how most of them have barely a reaction to Danny Carey’s amazing drumming in the middle of this song. Thank you for noticing and commenting on it. The dude is a beast.
I feel like you being a musician allows you to appreciate Tool more than other reactors. Like, what you said about how the vocals sit in the mix is a really important detail that 90% of people would never even think about. Cool channel, glad I found it!
I'm so happy you did this song, great reaction!! If you wanna see some talented kids, then I recommend a reaction to "O'Keefe Music Foundations kids cover of 46&2"
I just watched your Corona video . Nice I liked it . You got talent to spare.. now TOOL is my favorite group. I hope you find them awesome. There are a very complexed deep band. I know you will be impressed.
God ,..I am still singing that song......cant get it out of my black helmet wearing head.. ...God it just keeps replaying it self in my head.......no dont ....dont....AAAAAAYYYYYYYY ...you spin me right round baby right round like a record baby right round round round.... my God theres no C.D player in these stupid tye fighters. 3 more light years to go tell tell I get to the death star.....may be I can find a comit or meteor to slam into and stop this.. O there it goes again....you spin. M
And actually analyzing it which is awesome... Tool is one of the greatest bands of our time..... They are an art form everything from their album covers to their music
Great reaction! When I was in a band, I'd practice my drums to this.. We never covered it tho.. And I wasn't this good either... But, close! LOL Another Great song by 'TOOL' is Vicarious'.. Another track I practiced to..
And here I was thinking I discovered them too late.... 15 years ago. Better late then never! One of the most influential bands that's evolved my music taste immensely. Keep going 👍
Thanks for the reaction... if you love the amazing drums, strap on a seat belt and react to ticks and leeches... Danny Carey never disappoints.... he's like Jordan 😉😎😎
Huge fan of tool , one song satisfied my psyche. Tool army is caught up in the void of idiocy. This song was about how Carl Jung and Floyd pointed out the underlining structure of our subconscious leading to a higher understanding of psychology. The transformation of the darkness in ones self into a deeper awareness what you do with it is up to the individual. This song is about healing. -INFJ.
Ogt down from '92 here. In short, this song is about being a better person pushing forward leaving the the old person "picking scabs again" feeling sorry for themselves in their own chaotic insecure delusions behind "evolving" to the next stage of you. Sure you'll get your more elaborate in-depth analysis of evolving to a higher "consciousness" yada yada from the gallery. Ultimately their songs is about what it means to you. To me, it means stop feeling sorry for yourself, get off your ass, and push through to be the better person. One of my favorite songs to work out to. This and Pushit it are IMO the two greatest rock songs of all time.
Love that u can appreciate wide variety of music. U should try metallicas orion or to live is to die. Instrumentals but awesome music. Stay blessed and safe out there
Carl Jung and the shadow, the red book. 48 + 2 is adding to the genome of our dna to advance us as a species. shedding my skin, picking my scabs, this is wat the song speaks of
Mike Danielz I’ve been revisiting Undertow lately. It’s always been my least favorite full length. But I’m now realizing how fucking HEAVY it is. Sylvia Massey is a master of low-end.
Gforce racing is dead on , but it's also it's about going through the process of metamorphosis whether it be spiritual, mental, physical , or growth of any kind. To evolve to a higher level or higher consciousness of self and spirit and we must have our "shadow" our darkness and or fears to evolve. But tools songs always have dual if not tripple meanings and a huge part of how they are written allow space for the listeners interpretation and to connect with the listener on a deaper level
Maynard is deep....him and Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, I don't really think anyone writes music, or could, about some of the stuff that fills these 2 guys minds....
Okay, there's a lot that comes up in the comments about the meaning of 46 & 2 but that don't quite get or are reading things into the lyrics that aren't being said. I think what we can take from the lyrics and what they're referring to in Karl Jung's theory is that 42 & 2 chromosomes (that's 44 chromosomes (some can use a more exact definition of "chromosomes" here and two sex chromosomes) is what some very limited number of people have in the world today. To make a long story short, they see everything as one, including all people knowing what you're thinking by merely thinking. Like were all cells that make up the one body. At some point in human evolution another two genes were added that most of the rest of humanity now share--that's a 44 & 2 chromosome expression. in defining it, I'll let everybody insert their own definition of how we differ from the 42 & 2s. What Carl Jung suggested was that eventually we would add another two chromosomes whereby we would be able to see into our subconscious and wouldn't need to repress the usually unhealthy emotions that reside in "The Shadow Man," or subconscious. In facing our negative emotions, they won't then express themselves against others or in working against our own attempts to arrive at the truth. These people will have two additional chromosomes added resulting in 46 & 2 chromosomes. Now this is what I see in the lyrics. A complete Jungian explanation can be had by reading what he actually wrote.
You want to get cool ? Band Maid, 5 beautiful phenomenal musicians from Japan. Who can really rock and roll your world, if you would just give them a chance. It's the type of group and band that you will say to yourself. Why didn't I check these ladies out sooner. I kid you not with that statement ! They are the real deal, just give them a chance. Not many bands playing this kind of quality rock music today.
I love....LOVE....watching people react to this masterpiece. People cannot help but marvel at the perfection that is this song. It gets inside of you and lifts you to a higher plane of existence. 46 & 2 is a Carl Jung theorem. Currently, humankind exist at 23 pairs of chromosomes. 44 & 2. The two is our sex determinant. Male or female. The rest make up our DNA. In jungian theory, Carl Jung surmises that we will reach a higher plane of existence. Essentially, we will grow two more chromosomes. This will put us at one with nature. Constructs like money, politics Etc, will seem petty, small and pointless. We will rise above the banality of these soulless, heartless, empty desires. We will evolve into...more. Most simplistic way I can put it, without writing a 20 Page thesis.

The tool army will never be satisfied until you react to the entire discography. Welcome to the rabbit hole
@Johnny Mack Actually the rift's are creative , not like Iron Maiden but they're probably better than most stuff you have came up with on the guitar.
Johnny Mack doesn't have to like Tool. I like 'em.
@Johnny Mack I know its boring being stuck inside but surely you have better things to do then complain in the comment section of a band you don't even like. You can do better Johnny.
@Johnny Mack really man?
@Johnny Mack You really don't understand music do ya
I love that you just discovered TOOL ❤👍
She's reacted to them before
"Better late than never", Johnny. Nothing at all wrong with that.
What did tool song did you react to first?

Carl Jung is a demi-god among men.
Those kids covered the shit out this song! I think I may like it better than the original 😬📣🔈🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I saw the video of the kids cover along time ago and I hate to say it, because I love Tool, but I like the kids cover more than the original!

Carl Jung approves this reply!
To become "God like". In short. You can create out of just a thought.
The 46 and 2 theory is completely bogus. I love this song, I just completely ignore the lyrics as they are nonsense.
@@DavidTangman yes I agree . Its 46 and 3. Manard was Off by one.
@@darthvadar2757 LOL!!!
I can tell by the way you closed your eyes in the beginning that you feel it as we all do; welcome to the tool army.
