- The finest saber I have ever made. I've been slowly designing this lightsaber for over 3 years. It's just been in the last year that I have committed to finally finishing it.
The Desert Dragon is a saber made as if by a Jedi living on Tatooine. The bone, etching, and crystal are all from the Krayt Dragon. The heart of the saber is the Krayt Dragon Pearl, which is a genuine quartz sphere.
This saber has the best tech from Plecter Labs - the Crystal Focus 7. As well as the Colour Extender and RICE interface for limitless blade colour combinations.
I believe you are making the best custom sabers in the world. Not knocking others but your designs, you can see the time you put into it.
I would give my left arm for such a saber. I truly would.
Best looking lightsaber I've ever seen, seriously.
This is beautiful
Really nice saber, this has to be my favorite design of yours. The spherical crystal is really nice.
oh my god, your savers are insane
Well done rob I had no Idea you were that creative if I was a jedi that would be my lightsaber
I am extremely impressed i've been watching your videos for nearly 5 years now, and its insane how far you've come with this business. Any chance of trying to do a fulcrum 4 after this? or maybe a blaster?
Thanks!
Fulcrum 4... someday. Blaster - most definitely!
Very nice work
Gahh! I hate being broke!
Ahahahahhahaha first in 6 years
It's so beautifuuuul *drools*, excellent touch on the sphere crystal, i always imagined how one would look in a light saber.
Josh: ITS SPHERICAL!!
That thing is beautiful! Excellent work!
Rob this is by far your best saber. I absolutely love your work. I truly cannot wait for the day that I get one of your masterpieces. Keep up the amazing work and I will see you next quarter.
This guys a legend
That is Awesome Rob! I especially like the Crystal Perl Chamber, very clean. It is worth every penny. If I had 33 Yards of Cabbage, i would own your Marvelous Art "Desert Dragon"
Very beautiful saber!
that's really sick, nice work
That is gorgeous
reminds me of Starkillers blade from Force unleashed one
Ohhh nice I would love to buy one this is a beauty
Really nice work.. It would be awesome if if there was a way for the Crystal to be shown without sliding the housing down that also shows the circuitry - or in other words if there was a separate housing that would slide down separately over the the main section of the original housing where the circuitry is so it can be used in display mode in some stand - and while speaking of stands it would be cool in some small plug can be hidden so it can sit on a stand with that Crystal glowing for an entire day or more... Las but not leas would also be nice if the kill key could some how also attached to the unit so when removed could never get lost.
But great work...wish I had the money to buy one for me..
i love the spinning sounds, something saberforge and ultrasabers do not have...
Amazing as always sir!
Awesome work. It's beautiful :D
To add to it give it the darksaber from the Clone Wars series soundfont with a dragon's Roar when it activates or something similar to that aspect
I love the little acrylic stand in this video. Where can I get something simple and transparent like that? I bought a couple of picture-frame stands at the Container Store which do the job, but an actual stand would be lovely.
It was made by a friend. But you should ask around on the forums at fx-sabers.com
Calling it now a lightsaber powered like this is going to be in mandalorian season 2
Any lore they bring in from KOTOR is welcome! I'm also available to consult if the need me LOL.
I know you done one with a Fang at the end for the Sith version I would like to do a gray Jedi version with a little bit of wood added particularly a twisted Branch wrapping around the emitter having a long curved hilt preferably somebody with big hands and either a krayt dragon tooth at the end or a Rancor tooth at the end have it where you have the slide where is leather wrapped like a katana
One thing I've been a little curious about lately is why don't you have little windows or something similar cut into the lower portion of the saber, so when even while closed, you can still see into the crystal chamber? Just seems almost a waste to me to have so much craftsmanship hidden under the saber. Especially on this with the etching, maybe every 4-5 'scales', have it cut out into a window to see into the chamber, with some clear plastic to prevent any debris from getting in.
Either way, beautiful saber as always.
Excellent question. The simple answer is that I personally do not like windows to see into the saber when they are closed. I like thinking of them in layers, like a firearm.
fantasic work....very impessive videos......in germany you could make a lot of money with your sabers........perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I need one of these
please answer me I'll keep leaving coments until you tell me how to get one and how much they cost this has a amazing dezine and i want one so bad I love star wars and this saber is just amazing
I want one
Hey Rob, where do you source the tiny LED dies that you are mounting direct to the accent pads on the board? I love the idea of having the PLI through a projection lens. Very tidy.
+EclipsePhotographyFL ebay!
+Rob Petkau I guess I should have elaborated. what type of led's?
Wow
That's a tri Cree led. The tri Crees are great
Where did you get the crystal? I've been wanting to do a Krayt Dragon Pearl core (the sphere shade) for a long time, but haven't really been able to find a proper one for a good price.
What color values did you use to make the tatooine sunset color
How much would one of these sabers cost? Im currently creating a fan film with my buddy, but we are low on funds and looking for good props.
This particular saber was sold for over $3000. See my website for my more basic sabers.
Can you do this with a saberforge hilt?
No idea
Ok
how much money will this cost and where can I get one
+Mr. BattleAxe Hi. This one-of-a-kind saber was sold for over $3000.
Do you offer financing on the blades you craft for customers?
No. I do not.
Rob Petkau alright, thanks for letting me know. Guess I'll start saving c:
Have you ever thought about designing a broad saber?
I did one similar to a two-handed sword if that is what you mean. See my website for pics.
@@MadcowGenesis thanks I will check your web sign out and the reason I ask is cuz the broad saber was in the Canon of star wars and it's my favorite lightsaber design and the UA-camr stupendous wave has a video talking about it check it out when you get a chance 😀
how did you spin it
Do the blades look as realistic in real life?
Better!
Thats exactly what i was hoping :p
In what lenght do you usally build your hilts?
+Jimmy Sheridan Depends... usually just under 12"
How do you get a krat dragon perl in real life
Egg Head, I agree!
how you lernd how to build costum lighsabers?
Here's the story genesiscustomsabers.com/?page_id=2
is this guy keanu reeves? sounds alot like him.
is it for sale
+ZtriX Sold almost 2 years ago
+Rob Petkau ok
I love these lightsabers but they're just too expansive for me. lol
+Logan Baxley Maybe he can make a smaller one for you
there are other places but his prices are worth. this is a great goal to save for.
why don't any of you lightsaber makers, make one that actually cuts shit? you guys just make expensive ass toys
Angelo Kush probably because that is impossible . . .
No it's not all you have to do is use some kind of material that could be sharpen and is also see thru with the different styles of plastic it's actually totally possible
/\ Thanks Trump
Angelo Kush Its not...
I suppose you could have a large blade made of solid crystal that could be lit up by LEDs but it would be super expensive and really heavy
Why are your some of you Sabers over $1,000
I think your sabers are beautiful, but I honestly think that's too over priced.
2 Reasons.
1. I do the work myself, no minimum wage employees
2. It's my art. So the price is heavily influenced by whatever people will pay.
