The gunplay in Battlefront 2015 was incredibly good

It was one of the best shooters. It actually felt like Star Wars.
Have to disagree there. It’s probably one of the modern shooters with the least amount of variables in the gunplay. Movement, ads and positioning makes no difference.
There was a VERY satisfying feedback for kills however. Which I think people confuse with good gunplay!

@@viktorceder4985I have to disagree with you there. Perhaps when playing against extremely bad players that is the case. But in a competitive environment the best players have incredible aim and have mastered the gunplay, bad positioning typically results in a near instant death in 6v6 matches at that level. Despite the game being 8 years old, there is a small but dedicated competitive community that hosts competitive matches comprised of the best players. Due to the games community now being tiny, you likely haven’t seen any incredibly good players play. Simply watching the top players play in 2023 will probably shift your perspective on things.

I think this game has better mechanics than Battlefront 2 when it comes to shooting and the way the game works with you having your one character, however Battlefront 2 has a lot more content featuring all of the eras which is certainly nice.
Agreed both games have pros and cons. A combination of features form both games would make the best battlefront game

It's also crazy to think about how good the graphics and sound design are in the game, especially at the time the game came out

I remember finally unlocking the shadow trooper skin at lvl 50 after so much grinding and feeling so cool using it.
I was probably 10 years old when I grinded for that skin and it was the most rewarding thing in the world.
I remember it extra this time of the year. Back in 2015, this time was totally magical. Between the game and the hype for TFA. I hope I, and we as SW fans, will get to have that feeling again.

The community was so memorable, too. I remember GizmoGuy, Tesko, and a bunch of other niche little youtubers who gave the game so much more personality. Especially Elliott, who always was the backbone of the Battlefront games since I started watching 2015.

This was the best game I ever played. It might have had its flaws but loved every minute I played of it and the hero modes were amazing.
Still play it now. It's still one of the best looking and fun Star Wars games out there. I hope people never stop playing it.
Man, this game brings back SO MANY memories! I remember playing the Death Star DLC with a friend of mine at the time, and I got to be R2-D2, and I actually got to go straight ALL THE WAY through the objective. When we got to the second phase, my friend was like, “Oh my gosh, HOW did you survive that!?!” I was like, “I don’t know, I was just going.”
I've made lots of friends because of this game. It has a special place in my heart.
I loved the missions/challenges you could do, like 'destroy 2 at-st's or 'get x kills with y' and they would refresh after you completed them. Gave an incentive to do different things.
dude the amount of nostalgia i got hit with is insane i remember all of these things so well i loved this game so much but for some reason i never really got attached to the 2nd one and ive barely played it, but this game holds so many good memories and i wish there was more ppl playing it. i think the main things i missed from this game that wasnt in the 2nd one was the guns and abilities and traits, although i mostly only used ee3/e11 and jumpack bacta or jumppack sniper rifle lmao
The Low TTK (Time-To-Kill) in this game is what made it eons better than it's 2017 successor. The blasters feel powerful and accurate to their lore counterparts. I used to run an E-11 because it had great damage and range as long as you managed your rate of fire. Just like it works in lore. The game suffered purely from a lack of content and other game modes (Vehicle combat mainly).

I remember so many great SBFU streams. “Look at that damage!” EE-4 roll spam rage. Gizmo guy spawn trapping with Luke on bespin and pissing off our whole server.
I miss the days of playing this game so much. Staying up all night in the summer while playing on Bespin was so fun. I’ll probably never get an experience like that again 😢
Man I remember when I was about 11-12 I’m 18 now and this was the whole reason I got into video games, it was literally a dream come true as a kid who grew up obsessed w Star Wars lego and Star Wars in general
I just downloaded it like a week and a half ago.
I literally downloaded it to play the classic Heroes vs Villains and Hero Hunt.
Heroes vs Villians is way better in Battlefront 2015
And Hero Hunt is a classic
And Extraction with heroes is definitely the cherry on top for me
Since I started playing a week and a half ago I’ve found two full lobbies of Hero Hunt in which we went on to play several matches together
And Heroes vs Villains is pretty much always reasonably populated to the point where you can always comfortably find a game.
I remember all of it. So many hours played. Wish they would have kept working on it.
I miss these times. Battlefront was amazing, spent the summer of 2015/16 playing it with my bro. So much hype as well with Force Awakens. I get kind of sad now that I see the servers are dead.
I remember the crazy jumpack spam and if you didn't sacrifice a starcard slot for it you were at a huge disadvantage
I remember A-wings being the bane of every TIE pilot, oh and how powerful the DL-44 was at launch

Battlefront 2015 one of my fav games that has a big special place in my heart. The memories i have with this game are great. I played it everyday i was only around level 65-70 (checked not to long ago) but 8 year old me (when the game came out) loved that game everyday for years i played it so i got older and still loved it i thought i was a high level and i was pretty good at them game as well. It was my fav game ever. Well its not my fav game ever anymore but still up there for me. Its definitely one of the best and fav multiplayer games I’ve ever played. I have like 300 hours+ one BF2015. This game means a lot to me i still try and play it from time to time if i can find a game. Same goes for BF2 i also really like that and still play it to this day. I would even say BF2015 is better then BF2 but i love both a lot.
I played this for days, I love it still. PS4 there are some lobbies still active on 40 player matches!

Great Video. I remember the Bo-Rifle as well. Where you had to defeat another player who was armed with the Bo-Rifle and pick up the icon in order for you to unlock it.

We’ve come a long way. I remember every single thing you mentioned clear as day and I almost feel like a crazy person for remember that specific clip with the the bowcaster loadout. It’s equally as devastating today how you gotta panic the last shot and end the streak as it was 8 years ago😂 11 year old me loved this game and it still got a special place in my heart now as a 19 year old. With the consistent videos you uploaded you ended up being a part of my childhood in some way. Thank you for all the great memories Elliot!
Battlefront 2 is great but the blaster selection and zero attachments is way better then what we got. If the default blasters were actually usable after you unlocked the other that would have been awesome.

Fantastic video Elliot, you really hit me with so much nostalgia! The Outer Rim DLC was also my favourite. Some of the best memories are of making private matches to have 1v1s or larger hero battles with friends.

I remember playing as the millennium Falcon for the first time and loved it. Always elated to play this game.
One thing I will never forget was being amazed at how the Gameplay Trailer was not a "cinematic" and that the actual gameplay graphics (that I first got to experience during the limited BETA) was actually the same as the trailers. The Frostbite Engine blew me away and still blows me away. I was in awe of the graphics, textures, look and feel. And I still feel that BF2015 nailed the OT look. BFII2017 came out the gate with that New Trilogy "holographic" look and while EA did away with a lot of it, even playing some of the ported BF2015 maps on BFII2017, the look and feel is not the same.

i miss this game so freaking much. i was at university and it was my introduction to multiplayer games (I’ve played only solo before) the entire community was so much fun and the bond we had with the devs, it was amazing. devs aren’t like that anymore these days. i miss your update videos. i miss the good old times. this game will stay forever in my heart and so will this community.

It’s just absolutely beautiful.
Every map seemed like it had its own story to tell that we could interpret in our own ways. The Bespin maps were my favorite because of just how beautiful they were.
The troopers of both sides looked so cool. My favorite being the Rebel Desert Trooper, the use of the A-Wing helmet always fascinated me.
The weapons and Star Cards all felt and sounded so unique each with their own abilities and quirks.
It felt like a genuine OT sandbox experience. However this experience is ruined for me by all the leftover sweatlord players with jitter-modded controllers. I can’t go back, but my God was it one hell of a ride getting all these updates.
Promotional material such as The Battle of Jakku update and Scariff got me to be very optimistic with the coming movies and boy did I love them.
All the maps, weapons, character models, vehicle models, gameplay, and just the overall atmosphere was just so amazing. It truly was an authentic Star Wars experience.
I highly doubt we’ll get anything else like it given the current Star Wars media we have now. Just disappointment.
This game will forever hold a place in my heart. I like to think back on the feeling of optimism the year 2015 gave me. What the future held in store for Star Wars. What could’ve been. It’s still there. Fleeting, but still there…
I remember everything you mentioned (except the glitches, which I didnt get) and mostly the fun and excitement we got every time a new trailer was released, and watching you dissecting every frame of it, speculating which new hero powers and weapons there would be.. But my very favorite memory has to be the Death Star trailer and also playing it (my favorite DLC)

Battlefront 2015 was absolutely incredible and no amount of hate will convince me otherwise. I’ve put a ridiculous amount of hours into this game over the years and the memories I’ve made will stay with me forever. It just perfectly encapsulates the magic of the original trilogy (the best trilogy 😉) while still being a unique and fun experience. It had this level of polish that really felt like the devs put their hearts into making a quality game. I would even go as far to say it’s better than Battlefront 2 in most aspects (other than the quantity of content and the battle point system). The mechanics, gunplay, game modes, customisation, heroes, lighting, art style, UI, music etc. just everything made it so immersive and re-playable. Also, the community felt so strong back then (real ones remember Tesko249, NarwhalDave, JongoPhett etc. and all of the meme emotes like “hey you gotta do what you gotta do”). I wish it were still active today as I miss this style of live service Star Wars game. I hope if they make a Battlefront 3, it feels like this game but with more content. It will always hold a special place in my heart ❤️
I actually loved that Cycler Rifle. The drop off made it a challenge to line up long shots. I loved it with my jump pack

The excitement and joy this game brought me, fighiting in the Star Wars verse, getting the feeling of battle, thrill seeing at AT-AT walking arround, different vehicles (ships) that functioned like in the movies, you could do the cable leg thing, the cettle run, the rage of lpsing the Chance of be coming a hero (or villain), and pure ectasy when you finally managed to do it, and scare the sht of ppl Just walking towards them as Vader, the spud design of the game... Just one of the fondest memories i have of any multiplayer game

There are so many Maps from 2015 that I was hoping and waiting for to be transitioned over. I've Always preferred Walker assault and planets like endor and Hoth on the first game. And we never got the Death Star/trench run mission on the new one

i played the game from a couple weeks after launch up until BF2 came out and i have soooo many great memories of playing with my little brother and listening to Twenty One Pilots together. those were some good times, life was much simpler back then….
Remember the secondary fire glitch? Which for some reason still exists with hero guards, there was one guy on XBL servers that would do it recently but I haven't seen him on and he never told anyone the new method.
I absolutely loved this game, sometimes even more so than battlefront 2. It was such a great time period and having a star wars multiplayer game out at that 2015 era was the best time I've ever had playing games

My first FPS type game. Also had a massive Star Wars addiction as a kid so that just fueled the fire. One of my favorite games of all time
BF2015 had some of my favorite maps I've ever played. I love that the Administrator's Palace got ported to BF 2, but the Carbonite Freezing Chambers and the Cloud City Walker Assault maps were iconic. I've never been much for the Hoth maps, but Twilight on Hoth has a special place in my heart. But I think my absolute favorites from that game have to be the Sullust maps. Those were amazing and when the devs started talking about BF2015 content being ported into BF2, I kept hoping the Sullust maps would be part of that because of how much fun they were to play.

Damn this was a trip through time lol I also remember all those map easter eggs you could trigger, like actually making the echo base shoot star destroyers on hoth or letting huge star destroyers crash onto jakku...that game had amazing attention to detail.
Battlefront 2015 gave me the best star wars experience and the immersion made me feel like I was in it. 🙌 Love Battlefront 2 as well. BF 2015 has a special charm which I haven't experienced in any other star wars game. I hope new star wars games can learn from it.
I know most remember the hero tokens, but remember when people found out how they spawned and everyone would race around the map in the same way trying to find/grab it first

Remember how personal shields use to not deflect grenades? But then later on they were changed to not do this?
I remember On Bespin you could open and hide in the elevators and it was really fun to camp in them with a shotgun and when an enemy opened it you could annhilate them
I had the most fun with this game. Recorded most of my gameplay saved on my Xbox. My most kills on a match was 207 playing has boba 😅
Oh yeah there's also the ability to glitch some Heroes to use standard infantry blasters - among them the TL-50 which could be glitched out so that the Hero or Bodyguard you chose had the Ability to shoot secondary Fire at the Blaster's regular firerate. Luckily it's a fairly unknown glitch. As you might imagine a Bossk that fires TL-50 Secondary Fire at about 900 RPM is just about invincible except for Cloudcards.
Still play it, I will never stop. Even when the servers shut down

Funnily enough I reinstalled this at the weekend because I really miss the Sullust and Bespin maps and Nien Numb (obviously 😁). This game came at the perfect time when the Star Wars community was really optimistic about the future. Warm and fuzzy feelings for sure.

This was the game that got me into next gen gaming after essentially skipping all of the ps3 era and honestly, it was pure beauty, The visuals, the game modes and the sheer scope of it all, sure its...dated at this point but i will never forget the almost 200 hours i put into it over 1 year
One memory i had in particular was the dead inside feeling i had when they added that free Bespin trooper cosmetic, basically implying "No more big updates" and silently added one last cosmetic to wrap the game up
I happened to play some of the solo stuff yesterday for the first time in a few years, and I was surprised by how beautiful the game still looks. I miss those days so much. It’s a shame the multiplayer is basically dead on PlayStation
