Thank you internet for this. From a musicologist standpoint, I dig this over the official versions. I just got to the part in Ace's book where he mentions the demo and he himself preferred it as well. I will link your video to mine! I'm working on an Ace bio video since it ties to my tattoo.
The demo version has that original fire of the artists, the real escence of the band, before any studio interference, honestly I love this demo versions even better than the studio ones, specially Strutter.
Best version of Strutter I have ever heard. Had they replaced Kissin Time with Watchin You, they may as well have called their debut album Single Platinum.
These demos are much better than any of their later demos from Destroyer and Rock&roll Over. Being hungry and broke has a way of igniting creativity in artists, musicians, etc.
I can't believe they didn't just release the album usingthe demo tracks on here. It has a genuine live energy to it. I'm not sure how they went about recording it but it sounds like they all set up in the same room with maybe the drums in a different room and just plugged up and played. I love all of these versions of these songs better than what is on the original Kiss album even though it is awesome as well.
Sometimes you kinda forget just how good the original band was ,- though I still think that Eric Carr gave them a kick in the ass and instant credibility - creatures of the night, nuff said. PS God bless Ace Frehley.
Lack of money. Gene & Paul were owed studio time for various work they did st Electric Lady, like singing on ads. Instead of getting paid they decided on time owed
The next entry in that “soundboard” series should be this 1973 demo!!! I know a couple tracks were already released on the boxset and also have that 3” X 5 mini cd single set Strutter demo. But it would be nice to have an original official version of this demo!!
If they had kept Eddie Kramer for the first album it wouldve been a dragon's breath of death and destruction! He does the demos then leaves. Then they get Kenny Lerner and Ritchie Wise and something happens. The first album will always be in the hearts of Kiss fans and young new Kiss fans discovering the past. But Kramer's demo is pure fire!
It was too bad Kenny Kerner and Richie Wise were the producers of the first album and Hotter than Hell. On Dressed To Kill Neil Bogart and KISS are both listed as producers but I don't think he had much of a hand in the production. Dressed to Kill had more of a live sound than the first two and that was due to KISS.
@@DonnyHooterHoot Ace hasn't been great since Dark Light. Going strong... does that mean showing up late and complaining to your tour flunkie during a $500 meet and not greet? Does going strong mean sucking in concert? Playing in the wrong key is a no no. Especially when people paid.
The original original KISS that we didn't get to hear on there first album. These demos are fire.
This is the best version of Strutter ever
Well those guys must have been pretty happy with this because this blows their Wicked Lester album away by a lot.
This sounds so much more “alive”!!! I wish they could have had Kramer produce this 1st album!!!! Wow!!!
Thanks for putting this on.There can't be many bands, if any, who were still playing most of their demo decades later on their final tour.
Set list :
1 Deuce 0:00
2 Cold Gin 3:17
3 Strutter 8:30
4 Watchin you 13:28
5 Black Diamond 17:20

Kiss sera siempre los titanes del rock and roll por siempre al infinito y mas alla yeeeeAaa £scoriza 2
Best version of Strutter I have ever heard.

Awesomeeeeee
That Strutter bass line is Funky ...I love it .
Tight Demo. Produced by Eddie Kramer.
Eddie and KISS was magic together. He would probably have made a better version of Destroyer than the over produced crap Ezrin did.
If this was an actually released album it would be the best Kiss album
These demos are much better than any of their later demos from Destroyer and Rock&roll Over. Being hungry and broke has a way of igniting creativity in artists, musicians, etc.
I think it has more to do with Eddie Kramer and Electric Lady Studios
A demo isn't supposed to be perfect. They also had more time to profect these songs.
20:13 - 20:43 A LEGEND WAS BORN. WHAT A FEELING OF THE GUITAR BENDINGS
Strutter and deuce are actually on “The 2001 KISS Cd Box Set”! Eddie Kramer is a genius to put this out finally!!🤘
50 years today !!
These demos are better than the album
Absolutely
Call me crazy, but that version of black diamond might be the best kiss vocals i've ever heard by far.
Peter had the best voice by far...
Cat magic
The original CAT MAN PETER CRISS
Peter Criss might have been the best rock singer in the band, with that raspy voice.
EL SONIDO ES MUY LIMPIO, MUY BUEN DEMO, PARA LA COLECCIÓN DE LA BANDA MÁS CALIENTE 🔥 DEL MUNDO KISS ❤
There is also the Bell Sound demos.
Such cool rock n roll! YEAH!!!
Thx
Kiss never could top this recording.
Most of the songs sound better on this demo than on the studio versions.
They were pretty green at the time to have been lucky enough to had gotten Kramer to produce
Buenísimo! 👏
Strutter, versión sublime, la mejor que escuché.
The Cold Gin demo is awesome😢
I honestly prefer the demos over the album versions
Tremendo 🔥
Écouté du KISS pendant une game de Call Of Duty Warzone c'est le top.1 assuré 🤘😁
I remember reading somewhere that Paul Stanley preferred the raw energy of the demo over the first album.
I remember thinking all these songs sound better except for watching you, which I think Paul drags down.

Eu amo Kiss mas também respeito as pessoas que não gostam do Kiss
Its a crime thay this version of strutter didnt make it to pressing. Sane for black diamond.
👍
Ace and Peter literally on fire
nikki minaj much better
The most badass version of Deuce I’ve ever heard
How you have it would have been the perfect album cover.
Kiss playing in standard tuning. I wonder when they decided to tune down half a step and why.
When they played live they played faster because they were so nervous but it sounded normal. Is what I’ve read.
Probably because of the vocal parts. In a live show it is very hard to do them.
Playing every night made it difficult to keep singing in standard tune.
Voices change as age sets in
Every band is at its best when they are hungry.
Gene and Paul won the lottery when they got Ace to join. Ron Lee Jack or Bob Kulick don’t have that kick ass magic of Ace
The Real Kiss.
Hey Billy; are you related to Darin Contreras?
Have him give me a call or text. 405 788 7972, thanks.

As much as I love to shit on Gene he had some tasty bass lines back in the day.
This was engineered by Eddie Kramer; why is the sound production so lo-fi?
Lack of money. Gene & Paul were owed studio time for various work they did st Electric Lady, like singing on ads. Instead of getting paid they decided on time owed
5songs Does not make a Album❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ 11:44

Está muito boa por se tratar em "demo" em 1973

Good songs about drinking and street walkers in NYC.
I wonder how much they cost back then? 😮😂
Ace Frehley, lead guitar! The ONLY one who is STILL going! Ha!
No parece demo !
Era gravado mel Sudio Electric Lady, criacion y propriedad del Jimmy Hendrix.
Foda se

Sounds like Gene and Paul actually held Ace back later! He is the driving force in this band, oh well, ancient history now. Peace!
I think Ace held Ace back.
@@Pamplemousse82322 Oh, most definitely NOT! Who is the ONLY KISS member still going strong? ACE!!!! So you are completely wrong and need to bow out.

@@Pamplemousse82322 Now you are muted and hidden wrong boy.
The official songversions are better !
Wow, I like this version of Deuce much better than the album. I wish there was a way to "upscale" the quality.
