Dont be too down, just had a run of blanks since the cold weather. Then last week I had a session to end all sessions,10 skate in a little under 3 1/2 hours. My friend said, (as do you) you have to be in it to win ,just keep wetting a line, and things will happen. Tight lines.
Great video, shame about the blank but stunning locations. Like you I feel like giving up sometimes. My last 3 trips to the beach resulted in nowt but hypothermia. As for motorway services, I abandoned them many years ago when the kids came along and I was asked to calm down by a checkout person when she told me the cost of 2 coffees and a couple of smoothies!
I went down to Chesil a few weekends ago and fished 2 high tides over night and into the next morning....1 small spider crab and nothing else....I don't know what is going on at the moment....I was thinking Studland next, but might go Bristol Channel instead and try my luck there....keep at it....
I feel your pain, you invest the time and money for no end result, you are doing it all right. but you need to go where the fish are the Bristol channel is fishing for rays, bass and of course doggies. English side and welsh side. McDonnell's coffee is only a quid. lol
I could feel your pain ! You put all the effort into a trip and,for what ever reason, don't get your reward ! It's been an odd year so far with the weather, which I don't think has helped.Just have to keep grinding it out. Oh,and service stations are the biggest rip off going !!
My itch is going! The fishing is very poor atm. In Kent there are alot of smoothies showing but there are far too many anglers targeting them atm for my liking
I fished there 2 weeks ago. I had a cracking bite 10 minutes in. It even pulled the drag twice. Hooked into it, then lost it after about 30 seconds. Spent another 8 hours with nothing to show for my time. Great vid mate.
Can’t wait to see you and arum out together fishing Greg a long drive down from Kent to there still you have to try these places makes beach fishing 🎣 interesting
Unlucky dude, great upload as always, nice close ups of bait presentation too, so thanks for that. I used peeler for the first time the other night, and couldn't really figure it out. The way you did it looks way neater and cleaner. Cheers buddy, and better luck next time👍🙏
Hi greg you ok. Daylight robbery them service stations . Shame about the blank we all have them. At least you had some company ive asked are lass to come with me and shes having none of it. All the best mate from grimsby.
My last five trips resulted in 3 fish. Most worrying thing is baits are coming in untouched. Where are all the bait robbing crabs and prawns? Still we are all completely bonkers and will keep trying, as long as we dont need to sell all our gear to pay for snacks at Fleet Sevices lol
That was a nice day out and having company helps sorry you did not catch any thing but think it’s the same all round just now as we don’t know if we are in winter, spring or summer the now so this could be confusing the fish 😂😂😂😂. It was a good video though tight lines till the next one
I have a theory.......fish have gone into lockdown...its quite a good excuse😐 things will change, i'm trying Frinton next week...probably blank😁🎣 as for motorway services, thats another reason for having a camper🚐👍
@@randomvidsforfun607 if the weather is nice it is absolutely heaving with people and you cant fish. Lovely area but im yet to actually fish it properly because of the amount of ppl there
That's ok because she wasn't fishing for rays on her rod, she was scratching for small species so you don't need to set the clutch. I think I do quite a good job of "teaching" as these vids are all informative and alot of people get something from them👍
I don't have any tips for Studland, sorry, I haven't fished there before. It's very shallow there. Maybe check out @rodsangleuk as he has a couple of vids from there
@@gsp I read by the chain ferry is good and old Harry rocks is good for conger eels in the evening. Lure fishing for bass in the morning suppose to be good.
It’s pronounced eep, not ipe. I used to pronounce it ipe when I first moved to Dorset, until the locals corrected me 😂 You certainly put some miles in to fish down here, a good couple of hundred miles. Shame you blanked though. We get a lot of bream and plaice at Studland.
I knew I was pronouncing it wrong!🤦 so many of these villages have a local name that doesn't match the spelling🤣 I definitely need to do Studland this coming summer
13 mins in and I'm starting to wonder WTF...single paternoster above a medium snapper lead with 2 hooks bait up throw out...the fish over there can't be any stupider than over here. Keep it simple.
Rigs have evolved. A loop rig with attractors is far more effective at targeting flatfish than a 2 hook paternoster. Specific Rigs are a better way to target certain species. A pulley dropper rig is a superior rig than a pulley rig for targeting rays, therefore I opt for the ideal rig for the species I'm targeting. A paternoster rig has its place but is quite a crude rig compared to modern rigs
@@gsp Yeah I get what ya saying it just looks like a lot of window dressing to me. I only use three rigs and nothing fancier than a swivel or two...so what are ya calling flatfish ? sounds like our flounder or sole but we do have flathead over our side of the planet.
It's like your flounder. Commonly off beaches we get the European flounder, European plaice and dab. They all get very attracted to colourful beads and shiny things around the bait when it's flapping so most people targeting them do dress their Rigs up

Yeah my slump has got to end soon! Keep being in the wrong place at the wrong time! 🤦♂️😂
Thanks for the video, Greg. I've only been out fishing twice this year. I can't believe how cold it still is!!
It's awful! It's nearly mid May and half the trees aren't even in leaf!
