The piece turned out quite nicely. “Next time,” you might try the painter’s tape trick on the edge bits. I’d be hesitant to use the scroll saw to cut them with the upward friction. If you have a bandsaw, that might be the best. The more I ponder and type, the more perplexed I am about a solution. Good to know reheating makes it come off, too!

I’ve made a backer with edge banding before also! Yours looks amazing!! I just used a speed square, a sharp utility knife and a sewing mat to cut out all of my pieces. To cut off the edge banding from the side I turned it over (good side towards my sewing mat) and cut it with a utility knife. That way you don’t have to saw it off and you can just glide the knife along. Some problems that I have with it now is some of the edge banding will curl up once in awhile. I am not sure if it’s because of my climate or if it’s because I hang it by the front door so there might be more moisture in the air. Going over it with a hot iron seems to make the glue stick the edge banding down again for the most part. Great content and video!

Hi, Esther! Thanks so much! Ahh that’s another good way to do it! I’ll have to check mine for curling…does make sense that it would do that. Thanks for the watch! 😊

Thank you, that was very helpful. I have recently became interested in marquetry. Working with verneer and doing inlay work.

Some of the edge banding I have used, the sides seem to be angled, so when you place them next to each other, there would be a groove. Edges are not square

Good morning, Danielle. I have a few days under my belt, using the Pegas you recommended. I ordered it from your source and received your discount. Thanks again for your advice...it's a great machine. My question...I saw a short clip where you have designed a new Easter Empty Tomb using a tea candle to illuminate the tomb. Is this new or and old posting. I checked your Etsy and can't seem to find it. Would like to purchase your design...if it's available. Please let me know how...that is, if it's available. Thanks again for your inspiration and help. Blessing to you and your family.
