I had memorized every word to this album back in high school but never once took those words and applied them to the way I lived my life and thought that I should be evil or satanist. If anything it helped me see through the current propaganda and lies from certain entities like the government or so forth. It actually helped me through a lot of bad times and the evil that was actually happening in my life, not this music!

It's hard to realize it now after all these years, but Bruce was coming in as the new singer of Iron Maiden when the Number of the Beast album was being made, so not only was he having to sing these songs but with a band he was just getting on with. I remember as a teenager growing up in the late 80's, with my very conservative and Christian mother, Iron Maiden was not only off limits in my house, as was 99% of the music of the time, but they were targeted heavily over that album and song in particular. You didn't see kids anywhere except maybe the occasional one at school who might have been wearing an Iron Maiden shirt, but they were always juniors or seniors and I was right around 8th grade going into 9th or so. Looking back on it now, and never really getting into Iron Maiden until later on (our local rock station didn't even play them, ever) it was more or less just coming across the music by accident that got me listening to them, and realizing, going back and actually listening to the lyrics of these songs what Bruce, Steve, Nicko and all these guys put into those lyrics, what utter nonsense the arguments were against the music. But still, if you ask people like my mother who will freak out if my son so much as mentions rock music in her presence, they think it should be banned, burned and done away with altogether. It's a damn shame such close mindedness exists.

Just started watching the video, but I have commented on this before and I believe it to be the truth that, if they had not released the song "number of the beast" and had released the album under a different name, they would have reached a popularity similar to a band, the size of Led Zeppelin. It's a myth that maiden had no marketing in the eighties, as some people like to say, but they were definitely given very little radio play, mainly due to this song and complaints as a result. The world wasn't rrady for that, in the eighties, mainstream was very prudish and Mary Whiitehouse was still around, to literally direct institutions against controversial acts.In a way, cancel culture was worse, back then, it just didn't have the Internet to give it as much voice as it does now.
It's testament to their integrity and not caring what people think, and releasiing everything as art, that they still released everything, no holds barred. But the consistent incredibly high quality of their music, with 4 world-class songwriters, the most demonstrably athletic and arguably charismatic frontman also, could have led to dramatically more sales, if they had wanted, had they chosen not to release the most controversial stuf

@@ngrp27 There is a double-edged sword. As a citizen of a country, which has provided you with a platform and services, you have responsibilities, as well as freedoms and rights. If you just want the freedoms e.g. freedom of speech, though There are many uninhabited islands, all over the world, where you can emigrate and live with your rights without feeling any sense of responsibility to anyone. Bruce is a role model (whether he likes it or not).He has also benefited from marketing directed at a public through a media, where he has benefited from the services, helping with this in his country. Therefore, he needs to realise that there are many people underage and elderly, who he needs to be careful to discussing his opinion on topics he knows nothing, or little about. This is 1 example were clearly there is very little should be more careful

Increasingly "selfish" idiots. like to exercise rights, especially readable fleets, without providing anything to the country, leading to the gradual decline of nations that were formerly developed successfully with people taking responsibility seriously".UK is a good example of 1.

No he doesn’t. I think he’s pretty much admitted in being wrong in voting for it.

I just listened to the album. It's embarrassing trash. The lyrics are stupid and the vocals are totally contrived...trash.

Um that was in 1980-1981 when he just joined Iron Maiden/His first album and so I doubt he had any wealth whatsoever 😳 They would of all been pretty poor at that stage!
Now he will be very wealthy, but not back then!🤯

@@spookytkid Well your first complaint was about his wealth in early 1980, or lackthereof and now you're complaint is about furniture flying across a room in a studio 🤔 It would just appear you like to complain about wealthy singers/musicians! If you don't like him, or them, then why come on a UA-cam video about him and complain?!
      Seriously chill 😎

@@azzajames7661 oh so exactly how much money did he have at that time? he wasn't poor. his parents owned businesses and sent him to private schools he attended collage and could well afford a wife and child. all before iron maiden. my complaint was about him complaining of suffering and he is a millionaire. his comment about suffering was while he was a millionaire looking back. so as a millionaire he is complaining about how he suffered trying to sing a note. his perspective is it was suffering. regardless of my verbage that is and was my point. millionaires complaining about suffering trying to sing a note or line isn't a thing. he may or may not have been millionaire you don't know I don't know its still a millionaire complaining about suffering when it was just a silly tempertantrum.
