    Lol, dealing with the congestion pace concrete and noise of city life is a real challenge when you are more in the rythum of nature. I have a postage stamp sized homestead on the outskirts of a large city. When I get outside my own yard I'm baffled how people can exist just piled on top of each other with little to no connection with nature and the rythum of life itself. I really don't even need a clock, the roosters get me up. We eat mainly out of our garden when we are hungry and go to bed when we are tired. I'm about the same parallel as Phoenix but all the way out to the east coast. So we have a very long growing season but tropical rain forest not desert. Humidity is our bain not drought. So glad you are here in America now. I know as you listen to the Father he will lead you to your purpose here. As you know America is in a transition back to our founding roots. And I'm sure you play a part in helping people to make this natural transition. You are the first blogger I started following. And you a your family has been a great encouragement and wealth of knowledge to me as I first started raising chickens and gardening. I had taken premaculture courses on line. But watching you made it come to life for me. Thank you and keep moving forward. You are a blessing to many.

    I wondered why he just didn’t stay. They did things so much better there.

    I’m retired now, but I have worked many times over my working career in Arizona. I love the area a lot, the natural beauty can be breathtaking. My takeaway on the awesome beauty of their landscaping, always made me want to come back. I have to be honest, it looked like their system maintaining their shrubs and flowers was to simply water what they wanted to grow and not water what they wanted to die. America is a very large country, no doubt in time you and your wonderful family will find the home of your dreams.

    I’m glad that you showed that they had to bring in outside soil for their garden. I thought that there was something wrong with how I did things on my urban homestead because I have to bring in outside soil for my garden beds. This was a great reassurance to me because I’m not able to produce nearly enough compost on my own.

    Amazing how much AZ has grown. Family used to have a resort home off the Golf course in Glendale, back when you drove in off the desert into the small town. Was it that long ago or do things changed that quickly these days? Yours is an enviable adventure. Thanks for sharing. God bless you all.

    Ya'll went with the hope of relaxing and enjoying the farm experience and God gave enrichment to you and the young men that spoke about God, both got blessings! I know you can't wait to find your land/hone farm and start working on your plans to enrich the land with what you have learned, not to have to walk away from it after stewarding it but to grow it and love it for you and your family's legacy! Blessings abound to those that Love God!

    Donna here, I have a question about asparagus. As a half German living in the rural south, I have not seen white asparagus here. Is it a different kind, or is it just not matured green? If that is the case, I could try growing it myself. In my 60s now, really missing my German roots (food, family, country), such a different feel from the US.

    Just curious if the two you met were Mormon missionaries? Gilbert has a large Mormon population. As a former Mormon they talk Christ but they are totally a work based religion. They have what they call the PLAN of salvation not salvation through Christ alone but they are some of the friendliest people you will meet. They are ALWAYS looking for converts. Two of my active mormon grandkids served their Mormon missions in the Phoenix area and loved it. The youth in the Mormon church are pressured to serve a 2 year mission for the 18 year old boys and a year and a half mission for the 19 year old girls.

    • @JamesCouch777
      @JamesCouch777 7 місяців тому

      I'm not Mormon but I have known several and I much prefer them to some of the other brands of religion. They at least try to live what they believe.

    • @pollydunn3191
      @pollydunn3191 7 місяців тому

      @@JamesCouch777 Yes they do try to do their best to live their religion because they are taught they are saved by grace after all they can do instead of the general saved by grace alone by what Christ did that most all Christian denominations believe. I raised my kids in the Mormon religion and it is very structured and organized. It works great for people that love and need that structure.

You are coming off as a critic, as someone who is second guessing his choices. YEAH, this is not Austria, its not even the US that I grew in. Try to warn.
