@@everysingleguitars it’s a very subjective thing and it changes for me. Right now the L5 is my go to but have used the 335 for years for jazz and all types of music. The L5 and 175 are probably the most iconic guitars in the jazz world. But there are always plenty of great players that don’t like those guitars.
I had the same cutaway feeling, then one day it hit, 360 I bonded with that design, great, great versatile instrument. Wes Montgomery, number one my favorite.
I know a guy in my hometown that has a southern jumbo acoustic with split parallelogram inlays. It's got this really cool case that's white with brown spots like a 🐄 cow. I guess they only done that for a few. It's very collectable and he got it for stupid cheap and of course won't get rid of it 😡
I love that gets are exactly how it is Florentine cut and all especially the Florentine cut. That is literally the coolest most beautiful Gibson I've ever seen I want that model Alas I don't have the jazz chops to justify it I am working on that parts in essence I'm a rock player Congrats on the monster jazz box , man.
When I tried to start learning guitar a month ago, I thought I’ll be trying to learn rock & blues. Now seeing jazz and acoustic players on YT makes me want to trade my Strat now for a semi hollow jazz guitar. Jazz is just that special.
Well, I was like that too at one time. Playing strats and doing the rock/blues (tired) thing. Wasn’t until I saw Steve Howe of Yes did my whole mindset change. Pull up Steve Howe Guitar Solos on YT and then you’ll understand the possibilities on a Es 175. Good luck!
You should a buy Peavey T60. They're quite undderated. though the price has gone up on over the years. They are worth it. I bought one with all original parts in excellent condition 1978 for 425. Nowadays they can go close to 1000
@@everysingleguitars their older guitars are great. Like the peavey t-15 , t- 25 , and one of their best the T60. I would recommend the t-60 since it has more tonal variations. And it's the best sounding out of the three with toaster pickups. I believe their newer stuff aint worth it. With the three guitar I listed, i believe there ain't even a piece of plastic. It's all great quality.
I recently bought an ES-135 from 2000s. Paid two thousand for it and the damn thing is so good, it pretty much plays itself. I really want an ES-175 but my concern is that I'll neglect the 135. Seriously, I have never in my life played something so sweet!
Steve Howe of Yes my favorite . Pull up “Steve Howe Guitar Solo” on YT. And then you’ll understand stand what you can accomplish on a ES 175. You might learn something.
It appears you are slinging an .011-set of strings on there? I like using at least that heavy for wooden bridge guitars, it seems to get better clarity and richer tone. Nice guitar and great tone!

First play it yourself. Meaning: feel it. Sure, you can strum chords on any guitar, but if you’re serious about your playing and spend crazy hours practicing, you’ll appreciate 175D’s beautiful feeling, sick comfort and versatility. Mine has been for 30yrs with me and though I have a stash of great guitars, this one still is very special to me. About 20yrs ago my 175D has been played by George Benson onstage. He said “it feels great, feels like home” after the gig. True. You have to try it yourself for a day, there’s a reason why it’s expensive. It’s a gem.

Based on the thumbnail , the last thing I expected you to play was a Jack Johnson song😂
Lol good ear

The inlays are called "double parallelogram" - iconic in itself. Ive have my 1978 '175 for 35 years and I'll never sell it. Its perfect.
Wow 35 years is a long time
*split parallelogram

Stratocaster is a great guitar for jazz too. Just dial down the tone knob to like 2-3

Don't trade your Strat, keep it and save to get an ES-175. There's nothing wrong with having more than one guitar!!

concur... also, because i have one. 🤠
I have one too they are amazing guitars mines is a 1979 it weighs a tonne 10.5 lbs
does peavey make good guitars? i always viewed them as more of a guitar amp company than a guitar company

Bought an ES 175 D in 1976 for $600 CAD in Montreal natural colour.
Want to save up for one myself

Stevie Ray Vaughan.

What's the tune you were planning in the intro?
Nice guitar! Thanks! 🌞
Steve Howe.... enough said.
Wow, I've never heard the bridge PU on a 175 before....
That thing is absolutely gorgeous
JAMES HETFIELD
downpicking master
Love it !
Guitar sounds absolutely beautiful
And so does your playing mate
They don`t produce the ES 175 anymore, that`s a reason for the increased prices!

DOUBLE PARALLELOGRAMS AND TULIP INLAY ON TH HEAD STOCK.
johnny winter
he made me want to buy a gibson firebird
How much you did you pay for it?
Probably $2700-4000 depending what year. Gibson discontinued the Es-175 around 5 years ago when they shut down the Memphis plant.
Too bad Gibson no longer makes them 😢
Saw one of those in a store in 1975 for a few hundred bucks. Still kick myself for not getting it. But 4000? Nah. I get mine from china for 400. 👍
China ones don’t hold value tho…
Won't even compare.

Design has nothing to do with tone? That's simply not true.
Not as much for electric guitars. Pickups are more important for tone when it comes to electrics
10K for a guitar? Nothing compared to a Hauser or Fleta classical guitar---which is Chicken feed pricing compared to what some violins have sold for.
How on earth could you not play any nice jazz chords? Can you even mention that this is mainly JAZZ GUITAR?!!
Instead of paying $4000 y’all iyv has a guitar that looks and plays just like this for $200
You must also think of the resale value as well
