- Hi everyone,
This is my collage for week 35 of the challenge being hosted by Margarete Miller this year ( see below for details, if the #2024CW challenge is new to you and/or if you’re interested in taking part).
The prompts set for this assignment were as follows:
1. ‘An Illustration from a children’s book’ ~ I chose a lovely page from a
children’s book that I have in my craft stash ( see below for details).
I chose it simply because of the gorgeous background colours
2. ‘A hexagon’ ~ I had a small pile of hexagons on my desk ready for
another project.... one of those was perfect for today’s assignment.
3. ‘Brown or kraft paper’ ~ I used a page from a kraft note book I have.
4. ‘The name of a favourite tea’ ~ We use Brodies tea here at home
and I’ve always loved the name.
5. ‘A string of numbers’ ~ I used a mix of vintage German ledger paper
and Ranger Rub-ons.
Bonus ‘A fragrant item from your surroundings’ ~ I have a small perfume sample that I carry around in my handbag. I decided to make a tag and spray it with some of the perfume to hit this prompt.

There are many assignments that I don't get right, even after doing this challenge for the last three years! But I can honestly say I've learnt so much by tackling them each week and they are such fun.
It's such a shame that MM doesn't do the challenge assignments each week along with us, as it would be fascinating to see her prompt choices and assignment compositions. The collages she shares are amazing and always so cohesive. She really is an artist at doing them. Have a wonderful weekend and as always, BIG hugs from me. C xx
@@oakhousejournals yes, some weeks are more of a challenge than others, but you ALWAYS manage to create pages that are unique and fun! I have learned so much from watching you. I’m not sure yet if I will continue next year or not - 4 years may be my limit! 🥴 But whatever you decide to do, know that I’ll be there “watching”. Thank you so much for your time and allowing us insights to your talent and artistic ideas!
Same for me too about next year. I believe MM will continue into 2025 but I'm desperately trying to resist the temptation of doing another year. My own projects get put to one side whilst I'm doing and recording her weekly assignments. I should concentrate on those and the new house, of course. BUT it will be hard not to cave when we get to the end of this year 😊. Thank you so so much for each and every one of your kind words and comments, Amy. Love everything about your collage this week Carol, especially like the blend of soft water colours and I always like the addition of a honeybee, being a bee keeper..🐝🐝 xx

Gorgeous as always, Carol. Love the tea/perfume tag. Yes, it's winter in New Zealand as well, however the sun is shining and we were able to have our tea on the veranda.Have a good week, hugs.

It's not a new one for me, as I've done it a couple of times in past junk journals. I thought it would be nice to do it again in my MM #2024CW journal..... it will keep it smelling nice..Ha ha. Such a pretty, pretty page ... those colours are just devine! Great job my friend. Yep, we technically have a few more days of Winter left over here but you wouldn't know it, we hit 30 degrees today with it getting hotter as the week goes on apparently ... how cruel is that!
