This tutorial is sub-par, but I'm glad it only skims through obvious things and omits mechanics and certain OP builds - knowledge is valuable. Keep them coming, brother, so the experienced players can capitalize by wrecking the grey masses, GJ ;)
I was initially REALLY worried about the Lionroar cannon unit getting added to this game, but I’ve come to find that, despite their fearsome reputation, they’re actually a lot more niche than most might think. You have to position them in certain areas for them to be at their strongest. If you’re able to close the distance on them, they fold and die SO easily. I’ve heard stories of how players have been able to kill them using SERFS, which are the weakest unit in the ENTIRE game!
Did they fix Pavise? I notice a lot more people using them again recently. I did too, and notice able to get some kills. They are still not as strong as they used to be but good counter the current Wuwei, Sunward Meta, and able to stop some cav too. But again any range can counter Wuiwei and Sunward (Pike/polearm units).
I bet it's mostly due to the new doctrine. I also took them out to test it ;). There is also something about their attack rate in shield mode but I didn't have time to check what it is about
@@SuperKitowiec You mean the new crossbow doctrine? The one that lets crossbow bolts pass through one enemy unit and also hit a SECOND enemy unit behind the first one it hit? Is that doctrine any good, because I’m trying to unlock it but I keep hearing mixed to negative reviews about it from my housemates.
@@kevinnorwood8782 With arbalist extremely good, cuz greatly reduce their time on aiming aka attack speed significantly increased. With bottom line close shoot skill they have amazing precision additional to a decent attack speed. I'd say they're doing better than pavise on damage dealing.
I just realized. In your previous video on which melee units are worth using, you didn’t cover any units lower than purple tier. Was there a specific reason for that, or did you just completely forget about them?
@@SuperKitowiec Fairly simple and doesnt require double fire doctrine.(although double does make it so they stun/KB and gain increased damage buff a lot more) Simply put, 2 causes the whole unit to target a hero, meaning at least half of your unit is going to hit it at once. If there are multiple heros on a point, odds are you can kill 3 of them with 1 press... CD on 2 is reduced via kills. If you want longer range, target them manually with 1. Ive hit things with them out to 80. Much like how gunpowder units work. All you need to make them work is rare accuracy, rare fire rate. If youre lucky you can craft the +25% ammo count. The only thing they struggle with is shields, but almost every ranged unit does.
@@rpscorp9457 so you focus just on clearing heroes? I tried them multiple times and the damage seemed nice but I never felt like they are worth over other units
@@SuperKitowiec Unless something changes in the coding, i think thats what they are best at. They have a different behavior depending on what they are locked on to. To my knowledge, theres no other unit that locks all of them on at once to a hero and volley fires. Against units the volleys will be spread among available targets. The 150% health increase pretty much insures that at least one activation of volley fire will have most of its members shooting. Its also one of the only shooting units that can repel a dive by anything except for maul. That being said, i feel like its a defensive unit ...and is not the greatest at pushing without a more significant investment in doctrines.

Yeah, they can't defend themselves so the team has to coop to get the most of them.
What doctrines do you have on shenji's to get 4 rounds of grenades? I know about their blue seasonal one which gets them to 3, is it just more ammo?
I don't know how to get 4. Increasing ammo doesn't seem to increase grenades count
@@SuperKitowiec it looks like in the shenji section that when you throw a bomb that 1/4 of the ammo is gone, but that could just be visual.
@@stephenryan6242 yeah, I just checked and it's 3 throws ;)
Doesn't bottom line give more ammo?
@@kmook76 it doesn't affect grenades if I recall correctly

@@kevinnorwood8782 as far as i know it's good on feathered xbows but not that good on pavise. But i didn't check it myself.

I will get back to them. low tier melees are actually usable so it would've been much more talking so vid would get too long ;)
