The other day it was raining and I was on the phone with my brother, deciding if I should go work on an old JCB backhoe stuck out in a friend’s field. Without hesitating, he said, “Marty T would already be out there!” Grabbed a raincoat and got it fixed. Thanks for the inspiration Marty!
so cool that you scored this truck. A functioning double front axle truck is not only more stable but also - kind of - half a 4WD. And 19 tons is a huge capacity. That gives you a lot of freedom. so happy for ya
Had the FV400 twin turbo V8 mitsi Shogun 18 speed road ranger tractor unit back in the mid nineties line hauling 5 axle curtain sider B Train up and down North Island general freight, Awesome truck

Living somewhere were they salt the roads, that comment about it being rusty is funny to me. 😆 That's in mint condition! And not having a turbo might be better in the long run, less parts to die out. Cool truck all in all, never seen one! We have scanias here, so a v8 diesel truck is not that strange to me.

Nice reppair and proof of concept. The truck seems really nice if it is a 1987 model. There is a comprehensive list of all Mitsubishi Fuso engines on Wikipedia
I love the way your chooks are drawn to the freshly turned earth. They aren't even slightly worried about the giant noisy steel beast tearing into the ground.
Marty, I'm sure you have already thought of this. Even though you are not going to drive on the public roads, if the registration on the truck has not expired already, put it on hold and keep doing so each year. NZTA do not seem to mind rolling it over endlessly and this will preserve some possible increased future value. You don't need a WOF/COF to allow the rego to go "on hold" and it costs nothing each year. If you ever sold it, its worth more in the market place being registered. One suspects that there maybe the odd time for picking up items of machinery this would be very handy (LOL like you will ever acquire anymore "kit"). Being allowed on the road would be good and you never know, you may sort the chassis heave and cab rust. Assumption is that you have a class 4 license. But to be frank, I don't have a class 4 and the odd time it never really bothered me as I only went on the road once a year.
You said down below you had tons of eggs. Not sure if you saw the reply so ill post it again here. A nice way to use up a dozen eggs. One of my favorites. Everyone waiting for a flattened chicken :) Love it Marty , quite the collection of huge toys you have now :) I can’t imagine how you’ll get that down your track , be careful mate, that’s a lot of weight.
That's hilarious! I thought my chickens were bloody stupid trying to dive under a spade as we're digging, yours couldn't care less about a bulldozer. :)
Thanks Marty, love the daredevil chickens, early bird gets the worm ... and all that. Nice truck, you've got a real workhorse there. Thanks for the video!
Really like that truck, when I was driving trucks I always preferred the older models. Yes they had nothing fancy, but you always knew they were going to get you to the location you wanted to get through. That loading bay build was brilliant, yes a tad rough, but it looked plumb. 👍
As a retired Chicken-oligist... I have always loved how they are almost fearlest in their search fo a juicy worm. As mentioned, look out for the change in yolk colour!
Nice Truck Marty, and great to see all your machinery getting a workout. You could start up a construction co mate, and use the chickens as labor.. LOL All the best to Jeanine and the kids. take care.

I've been following your great video's for a few years now, and it's really brilliant content. Stoked that you have such a well contained, self sufficient property in the middle of nowhere, with all of your knowledge and gear, you're well set up. Perfect for the future!
I was only thinking this morning about when Marty’s next video will drop, bingo there you are. Great addition to the fleet Marty, thanks for the video.👍👍
Those chickens take the concept of free range to a whole new level! And I think it's far better to carry the excavator on the truck rather than rattle up and down a 6 km driveway on the tracks. Great video.
Those chook’s have got nerves of steel, if someone ever says to me “are you a chicken “? I’m gonna say hell yeah, a Marty T chicken 🐓! Talk about anxiety warning 😮. More suspense than a Rambo action movie, thank you & God bless 👍🙏😁

What a beast of a truck- 16 litres. Nothing like the calm and capable sound of an old diesel, especially a big one.
Yeah, those Japanese trucks are impressive. Wish we had more (any?) of them in America.
