What’s up dev. I was the guy with the long beard that you spoke with briefly by the lazy river when this incident happened right in front of us. My family is still in shock from this. I went to guest relations before we left to tell them what had happened and the most they were willing to do was giving us tickets to come back which I told them we were not returning after this. I didn’t get an apology until the very end of the conversation. You are so right when you said there is no order at this water park. For anyone reading this don’t waste your time or money.

Dev Bro yes that place for my family. They didn’t give it to considering I live in Pensacola fl. They owed me and family a rain day. I had the paper that gave me a free day for us all. But they wouldn’t make good on this rain check. I said keep it and went to volcano bay it’s the best water park in Orlando. Thanks for all your reviews they are knowledgeable and helpful. There is a reason you don’t go here it’s because they are horrible.

As someone who works for Universal and spends some time with team at Volcano Bay…that is not tolerated AT all! That mortifies me! I know in the kiddie pool…accidents do happen. When they do, Universal closes that whole area down, turns off the water, and cleans the mess. That’s part of safety is sanitation. Don’t even get me started at the ones who’ll go off to a bush in a ride queue at one of the regular parks!! I get not wanting to get out of line but for crying out loud…

Again, large groups of ghetto families flood into these parks and cause trouble. These are the same people who act like someone owes them something. I see it everyday. You either have strict civilized rules and bar them for life so it is a privilege to. Be there, or let them ruin everything bit by bit.

You’re definitely right that this situation was mishandled. Pre-pandemic there was a toddler ‘issue’ near the shore of Typhoon Lagoon’s wave pool. A life guard was alerted, guests were evacuated and they shut down the wave pool immediately to follow proper cleaning procedures. I feel terrible for the guests at Aquatica that day, so disappointing. I wish the lifeguards would have alerted management if they were unsure how to address the situation.

My sister did technical writing for Disney for 12 yrs and she said she was always tasked with writing assignments pertaining to contaminants in the Disney water parks (feces and urine) She has actually never been to either of the Disney water parks because the things she read and had to write about (internally for Disney) grossed her out. It happens alot more than you think industry wide. I am very disappointed in "Seaworld Parks" employees for not doing something about what you witnessed. I would (personally) make a formal complaint to the company to bring it to their attn. I think as a whole honestly the entertainment industry has declined in quality since the pandemic. but yes, I hear you when you say that experience makes you "re-appreciate" Disney, and that is saying alot considering Disney is a bit of a mess at the moment (100% agree). Always appreciate your candidness and honesty.

Former lifeguard here! You are correct. I was a lifeguard at WildWater Kingdom before they closed. Our policy when someone went number 2 in any of the attractions was to blow 4 short whistles and a lead would come over and we tell them what’s going on. They then would contact a supervisor and the attraction would get shut down for 2 hours after the poop was cleaned out and new chemicals was put in.

I got a fun card to aquatica for my daughter and I 2 years ago. It came with a couple of guest passes and the first time we went was the very end of January in 2021 (we got lucky with a Rouge warm day). We had a nice time, it wasn't very crowded and they didn't appear to have many staff issues (yet). I took my daughter back twice more that year, and each time we stayed less and less. The last time we stayed maybe an hour... it was so crowded and clearly understaffed and I just wasn't comfortable being there alone with my daughter... we haven't been back and I wasn't planning to, but even more-so now... the last time we were there I left thinking "I have never felt this way at Disney or Universal"...
Also, I HAVE been at Disney when something like this has happened, and the lifeguards got everyone out of the pool, they cleaned it, tested the water and they didn't let anyone back in until it was safe to do so... I believe the incident I'm remembering involved a baby and a leaking diaper, so also different, but clearly they actually handled it, and I think that is the point... of course things happen and kids can misbehave (though, as a parent-I can say there are a TON of things I would absolutely not tolerate in my daughter, certainly using the bathroom anywhere other than the bathroom is at the top of that list) but watching the parents AND staff not do ANYTHING is absolutely super disturbing! I'm surprised the health department hasn't shut them down because that has to be in violation of (I would assume) more than one health codes!
Thank you again for the honesty, I do think that it's important for people to know what they are getting into if they want to go here!

As a former lifeguard, poop in pools happens way more frequently than people think. But, yes...should have been closed immediately upon seeing that and then cleaned out with nets that then get sanitized. That being stated, I still have my annual passes to Sea World, and Aquatica, to at the very least support their conservation and animal rescue efforts, and SeaWorld has great festivals! Sorry that experience happened to you at Aquatica. I've been there 100s of times and never once seen anything remotely like that there. Too bad for you that on the one day you happened to go there it was also a rare off day for Aquatica. Hope you decide to give it another shot some time.

Accidents happen, but what’s disturbing besides the fact that they didn’t close down the lazy river to clean up, is the parents just standing around watching! What’s wrong with some people?

We were at Sea World two full days and part of a third this week. We had a fabulous time! Crowds were low and the weather was amazing. At one point on our second day, at least 6 rides were down. Also, a significant part of the park doesn’t open until an hour after the rest of the park. I spoke at length with a local mom who said she’s heard Sea World is having significant staffing issues. We did interact with some awesome employees, while others were were disinterested and didn’t seem to love their job. Of course, you can find that anywhere.
My son begged to go to Aquatica, but we didn’t go, and I’ ok with that! Yours is the second video I’ve seen saying you won’t go back any time soon. I was a lifeguard & pool manager for years and the first thing you do is remove all patrons from the area!

Dev we couldn’t agree more with you. We were so disappointed with SeaWorld during our visit in October. The staff were so disinterested, there was a notable lack of them (e.g. no one at the end of a queue line to allocate you to a row of the coaster, just a free for all), the food was some of the most expensive, but worst quality, we had the whole time we were there. It saddens me as SeaWorld reminds me of being a kid but we won’t go again. We were going to go to Aquatica during our trip, but after our day at SeaWorld we didn’t bother and did Volcano Bay again, thank god we changed our minds! Discovery Cove however was awesome, we loved it.

Thank You so much for sharing your disappointing experience at Aquatica in such a professional way. It's not easy to talk about disturbances like that but you did a fantastic job putting the right words. My opinion only, Aquatica should have protocols specifically for those situations. Dealing with toddlers and/or kids and pools situations are not easy BUT they should have limits and rules on these unfortunate "nature" causes. First, Lifeguards should whistle, get ppl out of pool, call for management and let them handle situation. Second, Is Aquatica allowing parents to come back again? . Parents should be the example to their children and they should be with the children at all times. Very sad situation... Again, thank you for addressing that bad experience such in a peaceful way. Keep doing what you do best, You are awesome!!! Keep smiling and visiting the parks. Blessings

That's disgusting. No one would want to witness this. What a bad reputation this water park will be associated with. I am so glad you shared this information and didn't just quit the park without highlighting its lack of duty of care for other unsuspecting visitors. I really hope this situation is followed up and they behave in a much more professional way by not tolerating such inhuman instances by turning a blind eye to it.

Something similar happened to me at Magic Kingdom. 2005...a little kid (maybe 6 or 7) was standing on the bridge that goes over Tomorrowland Speedway track with his pants down and peeing onto the track below. His parents were standing there and cast members saw him as well. I honestly think that the cast members were just stunned that this was happening and they had no idea what to do in the situation. Other guests were actually screaming at the kid's parents. Management finally came over and escorted the parents and kid away.

What kind of parent thinks it is acceptable for their child to drop his pants and urinate in public, especially at a busy place like a theme park? I sure hope that family was told to never return to a Disney park again. Even if the kid had some kind of cognitive impairment, well, it just doesn’t matter. Lord, what a world we live in.

Don’t apologize for calling out things that need to be called out! Seeing those two things on the same visit is a sign that they aren’t doing things right - to say the absolute least. In fact, they are being completely negligent. Those are safety and health concerns! You don’t seem like someone who exaggerates or have a vendetta for no reason. Keep speaking truth. You have nothing to worry about.

I'm a Passholder with SW and I will say the parks are enjoyable if you require nothing from the park staff. Once you need help or service, forget it. Not to mention how they purposely slow everything down to save on cost when they are a growing business hitting record numbers. They just don't care about their employees or guests

The difference I seen at Disney is they shut down the ride and did clean up and physical inspection. Then they ran the chlorinated water for 20 minutes before they let anyone back in the area. So I seen it happen but your right Disney reacts immediately. I think Universal would have done the same thing.

You need to contact the management for the park and inform them of what was witnessed immediately. Truly you shouldn’t have left the park without doing this. This is a major issue that is an infectious disease risk. I wish you would have immediately approached one of the lifeguards and informed them of what you saw and ask them what the process is when something like that happens. Please reach out to the park management and inform them of what was witnessed not just come on here and share. People can become severely ill and the park needs to be aware incase there is an outbreak in the area of any illnesses from contaminated water that could have been contracted from exposure in their park. Please please please contact them!!

Hey Dev, We saw a father lift his young girl over the rail in the line to Kilimanjaro Safari so she could use the restroom in the foliage there, it was right after the Lightning Lane joins the regular line in the switchback area prior to being assigned a lane for boarding. Maybe its something in the water this year?

Seaworld should be ashamed of themselves (as well as the parents). Not only do they not allow you to take your own food in and then charge a fortune for terrible food but to ignore something as serious and such a health risk to others. We visited in November from the UK after not coming since covid and were so disappointed. But that evening my son was really really ill after we left and I am now putting 2 & 2 together if things like that can happen without being correctly dealt with. Thanks for bringing this to light Dev, keep up the great work 👍
