Do you think Sister Sage's involvement in Season 4 is going to be more important than what it currently seems? Let me know your thoughts below!
Yes
Yes I believe she will push homelander in the direction of taking over the country from Neuman but that doesn't mean she has plans of her own. She a chess player her moves are always planned and calculated
I feel a third act flashback coming on. A secret track where they flashback and show SS ultimate plan from the beginning.
My theory is that she has used mathematical probability to predict that Homelander will destroy the country or maybe even the world. So the moves she's making are setting him up to fail.
I think just being Sherlock not her power they can revel that she can read minds and she is planting thoughts in Homelander and she has some alternative motives
She is definitely a great addition to the Seven. The actress plays the part very well. The lobotomy scene was insane lol
It is so sick and full of sense on her character… I was speechless… great scene, great show !
@@gillessturbois8914 i described that last episode as diablolical lol
I couldn’t remember where I seen her but she has one of those faces, and i remember orange is new black
I love how Sister Sage's power is displayed. Not the typical "I'm smarter than everyone here's some technobabble I don't understand emotions ~click click clack~ I just hacked into the Pentagon." Instead, her superintelligence includes emotional and social intelligence. Also it's hard to tell at first because she owns so many books, but her living room is bigger than my apartment. It may not be pretty, but best believe she's got the stock market down to a science and is probably sitting on millions in a diverse stock portfolio.
She probably owns the building.
Emotional and social intelligence? Lol...I guess that's why the writers don't understand how brains work. She states that her brain never stops growing which means more neurons are constantly being added. This would have an adverse affect because too many connections would actually slow the brain down due to added distance the signals have to travel. Her ability to percieve things would be drastically altered.
Also her powers seem to be more based on observation than actual intelligence.
The Ceasar reference that Sage made might be a foreshadowing of how Homelander will go down. The Seven might ultimately betray HL
And I imagine Sage will be making her moves to ensure that she'll be playing the part of Brutus when that betrayal comes.
@@sdp271who is Ceaser?
@@Walter_Hartwell_White_Senior Julius Ceasar.
@@sdp271Not Brutus. Octavian.
@@herbwitch5681 Not if she plans on clutching one of the knives. 'Cuz Octavian was not directly involved in Caesar's assassination. Defo benefitted from it, though.
I really hope she has a secret super power that she hides from everyone
Would be smart
Same that would be so damn EPIC :)
Yeah...because right now, she and everyone is talking to much..
Fight ....more already
@@wodidos smart is not this show any more
Maybe she’s rich like Batman that’s Batman superpower
Sage is smart enough to know that those seeking power eventually ruins themselves. The smartest know that being left alone is the greatest comfort. It’s the reason that she is alone in the beginning. It’s why before homelander, she is purposefully not rich or famous even though it would be super easy for her.
I'm just waiting for the show to confirm my thoughts about this, too. You basically said what I was thinking the whole time.
I think shes smart enough to not let people know the complete extent of her powers and her weaknesses.
Yeah exactly!
I think her lobotomizing herself is kind of like how a lot of real life geniuses use drugs to give themselves a break from their genius, perhaps drugs don’t work as well for her as physical damage.
I really don't understand the whole "this season is slow, nothing happens" or that this season is bad, even tho, i don't see why, i've watching this show since 2019 when the first season released, i like how the story builds up more slowly and also see how Homelander goes batshit crazy with every season, episode by episode this guy is a ticking bomb, killing more people and eventualy he will explode and kill a whole crowd just because he can, how that is boring? What do you want to see in a series like this to keep you entertained
Go watch episode 3 from season 3 and then go watch episode 3 from session 4 and that will answer your question
@@NappydreNap There's no question to be answered
@@SQOUREE when there is a question mark there is a question but it's cool. season 4 is without a doubt boring and slower then any other season my argument is to compare season 3 episode 3 to s4 ep 3 it's a noticeable difference. The amount of new information we got per episode alone kept you on the edge of your seat. This season feels like one long therapy session with drops of violence.
@NappydreNap imma be real nothing happened in season 3, everything happened in season 4. I know blah blah writing moments but that doesn't make it good. Season 3 went literally no where, it introduced temp V and butcher has a lower lifespan, took out Maeve and that's it. It ended practically where it started
@@youraveragehotdog6836in season 4 all the new characters power are all under whelming fire cracker biggest super power is the media visual boring we seen storm front do it already and sister seem interesting but in the first 3 episodes everything she's been doing seems mid almost none of her plans work. in season 2 we got storm front the lady who makes heads explode & season 3 we got soldier boy and everyone from his old crew plus butcher and Huey powers so far season 4 is boring but I will say i haven't seen the episode that came out today so I'm hoping it turns around.
I mean, does Sister Sage feel distaste just for regular humans? Given that her powers make her intellectually superior to EVERYONE to such an insane degree, I have to imagine that, to her, the difference between a human and a "supe" is basically the difference between a monkey and a gorilla. The gorilla might be a lot stronger than the monkey, but it's still more or less on the same level (intellect-wise) compared to a person...
i’m pretty sure gorillas are more intelligent than most monkeys but don’t quote me on that
@@Gojira-ri6rj Perhaps, but you aren't likely to be discussing Shakespeare or Game Theory with either of them...
I also the contexts in which she brings up the superiority are with the deep which I think it’s pretty clear she’s manipulating to achieve some alterier goal.
She doesn’t hate regular people. She hates people
All supes are arrogant and have superiority/god complex. Maybe except for the Deep, who is dumb as a rock, due to a lack of self awareness..
She’s going to be the one that fulfills the black noir Homelander clone role of pushing Homie over the edge.
She didn’t want to join the seven, but she’s smart enough to know Homelander doesn’t take no for an answer so since she’s forced into it, by Homelander she’s going to try to destroy him and burn down the seven so she can go back to being left alone.
She is 100% gonna get lazered by homelander eventually and trust me.. she knows. Why? He's just petty like that. And she has photographic memory. Classic brain vs brawn. Well super brain vs super brawn
More like she will figure out a way to kill Homelander given her great intellect.
That would be boring
Won’t happen
@@TemplarX2 like how lex luthor killed Superman? Ludicrous right? I mean they could write it that way. I doubt it though
@@JamaicanMeCrazy Lex Luthor is a normal human. She already has analyzed Homelander weaknesses. I'm sure given enough time, she'll find something that can be exploited. Homelander is not like Superman though. Powerwise he is more like Rogue in the X-men in term of strength and durability. Superman is a planet destroying super being. Omniman is more comparable to Superman.
this labotomy theory make so much sense ... I feel bad I didn't figure it out this theory.
thank you @brainpilot for this theory and this video.
looking forward to your next videos, hope they will be even more good.
I noticed it, but couldn't figure out what the object was. Saw lobotomized later and it made sense. Kind of a big time... again, blow for Deep, though. Hahah Poor guy
it would be cool if she also had power of reading mind along with being smart also she can plant thoughts
it's the same exact thing marvel did to professor X. he take drugs to stop hearing people's mind
Anyone else wait until the whole series done and bam pay 1 month sub and watch it all
Firestick my dude I ain't paying for shit 😂
Sail the seven seas bro.
After some inspection on her character and outfit, it seems like she is also heavily based on Ozymandias from Watchmen.
I wonder if she will try to move Homelanders brain into a younger body like a son…or a clone. If not Sage does he will be “just like Caesar” who was killed by Brutus his rumored son meaning Ryan will kill him
She’s a master strategist
So she's easy to kill but she can also heal right after sticking a metal tool in her head? Lol. It would be awesome if she had super strength too
maybe only her brain can heal
@@Gojira-ri6rj you're right. She stated it in EP 4. Only her brain can heal
She literally says that it’s only her brain that heals to The Deep when she’s asking him to lobotomize her
how powerset lists moderate regeneration....so she heals way faster than humans.
Thank you for this video brilliant theory
Great analysis
Thanks!
Wonder has sister sage already fine tuned the Vought formula for relaunch? Is she another plant from Stan Edgar. The puppet master that controls John aka Homelander. Are those really all his old memories or manipulated by Gen V powered supe to send him on a path? Lots of questions that I can't figure out.
I actually think shes a bit of a socialpath...Alot of socialpaths are really smart, good at reading ppl and good at manipilating others..and she didnt even blink at those brutal d*ath.
i mean i guess once you become the smartest person in the world
there's hardly anything that can really surprise you
we can also get into the whole neurodivergent/sociopath argument regarding intelligent. Like the more intelligent you get, the more you are able to see possibilities that have never been available before; morality become a weight. You stop thinking about if doing this thing is wrong, but instead you use your intelligent to solve the puzzle that is "can i get away with doing this thing" "is there a way i can do this without leaving or suffering any consequences"
So to us who are less intelligent, we want to cling on to morality and "everyone get what they deserve" because it is how we cope with our own helplessness. So there's a pretty vague line between are most socialpath capable of hyper intelligent, or do we call smart people socialpath because they dont conform to our own helplessness and standard of morality?
putting it in simpler term, imagine you have that power to come up with the perfect response everytime, you know exactly how good that response is, you know exactly how the opposite side will react; you know that its so good, they cant even make a good enough comeback to counter your response. Like tell me you wouldnt abuse the hell out of something like that
Like Ozymandias / Watchmen. But there have to be a The Boys Twist
We prefer to be called sociopaths.
Who’s we ?
@@longphan7656 just going to add alil here, sociopathy is a learnt behavior and considering how compound v might have neurological effects besides the way supes get treated, I have two theories -
A. Sister Sage is indeed very intelligent yet if you have lot of bad memories & experiences, she is more likely to be a sociopath(or just desensitized coz she realized how everything is messed up so doesn't care anymore) vs HL's mix of God complex+psychopathy. It's highly possible that her intelligence made her undergo an existential crisis and the lobotomy is a way to stop her mind from briefly tormenting her from the terrible memories & experiences (which can be quite painful as it's like experiencing high emotional/physical pain on a daily basis). Plus this behavior is like traumatized people cutting themselves under stress whenever they try to relax but realize that if they don't focus on something, their brain uses the free time to torment them instead. In short, it's possible that she just doesn't care & is rather desensitized (it looks like sociopathy but also lil different) as seen when she meets HL.
B. Psychopathy is just outright weird as it lacks empathy and people with psychopathy just can't differentiate between emotional connections. This doesn't seem the case with sage as she does get affected but also is used to knowing that as a supe, vought owns her in private & in public - she has to act a certain way so she also struggles with control. Irrespectively it's possible that she's gotten nihilistic & using HL to destroy this messed up world that made her & feel like an outsider as she won't fit with supes nor the normal. In short, someone said it right that sage is highly likely to be the reason for HL's breakdown as HL is already disturbed whenever he fucks up or has things go south (like him worrying about a white hair).
Strangely, kimiko is the opposite of sage - she can also regenerate & literally feels pain as she regenerates so her brain also does it like sage. Yet it seems like she has come to terms with fitting in & is so different now. I mean look at her caring about the team & obviously being so protective about frenchie as she knows she needs him to ground her & made peace with her pain. So season 4 is about to get pretty crazy and only time will tell 🤷🏽♂️
I feel like the writers didn't know how to actually write "the smartest wo.. I mean person in the world" so they kinda just made her the only one who comes up with plans and let the rest just not come up with anything. Like her plans seem basic and pretty easy to come up with
yeah exactly....they aren't showing off her intellect. she just seems like a book nerd....with knowledgge of random facts. should have had her be surrounded by advanced technology or even a throw away line like "she cured cancer and solved efficient fusion for fun but set the research on fire afterwards" to show not only her intellect but also her disdain for humans or "lesser beings"
so far she has shown no super human feats....its SUPER intelligence for gods sake....thats like being a higher dimensional being....maybe theres a big reveal later but for now....not impressed
Nah...I think the show is going riff off the evil super-genius archetype. She has plans within plans and will ultimately prove to be the ultimate bad guy of the season, manipulating all the other characters including Vought, the government, The Seven, and The Boys. They may even have to put aside their differences and band together to stop her.
@@coolo73 ahh you might be on to something. I've considered that idea the moment I first saw her but I thought "this is the boys, no way they are gonna ruin this potential by making it a cliche trope" but considering what I've seen in the first episodes this might be the route they are gonna take since they lost all their creativity
Wonder if she will team up with Neuman.
I don't know how you guys can judge a character based off three episodes but...ok. Even then, her depiction of intelligence isn't just through plans. She's not just rationally intelligent, we see her utilize her empathetic accuracy every time she speaks with HL. She makes hand gestures, indicating neurodivergence, and the audience can subtly see her playing mental chess with each person she speaks with. She's the Luther to HL's Superman, I just think the roles are flipped.
Man cant wait till the whole series done and bam bibge watch it all bro cant wait
Too brutal for that.

@@fatkonis2943 same
The biggest thing with her is that we have no idea how sincere anything she says is. Her comment to Deep saying he is superior could be a genuine belief but it could also be her attempt to manipulate him. Ashleigh's comments are correct so for Sage to just say I think your idea was good makes me feel she's just bullshitting. I suspect there will be a big reveal and she is playing a long game. Just a long shot theory but she could be the one who actually defeats Homelander, if she uses her role to access to research done by God U and the rest of Vaught into Supers she could actually create a weapon to neutralize his abilities.
Any time a character has a power that is essentially "ridiculously highly intelligent" we see things come through the writing that reveal quite a bit about who we are.
To do it effectively, you have to write in a way that shows understanding of intelligence and what it is. Imtelligence of a certain kind separated humans from the animals, so writers take higher intelligence to be "that which separated us from animals, but progressing further along that spectrum". They also are tasked with making something that entertains, so those things that would be a demonstration of higher intelligence, but are not conducive to watchability, never make it into the script. On top of this, a writer's own insecurities and the potential awakening of insecurities get involved when the natural consequences of ridiculously high intelligence are put on display.
Intelligence is tricky to write about. We're all out here doing the best we can, presumably, so if a way of thinking is put on display as evidence of highest possible intelligence, we may feel punished for not trying to learn how to think that way and put it to use. People starve and suffer incredibly due to inadequacies in the effective use of our minds. To wag our fingers at ourselves or others for not pushing our mental abilities to their utmost can be emotionally damning.
That said, I'd love to see a team of superheroes, all of whom have the power of superintelligence. We would see interesting overlapping and underlapping of strategies against villains, but also each other. The audience may then recognize how context affects the capacity to employ diverse intelligences, and how specific ways of thinking are directly available to those of lesser intelligence, but selfim put to use.
Such a story could have a dynamic impact on the development of an audience willing to grow and change in response to the media they consume.
Most likely, such a series wouldn't make it past the pilot.
Who has the real power? The person who throws the punch or the person who tells the person where and when to throw the punch?
The problem with Sister Sage is that she’s only going to be a smart as they can write her. More realistically a person with hyper intelligence is going to be able to set things in motion so that she never dies or puts herself at risk.
Why isn’t she super wealthy? Why can’t she engineer a new compound V that effectively makes herself immortal? She could engineer an AI that effectively controls the world on her behalf. I hope the writers come up with something good and reasonably believable.
She's not just intelligent on IQ knowledge level, she's also extremely intelligent on an emotional level.
Sure she could have done all of that and lived wealthy beyond measure, though it's indicated she doesn't care quite as much about those things as some do, as for genuine inventions? Again she could do that, though based on what we've seen she doesn't quite enjoy being hyperintelligent, who would ultimately?
Being ostracized, being lonely is a fairly common enough experience for someone with a genius level intellect, arrogance too. One quote from Chernobyl sticks with me to this day: "To be a scientist is to be naive. In our pursuit of the truth we ignore how many don't want to hear it." Sage is even smarter than THAT, in that she isn't naive at all!
Beyond all those wonderful things she could create for humanity? Why bother if humans are for her stupid? Why risk her life and potentially suffer immensely?
Homelander changed the game for her, because he can protect her from ANYONE that can try screwing with her.
I agree. I get that maybe she's dealing with psychological issues affecting her overall lvl of drive and motivation but so far she's been kinda underwhelming.
She did position herself in a low risk situation in her apartment with her books. And she knows that super wealth and political ambition does not create happiness. Doing anything on a large scale would just increase her stress and put a target on her back
People equate massive wealth with happiness.
Truth is having just enough to live the way you want without worry is enough.
As the man said: " 'Mo Money, 'Mo problems."
The good news is that the base level of dialogue on this show is maybe 7th grade American gym school level, so the writers COULD write her up to their level - C student Emery English grads - and by comparison to the other characters she would be a genius. But they won't do that. Sage is written and is performed no different than Butcher, Homelander, Huey or anyone else. I take that back. She sounds way dumber most of the time.
any smartest character in a fiction always has significant role in the plot.
Her character is like the boys version of Mr Terrific
I think they should have made her an devious telepath or use telekinesis
That's fair! I do quite like her powers though. They're being used in a smart way
Does powers have already been overdone. I much prefer this fresh take
@@dlilwon being smart isn’t really a super power unless she can heal and she has peak human abilities
she is my fav supe in the whole show, her power is amazing and i relate to her inability to “turn off” her brain so much, to see a mental struggle i’ve always had depicted in a physical manner like that was shocking but also amazingly relatable and real. hopefully she doesn’t die 😢 but i have a feeling she will
Why can’t Marvel do quality like this?
Probably, because its cast was created under the Comics Code Authority. Force of habit.
2:08 oooooh 😅 I thought she murder the octopus and eating that..
That was also my guess
I don’t think she necessarily has a dislike for humans. I think that dialogue with Deep was her obviously trying to manipulate him some way. Probably just to help nudge him forward for the things to come and keep him loyal to the team.
Yes. She manipulates them all but The Deep is pretty shallow so she doesn't have to be subtle with him.
She’s not in the comic how are you getting all this backstory on her?
i have not started season 4 yet but don't know why i got feeling that sister sage is actually the younger sister of Monica from Gen-V
With her brainpower, she could literally know and practice all the weapon making, tech, fighting shooting, healing, sexual, hunting and tactical skills strategies etc a human of her physical ability can have, performed at the highest level of excellence her mind and body can perform. Lady Shiva+Lady Shiva+Lex Luthor. She could also acquire mastery of magic, psionics, and Ka aka Chi.
Think Neo:"I know Kung Fu". Plus evil version of Shuri, T'Challa's sister.
I can't believe she is reading Naming and necessity on the toilet. Way to give a shout out to Saul Kripke.
I hope some of these new characters aren't just one offs for the season. It's becoming annoying.
I didn't know that's what the tool was for. I guess this means she has some sort of superhuman healing?
She knows being in homelanders radar she will ultimately be killed by him. She is the only one who knows how to kill homelander and she is setting up the seven, the boys, vaught and the entire city for this. With homelander out the way she has no opposition to take over. She’ll probably end up as a living brain in a jar by the end of the show.
When Sister Sage is first seen in se4ep1 she reads 'names and necessity' by Saul Kripke. Probably is easter egg on Eric Kripke (and probably everyone knows already).
I think the whole apartment is staged. There's no reason for a supergenius with a photographic memory to surround herself with books. But by showing only books she exposes nothing. And people who aren't as smart as she is never question what she's really doing if she's not reading.
I wonder if she hides her family photos or close ones so they are protected from Vought (not that they can't figure out with some research). It would be cool for her to have a secret agenda to ultimately destroy Homelander and the other bad "sups" (that would be smart).
I'm always really sceptical whenever you have the super power "super smart" cause the writers can never match up, "smart" is treated way to genericaly, like calling someone the most physical person in the world (does that mean they are strong, fast, enducarnce, etc )unless they cleverly manipulate the world so that the character is always correct, but even that gets super annoying.
@BrainPilot I'm a fan but......I think she'll die (High intelligent characters, like speedsters, get taken off shows). Is she a villian or not?
Villain
In all likelihood morally grey like everyone else in this show
Sister sage is Candance Owen
Candance Owen isn't the smartest person on the planet. Unless she's home alone she's probably not the smartest person in the room.

Dude, you're totally speculating about her powers. The hearing could just be signal processing. No reason to think it makes her vulnerable. And just because she's never used a power where you could see it doesn't mean she doesn't have it. What's smarter than keeping powers in reserve?
I like her. I hope she doesn't end gruesomly and gets away from Homelander unharmed.
It's gonna be interesting to see!

Ummm. Great video. I'm in love with Sister Sage. But I'm sure A Train said she only lasted *A MONTH* with Teenage Kix. Not a year.

Her brain is the only part of hers that heals fast. Everything else is normal.

Power.
Specifically the power to use her insane intelligence freely.
In the long run, survival. Because Homelander doesn't take no for an answer. And in the meantime, some fun with the practical use of power. Meanwhile, she has to figure out how to get rid of Homelander without him or someone else killing her. Now she has the opportunity to study the weaknesses of the entire "Seven" from the inside.
With the Homelander dead, she must make sure Ryan doesn't go down the same path. All the more so since it is likely that he will be the one to deliver the final blow.
For a certain time, she will most likely be satisfied with the role of oracle and gray eminence in one. (But it is quite possible that one day in the future she will decide to permanently get rid of her super intelligence. Simply because she will want to live a normal life).
the people and these comments must have also lobotomized themselves bc theyre slow

Even tho Doom regained his own genius level intellect over time the fact that the Leader pulled it off was impressive. He has no super powers but his intellect. He alowed Jean Grey to scan his mind and it overwhelmed her.
Is comphrension totally lost at this point? She has regenerative healing and enhanced senses.
yeah exactly....they aren't showing off her intellect. she just seems like a book nerd....with knowledgge of random facts. should have had her be surrounded by advanced technology or even a throw away line like "she cured cancer and solved efficient fusion for fun but set the research on fire afterwards" to show not only her intellect but also her disdain for humans or "lesser beings"
The mental gap between Sage and humans is MUCH larger than between humans and the first hominid.
Hey just dropped by to down-vote a really dumb video idea. I guess you'd have to be pretty simple to need this one.
She is going to end up knowing too much. The second her goal misaligns with Homelander’s, he will crush her.
I think that’s what you want
angry woman the world's only black feminist lesbian superhero mad tv did this first
Someone did mention that she doesnt know how to keep her mouth shut. Could have been lying or if not then that is a huge weakness.
That was atrain and he was saying that kuz she’s smart and kept correcting dumb ish he would say
Homelander's last words will for sure be: "Et tu, Sister Sage?"
10 more days til you see this video is 90% incorrect
No she's Jamell Hill playing Extreme Jamell Hill...Box Check😮
Were you the first person in your family to go to junior college?
I think she is the most boring addition to the series ever. Seriously! Being smart is a superpower? Whats next? Fart gas can protect you from radio activity?
For being the smartest woman in the world, they certainly don’t make her sound like it. How her character is handled just displays more of the same terrible writing this season has been plagued with.
If she’s so smart why doesn’t she just create a way to give her Homelander level powers
what💀 is this a genuine question? if so, wow
You can’t outsmart your way out of everything.
“It’s what plants crave…” 😏
I Siad if I was her I'd make a damn good copy of myself and put my 2.0 conscious in a robot or remote that bad Boi.
For one, intelligence doesn't mean "finding a loophole" to everything. She's intelligent, because she's patient and calculating. I'm not even sure she likes being a supe. We can gather that she's cynical and doesn't care about the world outside of retaining knowledge. Why gain extra powers to insinuate greed, when you can just manipulate people into becoming your weapon?
girl needs a xannie
forced diversity hire
she’s a horrible character. bring back blue hawk!!!!
Woke crap.
Ever notice in every movie now they’re portrayed as brilliant, computer hackers or lead scientists?
I have a hard time suspending disbelief for such character portrayals.
If an Orange man can be president, a black woman can be intelligent
God forbid a person is capable of being brilliant regardless of their race 😱
Diversity hire.
Coco butter and chicken
What do you have against coco butter and chicken?

Her racial slur in episode 4 really shocked me. Can you imagine it was the other way around?
Firecracker called her a "smart one"
@@AG-fg1uk since when is smart and one a slur?
@@MrSimonsonLiftsdumbass she called sage one of the good ones.
You mean season 2 when storm front called kimiko brother yellow person
@@SosaA11 exactly also bad. Seems to be a protected class here though 🤔
Oh let me gurss, another BLACK WOMAN forced into the plot just to ruin another characters and be annoying?
Nope
Pointless character……adding her is a waste of time with a blatant push for DEI…..💩
Worst season so far
Except it’s not but ok
It's only 3 episides in😂😂😂
its the worst..because its no longer a show telling a story its a push of political ideals great story be damned and any one who cant see that is a liberal due to that fact this show now very openly shows its for those ideals they got the whole left and right going on but guess which side is the bad one they got pro and anti abortion and a character which had never been stated before to be gay is now gay its a messs
