Ive noticed that a lot of metal heads ( like me) love the Smiths. It’s a strange phenomenon. They’re also one of Phil Anselmo’s favourite bands...... great cover by the way, it’s a difficult song to play.
James: Thanks for the demo of the Hagstrom 12-string. I was debating whether to get a Gretsch 6122-6212, or a Rickenbacker 1993 Plus. Instead, I just ordered one of these from Mark's Guitar Exchange here in San Diego. So, thanks for helping me make up my mind. And by the way--you play awesome, dude! Thanks again! Cheers.
JEEM, also known as, Jim Hawkins Thanks so much for your comment! I'm glad I’ve helped a little to make up your mind. I haven't played the rick or Gretsch so can't comment how this compares but you won't be disappointed with the Hagström, it is an excellent guitar and a joy to play. Cheers, James
James: I once owned a Rickenbacker 360/12v64 (George Harrison model). Loved the sound. Hated the neck (too narrow for my thick fingers), so I gave it away (big mistake since it's worth about $5,000+ now). I was going to get a Gretsch (around $2,700), but my guitar shop actually talked me out of it and told me to check it out on UA-cam. I did, and your demo convinced me this was the right move to make. I should get it in about a month, or two. I am subscribing to your Channel because I love how you play! Thanks again. Cheers.
This sounds like the most accurate cover version I've heard. Surprised to see that the capo is on the 1st fret though - I thought this song was played with the capo on the 2nd fret? And is it in standard tuning?
Hi thanks for your comment, I’ve never had any problems with the tuning on this guitar. I wouldn’t really choose to bend the strings because it’s difficult to do and doesn’t sound very good as it’s pretty impossible to bend a pair of strings both to exactly the same target pitch.
@@werksnarks It has to have some weight because of the tension put on the neck. If the body is too light compared to the neck, the neck will dive when you're standing up without holding it.
Making it look easy here man. I saw an earlier comment about the capo position looking like it's on 1st. I counted the fret markers and can see it's on second. But why does it look like it's on 1st? I've only played a 12 once about 10 years ago before I really knew what I was doing with guitars. Does it have some kind of fret size difference from a 6 string or something? Btw, fantastic rendition, I've saved this into my playlists lol
Hi cheers for your comment! I think it looks like the 1st fret because the nut is black in colour on this guitar! But the capo is indeed on the 2nd fret. As far as I can tell the fret sizes are very similar to a 6 string
Seems strong and stable enough to me, I've never had any problems! No I just have this one and an acoustic 12-string so difficult to compare, I've never played any other electric 12-string.
Roland Jc120 Tunes hi, I can't remember but it was either just JC clean channel on my Roland 80X using the inbuilt chorus or straight into garageband and using one of the amps on there with a chorus pedal, hope this helps!
Love that I'm watching a guy play a Smiths song while rocking a Judas Priest t shirt!

Music has many faces, that's what great about it. You can be a metalhead who loves indie and vice versa.
Metal and the Smiths are a great combination...lifelong metalhead and die-hard Smiths fan here....
Sem dubida o melhor cover que já ví até hoje. Estou preso nesse vídeo e sou fã desse car. 👍👊🙂
Outstanding cover 👏
Nice. There are way too many "sources of truth" on this great song but I think you've nailed the 12 string. Thanks for sharing.
AMAZEBALLS!!! One of my favorite Smiths songs! Thanks man!
The best cover version. Well done!

Sorry for not replying, it is on the second fret but might be quite hard to see and guitar is in standard! Thanks for watching!
Awsome video! Just bought a Hagstrom 355, wild chery, incredible guitar!
Ahhh marr ..... Exquisite

I own a hagstrom super swede and there excellent in my opinion they are better than Gibson’s
always interesting to hear smiths NOT on a rick.
Fantastic playing buddy
very well played! does this guitar stay in tune, and, can you bend the strings like on a 6 string? thx for your time.

@@jamesthompson28 what do you think this guitar weighs? thx again :
@@werksnarks just looked online and it says about 6kg
@@jamesthompson28 like 13 lbs? I thought this guitar would be light since it's semi-hollow

Is this guitar neck as stable and strong as they claim? Have you compared this guitar to any other electric 12s?

thx for all your replies. can you tell me, is the neck finish satin, or gloss?
I’m not sure I’m afraid, I don’t have it with me at the moment to check. Doesn’t seem to say anywhere online either
What amp do you use to get that sound
