I've had this same filter for about 18 months. Works great. Originally hung on chains, but I had to install an opener for my smaller roll-up door that conflicted space-wise. So I built a large ceiling mounted box that's open on two sides, put the filter inside the box, mounted the opener on the bottom, and slung my roll-up extension cord reel on one side and my roll-up air hose reel on the other. Great space saver.
I have 2 in my shop (1 Powertec and the other Wen). They both came from the same factory because the remotes are interchangeable. They do indeed work very well as evidenced from the how dirty the filters get and the air does create a nice circulation, so no complaints there. You're going to love yours.
My shop is only 9ft X 19ft and I installed 2 of these (under different brand). They are on opposite sides of the shop pointed in opposite directions to encourage a circular airflow motion. They clear the air very quickly and generate a nice breeze also. That keeps me cool in summer and distributes the heat from my heater in winter. The amount of dust in the filter is impressive
The Wen is identical to the Shop Fox, Grizzly, Powertec, Jet, and probably others - all the 3-speed 400 CFM max units are probably made in the same factory. The nice part is that when it comes time to replace the inner bag filter you can get whichever filters are cheapest and they should all fit. Last I checked Grizzly.com had the best prices. The outer 5 micron filter can just be blown out with compressed air outside and reused. For what it’s worth I’ve had mine for several years and although I’ve blown out the outer filter a few times, I have not felt the need to replace the inner filter yet.
I have a Shop Fox brand system that is identical to your unit and use it regularly. I have taken the filters out side and used an air compressor to clean them and was surprised how much they had collected. Merry Christmas to you and your family, Steve.
I have the same one Steve. I know it works because I was working with some mahogany for Christmas presents and the filter is now red! Merry Christmas my friend!
Hi Steve I have this exact model and I have had it for well over a year and it works great. I have a garage shop that is 22x20 give or take and it clears the air quite well in there. I have mine on the right side of,my shop sitting high on a shelf... I done have the height to hang it from the ceiling... And it still works great. Happy Holidays to you and your family!
I have been fairly impressed with WEN products. The few I have are really nice. This air filtration setup seems like it is too. Thanks for sharing, Steve.
I have the same air cleaner. I didnt realize how well it works until I turned an red stabilized spalted pen. The outside filter turned red from the fine dust from the pen blank.
The good thing about the chains is that the hooks can really be placed anywhere as long as the 4 chains can reach them. I know wall studs are usually 16" on center. I've seen them 24" on center before. Rafters in the ceiling might be too I guess. I just tap around until it sounds like a stud is there and screw.
I've been looking at it for about a year and thinking do I really want to spend money on something that doesn't cut anything. lol Wish I had just bought one a year ago.
That's one quiet machine, the beeping noise when you were changing settings, was louder ha ha ha. Hope you have a Merry Christmas mate to You and your Family. Barry (ENG)
Hi Bob - Ha ha, I wondered if anyone would notice that. I kept forgetting to turn it on in this video for some reason. Usually it's the first thing I do when I walk in the shop. Mind on a million things this time of year. Thanks for watching and same to you!
Hi Jeff - I had an old furnace blower motor that I was going to use to make one, but never got around to it. Ended up getting rid of it. This was so much easier, looks nice, and I like the remote and timer features.
I have the same unit. I bought mine from a local bargain store. It was an Amazon return. I paid half price for it. It’s been a good addition to my shop.
Good video! Been thinking about getting one of those since my Etsy business for teachers is growing. Spending much of my time in the shop now. I wonder how that thing preforms getting lacquer fumes out of the air? If I decide to pull the trigger on this, I'll use your link bro'!
Hey, Keith, thanks! I will see how it works with lacquer soon and let you know. I'm thinking the fumes may just blow right through it. I usually open the doors and blow the fumes out with the fan, but it sure is cold.
Good deal, Starving Youngun. It'll be pollen season soon and you'll have to beat those filters out with a hammer. Stay warm out in the 90 degree Hotlanta weather and GBWYall from us hillbillies!
Just got mine, installed in and turned it on. Nothing. Light goes on and it hums but doesn't spin or move air. Oh well, I guess it's the old return and get another one. Sigh.

Great, good to hear Troy! I didn't expect to be able to feel the breeze from it.

Installing now to control my K9's dander in the garage and dust from wood working.

Hi Steve. Always fun watching your videos. Merry Christmas!
I was waiting for a giant sneeze. Very good cause, thanks, Steve.
I did sneeze afterward. I always do. Hoping this with help with that.
Looking at your video I bought one today for my shop from Walmart online for $126 plus tax. Thanks for the review !!
Cool! You will like it. I turn mine on just for the slight breeze sometimes.
I live in Arizona and surely can use some breeze in the hot summer in my garage.
I have the same air cleaner. I didnt realize how well it works until I turned an red stabilized spalted pen. The outside filter turned red from the fine dust from the pen blank.
Wow, maybe I should have tried that. I don't think the dust I stirred up showed up well in the video but I tried. lol
I got one and love it. had it for a while it really works well in my basement shop.
I used it while the cnc was on yesterday and it does a good job clearing the air. I might put it right in front of it.
Dust collection is an ongoing (less successful) project in my workshop... good info! All the best to you and your family. Greetings from Portugal.
Steve, Seems to be a good purchase and for your small shop, it should be able to do a great job. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Thanks Mac! Yep, I really wish I had started using one of these like 40 years ago. Hope it helps with my sinus issues I have after being in the shop.
I really hope it helps you!
Great video as always Steve ! Hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas !
Hey man, thanks, Merry Christmas!
Very nice. Those air cleaners do a pretty good job.
Are the hooks spaced in a way that they can all be hung from studs, because aren’t studs 16” on center?

I have 2 wen filters and they work great! They are the same as Jet, Rikon, Grizzly, and others but cheaper.
Thinking about picking one of these up, is it still working well for you after a few years?
Thanks for sharing. I Have been interested in this system before. Maybe I'll get one after Christmas
I've been looking at it for about a year and thinking do I really want to spend money on something that doesn't cut anything. lol Wish I had just bought one a year ago.
@@SteveCarmichael I have been tempted to buy a lot of their products. They seem to have some great tools just don't know anything about them
That's one quiet machine, the beeping noise when you were changing settings, was louder ha ha ha.
Hope you have a Merry Christmas mate to You and your Family.

Hi Barry - Yes, it is very quiet. Merry Christmas to y'all too!
Your sticker spinner wasn’t spinning, lol. Really enjoy your videos Steve. Happy Holidays

What were you using to blow the dust off? I need to buy one of those as I am currently using a leaf blower!
I have exactly the same unit under a different name. I installed two.
Cool!
@@SteveCarmichael One for each lung!!
Merry Christmas Dude!
Hey Brian - Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Good stuff Steve. I may pick up some of these and if I do Ill use your link.
Hi Lewis! The CNC generates so much dust, so I'm hoping it will help with that. Merry Christmas!
Thanks, I think you just saved me time building my own

How is the filter going now ?
Hey, the filter is full. Thanks for reminding me. I'm ordering replacements now.
Nice filtration system Steve! Thanks for sharing the video! Merry Christmas! To you and your family!👍😎JP
think ill need 2 of them or one little bigger
It looks like a pretty good unit Steve. Seems pretty quiet too. I'll be interested in an update./
Yeah, I like how quiet it is. I think I could shoot video while it's on. The timer is a nice feature too because I would forget to turn it off.
I really want one of those, thanks man for your video
It's been on my list for about a year. Kept putting it off but shouldn't have.
Thanks for sharing this seeing as I need some better dust filtration! 👊🏻
How does it work?
It does a great job and I like the breeze it creates in the shop. It's very quite too.
Worthwhile investment Steve! 👍🏻👊🏻

Hi Steve, share 👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Hi Giovanni!
your 96rock tag is upside down.
Ha ha, yeah, I'll go fix that. lol
First....lol...
@Gordon Aitchison I did...
Ha, thanks Robert!!!
