The inspector has no societal or economic class that he conforms to, choosing explicitly to distance himself from class based ideals that the birlings have (the whole I don’t play golf thing) because priestly isn’t just criticising the upper classes, he is advocating for a classless society. Also the idea that Inspector goole sounds like a ghost furthers this idea, as if the inspector is a ghost, in the afterlife there is no class driven society, only alike souls. Similar to ideas in a Christmas carol
At first i am struggling on how to write PEEAL for “ An inspector Calls “. After watching this, makes my life easier. Very helpful and it’s very clear. Thank you so much.
You're very welcome! It's tricky to say how many themes there are for certain, as it's open to interpretation! But I'd say the five I've made videos for (social responsibility, class, gender, age, and power) cover the play pretty well!
I'm supposed to write an essay for AIC on the theme of "class" as a whole for my mocks so do you have any idea how I would use these quotes to structure a grade 7-9 answer
Cramming for an online exam tomorrow haha Anyways, I thought the Birling family were upper class? This is because you have Mrs. Birling who is an upper class married to the middle/upper-class Mr. Birling?
They're upper-middle (i.e. towards the top end of middle class) because of Mr B. A marriage would sort of 'average out' the class of the two people being married, but would be skewed more in the direction of the husband. Upper class is more for royalty, aristocrats, and people with (lots of) land.
- An overview / introduction of the theme or character across the play. - 3-5 paragraphs (whichever paragraph type you normally use), making sure that you go in text order (start at the start; end at the end), slotting in any given extract accordingly if given one! - A short conclusion, but ONLY if you have time! Finished main paragraphs are much more important. 😁

I'm hoping to learn more as a teacher
I hope you found the video to be useful! :)
Is class kind of like social inequality because I decided to do that for my English assessment
Social inequality and class are related, yeah - social inequality is caused by class differences 😊
@@DystopiaJunkie thank you so much!
Listening to this before my mock exam 😭
Good luck!!
do you know the theme we will be doing for mocks this year
No idea whatsoever, sorry!!
does this link to the theme of social inequality?
100%! Class difference is social inequality 😊
Is miss b high class or middle class
Upper middle!
@@DystopiaJunkie so what would be the definition of a high class citizen
The ruling class. People with titles (like Gerald's parents) and land.
@@DystopiaJunkie so would m Birling have become upper class if he indeed had obtained his knighthood?
You know what, I've never considered that! It would have helped him, for sure.
why do you keep saying mr birling is MIDDLE CLASS he is clearly upper
Your video has been very helpful but how do you properly structure inspector calls’ essays?

Just me when he said "but these hills aren't cheap labour they're people" just heard "its wingardim leviosa not wingardium leviosaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrr"
Well done on being the only person to pick up on the energy I was putting down with that quotation!! 😂
