I'm assuming it's because the sculpting in the back can allow for it. You won't be able to get that kind of bend up front without bigger sacrifices to the sculpt in a lot of cases.
I picked up the first release of Raven Spawn awhile ago, when it comes to McFarlane figures overall, it's definitely one of the better ones, but I did also take issue with the placement of the shoulder-cape-portions, their positioning attached to the biceps rather inhibits the upward arm movement at the shoulders, as well as inhibiting the bicep swivel (there is one there, yes). I actually modified that on mine, there was plastic jutting up off the bicep over the shoulder where the cape-pieces are keyed into and glued. I cut those off, sanded where they were and painted the areas to blend in, and actually attached the shoulder-cape pieces to the top of the shoulder caps, still gives some shift to them, but arms move much more freely now
Haunt might be one to review next since that's Spawn's Venom, but Ninja Spawn would also be cool. I got Ninja Spawn and really like it. It's just a dope looking figure its torso actually moves forward better than most if not all his other figures really. It uses a double ball peg for the top torso and bottom and it shows.
For sure. Todd doesn’t need to go all out with the DC figures because because there are no other DC figures available. Every once in a while he’ll put the extra effort to make them great. Meanwhile his Spawn figures are almost always amazing
Of all the releases I've seen, Violator is a badass. Not the best in terms of posing but he has that imposing presence you want in a monster character like that. I also have a soft spot for Clown only because he's my favorite Spawn villain, but Redeemer looks pretty nice. Not $25 nice but a good base for customs
Violator is definitely my favorite of the line so far, although that figure really set my expectations for Spawn Megafigs too high. Like, Violator feels incredibly substantial, whereas I was very let-down by Cygor's cheap-feeling hollow body, thus I haven't even thought to grab Overtkill for fear of the same. I also really like Clown, but not with the impractical weapon-backpack. He's left with a big hole in his back without that, so I decided to make a cap for that backport, disguising it as a back-patch to his leather jacket, made it the design of the smiley-face pin from Clown's jacket from the Spawn movie. They're not-quite-there out of the box, definitely need some work to be fully realized.
My favorite figure from the Spawn line actually is the first release Raven Spawn. I don't have the She Spawn nor Violator(yet) so I haven't experienced those. But I like Raven Spawn since he looks generic enough for other displays but also has decent articulation. The torso is limited but to me the leg articulation somewhat makes up for that. I just need to look into a custom chain for his sickle/hook accessory thing.
Give the new McFarlane Haunt figure a check. It still suffers from no crunch, slightly loose joints and biceps that are sculpted outward at an unnatural angle, but it is a move in the right direction with sculpt, paint applications, better looking wrist/ankle joints and actual, useful accessories.
Gunslinger or She-Spawn are my favorite so far. I have the not-this one version of this, it was on sale somewhere, but I thought basically the same thing, that he'd look cool next to spawn. Turns out...he does.
My favorite figure release from this line has gotta be She-Spawn, then Spawn with throne, Gunslinger, then Soul-Crusher, Haunt almost makes my top though. Been waiting for someone to review the new version of Raven Spawn, I have the old version and really like the new weapons this one comes with but been waiting to see if it's worth it. Can't tell if the paint on this one is different though. Might have to pull the trigger....
This guy is basically what the minimum standard of the McFarlane figures should be. Would be cool if you reviewed Haunt and also the GameStop Excusive Gunslinger Spawn that comes with the horse.
I would also say Violator, She spawn is the better figure, but the size and sculpt of violator really makes me feel like I got the best bang for my buck. The haunt, despite Todd just copying both venom and spawn (which are both his own characters so I guess that's okay?) is actually a surprisingly fun figure too though!
Can you do a review for the Gunslinger spawn? The one with the gatling gun? Though the one with rifle seems the best. Also Todd's releasing a version with a horse, gatling gun, and rifle all in one package. Talk about cashcows huh?
Definitely considering getting into this line. Some of the figures look really cool such as this guy, clown and the violator. Would love to see the first iteration of redeemer
Zup Anthony, as always Mcfarlane figures looking great but with poor articulated joints, crappy Wolverine! I kind of like it, but not $25 tho, thanks for the video 😎
Tempted to say Violator. I know the “correct answer” is it should’ve been skinny cause of nostalgia. I like muscular Violator… and I’d buy it again if they did a Cyber Violator re-release. She Spawn was an awesome figure with enough guns to arm my DC guys with trigger finger hands… Close second.
it's so far a tie between Violator and the MK11 Spawn, he should drop the DC and just go all in on Spawn at least the Spawn stuff is usually worth getting still not perfect but no where near as bad as the DC stuff.
Why can all of today's figures lean backwards like they have no spine? But when it comes to leaning forward, it's the complete opposite.
I'm assuming it's because the sculpting in the back can allow for it. You won't be able to get that kind of bend up front without bigger sacrifices to the sculpt in a lot of cases.

MK 10's Spawn is still my favourite.
It feels like they're putting more effort in the Spawn figures though, but maybe that's just me
For sure. Todd doesn’t need to go all out with the DC figures because because there are no other DC figures available. Every once in a while he’ll put the extra effort to make them great. Meanwhile his Spawn figures are almost always amazing
I really like all of the Spawn figures I've grabbed so far.
Mortal Kombat Spawn favourite release. I with this Raven came with real chains like the good old days.
this year? soul crusher, hands down.

The Target version of Gunslinger Spawn is my favorite so far. I know its not part of the Spawn line but the MK11 Commando Spawn looks sick.
I don't collect Spawn figures, but the designs look really nice.
Engineering aside, Spawn figures can sell on cool factor alone.
The MK11 Spawn figure is honestly fantastic. He looks great with Gundam rifles btw heh
The malefik spawn has been my favorite. Gunslinger is pretty cool.

You should add a suggested price section to your videos so that if people want to buy bad figures, they know how much they should look for
Not a bad idea
One question.
How did you made it stand on it self😳
My favorite is The Gunslinger
A sensible, definite must-watch review! 🤩👍
I Like the *Clown Violator* and the *Devil Mode* of Violator

Would be cool if you reviewed Haunt and also the GameStop Excusive Gunslinger Spawn that comes with the horse.
I’ve resisted the urge to get all of the Spawnverse figures so far, but they are nice to look at.
My original release Raven Spawn's arms would pop right off if I raised them at all. Glad they fixed that!

I love soul crusher, its not the best but it looks cool and can serve as generic post apocalypse dude
What is the difference between Raven Spawn with the chain (blue box) and Raven Spawn with the small hook (red box)?
You just described the differences
I'm liking this line so far. Just getting the figures I like the most tough. Any others getting reviewed? Ninja Spawn, Gunslinger, Mandarin? Thank's!
More reviews coming
That hbo show really stuck with me forever
I've seen this ninja spawn and would love for you to do a review on it.
request review, ninja spawn :) so cool figure
Really wanna see a haunt and ninja spawn review they look like good figures
Great review - thanks for the video. I would say Violator is the figure that is the most impressive for me.
I what to see raven spawn scale to a predator figure ?
Zup Anthony, as always Mcfarlane figures looking great but with poor articulated joints, crappy Wolverine! I kind of like it, but not $25 tho, thanks for the video 😎
How much would individual plastic linked "chains" add to the cost 🤔
my local Target just got a huge restock with v1 Raven and Haunt.
try to get mcfarlane the clown.. i wanna know what's your take on that figure..
His upper abs are molded with the rest of his abdomen, you could probably cut them off the chest and itd look right. Why did the mold them twice?
The mandarin SPAWN designer edition looks cool
Apparently there is a different version of this figure with slightly different accessories
Gunslinger Spawn without the horse. 👍
REview Soulcrusher, ninja spawn, haunt,
Why the hell do they design the figure to bend backwards better than bending forwards 🤔 Stop that!
Rate for this brother?
Sick
Got mine for $15
Thank you for another excellent review Ant❣️💯🤟😽
Tbh I feel like these spawn variants are what’s carrying the entire Mcfarlane toyline
I have the first one of these and I can't see a difference can someone let me know
I did in the video
Ninja spawn. Shinobi bias.
it's so far a tie between Violator and the MK11 Spawn, he should drop the DC and just go all in on Spawn at least the Spawn stuff is usually worth getting still not perfect but no where near as bad as the DC stuff.
Mk11 spawn doesn't count. That's cheating
@@AnthonysCustoms to be fair it is technically a "spawn release" lol
3rd....Gunslinger the 1st 1..
2nd lol, this is defenitely one of the better ones.
Looks like a face on his torso
Gunslinger spawn
He a ? Raven spawn
1st
