Thank you kindly for sharing this video with everyone. As I will soon be wearing a wig. I was diagnosed with 2 different types of Breast Cancer in March of this year. I know nothing about wig's and how they are cared for little on wearing one.
If you use fabric softener, use far less than you think you need.. very little in a lot of water and rinse very well. I have found that works very well.
I think the video you referred to by Taz was how to detangle a wig not wash it. I think she does have a video that she washes with Dawn dish soap and rinses with Downy unscented white fabric softener which I have been using on all of my wigs for 3 years. I've also tried Esthetica shampoo and conditioner and can't really see any difference from the dish soap and downy. Hope this is helpful.
Hi CJ ... thanks so much for your thoughtful comment. I went to check out Taz's video again. Here it is: ua-cam.com/video/M8fnCp2Uoaw/v-deo.html have a look at her timestamp @10:57 and you'll see she is using fabric softener for not just detangling but also washing. I like BOTH methods but I have to admit I did like the result better with the Godiva product. Happy Monday and have a wonderful week.
Angela, can I use Gain fabric softener, instead of Downey ?? I LOVE the scent of Gain Fabric Softener, but NOT Downey. I don’t know why, because they both have a lovely scent. Anyway, I would like your opinion, please. I do not want to mess up any of my wigs. Thank You very much !!!
@@HistoryLover-y7i you can use any fabric softener. Some people have reactions to certain brands. Go with scent and if the softener doesn’t irritate you your good to go
Thank you for the great video. We were wondering if it is okay to skip the wash and go right to the conditioning step. We have a wig that is not dirty but does need some conditioning.
Wow. Great question. I honestly don't know. I think it would depend on if you wore it, how many times, and or how it was stored ??? You could always just wash it without the soap ... just use cool water.
I quit using Downey type fabric softeners in my laundry as they have been proven unhealthy. I’m looking for DYI healthy alternatives for this. Most have PEG, an ingredient I AVOID at all costs. A Any suggestions out there?
@@anncazares111 have you tried the Silicon Mix Bambu deep conditioner? It’s great for reviving synthetic hair. I never use downy on my wigs. I also love Revlon’s leave-in conditioning spray, it leaves just the right amount of natural shine and it doesn’t smell strong.
It doesn’t wash the wig... it masks the odor of scalp oils with the heavy scent. Fabric softener deposits a film on the hair fiber that degrades it over time. I never use fabric softener on my wigs.
Have you used Godiva shampoo and conditioner on Heat Resistant wigs? I know they don't get back to their original texture once washed, and many youtube videos swear by fabric softener. Just wondering if Godiva does a better job? Would love to see you do a comparison on HD wigs.
Hi Janice. I'm away from production for a short while due to Ukraine. I will however think about your idea re: HR wigs and Godiva Shampoo. I love the fragrance from the conditioner. Rochelle wasn't kidding. It smells sooooo good. Thanks for the video idea Janice. Many blessings.
I use Godiva's shampoo/condition on my "Editor's Pick" by RW which is an HR wig. This wig has held up nicely. Well, the hair fibers have, the front lace not so well. But, it is still wearable.
I actually ruined a wig by using fabric softener. I rinsed and rinsed and rinsed, and I did it a few times because that’s how some women wash their wigs and that turned into a gummy mass that I could never get out and it was editors pic by RW so it was an expensive wig… Thank God I didn’t really like the way it looked on me
Greetings Angela! Thanks for the demo! Where is the link to the TB fall? Love and blessings ♥️🦋

I'm new to toppers and this video was very helpful for learning how to wash them.
I use Godivas products, the smell is definitely nicer than fabric softener ,although I never used fabric softener
You look so DIFFERENT with the second one. Younger and BEAUTIFUL ❤❤❤❤👍

Rochelle just said dont put water in sink. Let the water run over it
Hello, it would’ve been nice to be able to see the wig in the water. The camera was too high to be able to see it.
Thumbs up thoroughness!

Never know who to believe
Actually, to condition the wig you put it in the water just like shampoo if you read the label
Hi Christina .... not sure what you mean. :-)
how does fabric softener actually CLEAN the hair? doesn't make sense to me

I have a question: Shouldn't the wig be in the shampoo bath for a few minutes?
