Well yeah, if you don't pay your mortgage, you're gonna lose the house, this isn't news.

No, it's not but what is news is the government sponsored enterprises selling directly to hedge funds and private equity while trying to take the GSE back public. Not only selling them but at huge discounts with amazing equity positions. They will have no incentive to keep the homeowners (families) in the home except for them to rent it back to them after they stripped them of their ownership.

Banks, Credit Unions, and mortgage holders that we would normally use. They want us to keep paying our mortgage and if times are tough, they will give you more grace and maybe wave a fee or two. Otherwise, might give you some more time than ordinary to get to a spot where you can pay consistently. As they do not have ways to sell, and do not want to hold on to your property. It's in the Banks, Credit Unions, and mortgage holders' best interest to allow you to resume paying.
but what he is saying they also can't hold on to people that can pay normally now and look for more good paying people while others that may not be able to pay are making that company a risky one not a charitable one. So, they have to lose some bad loans. but those people are the ones that need help the most.
but what can we do? other than if you have a mortgage pay it. The people without mortgages need a place too. are you saying to reject certain landlords or all landlords? or get a tent until landlords finally can't rent to anymore people? I do not see a way to win. other than saving for a downpayment and buying and never upgrading. more, and more younger coworkers are house hacking or renting out in more less private spaces "shared living quarters." which takes an intermediate home away, which in turn keeps another person in a tiny starter home...
