So adorable!! ButI highly recommend you to use a harness especially for this breed because of their susceptibility for collapsed trachea.

Please use a harness. My little rescue Yorkie had a damaged trachea from his former owner having used a collar and leash. Even though I used a harness, his trachea would sometimes collapse. He would make frightening honking sounds. I would gently rub his neck under his chin and talk calmly to him, telling him he was going to be ok. He passed away a year ago this August.

We used to use a harness for 7+ years but after getting training they told us to use a slip leash. We switch on and off now!
My first yorkie had a collapsed trachea. This was expensive and tragic. I always used a leash because I did not know better. I will never again use a leash on my Yorkies. By the way, they make no pull harnesses
Ducky is the only dog I've ever seen who doesn't seem to mind wearing shoes!!

Such a cutie. Duckie has such good manners, unlike some other pets. Keep loving your pet and teaching him obedience. Some people don't understand this, but that is why their pets are the way they are and your Dickie is the way he is. Awesome❤❤❤❤😍

Suggest A harness is a better choice than attaching the leash to the collar. I have two small yorkies and I always use a harness on them.
This isn't true! The slip lead is the best for training and a harness promotes pulling and is great for play time or as a reward.

@@DuckytheYorkie don’t like that fact you can’t even take a suggestion.... you just go straight to attack mode. Vets and trainers often recommend harnesses for small dogs, who can injure themselves straining against a collar. A harness reduces strain on your dog's neck by distributing pressure over a larger area of their body. Plus, they can be more secure than collars, which some small dogs slip.

Ihave had Yorkies, for all together for 10+, yrs.and my dogs,one had passed, but she hated those shoes or booties,I call them, my second Yorkie, Diamond I know probably wouldn't wear them , Diamond looks like Ducky,and wakes me up ,for our 5:30am..walk,or earlier, but I get up early anyways, and when Diamond do not go for her walks because of the weather she acts sad all day,and go jump in one of her doggie beds.she just loves her walks so much.!!

I was very surprised by the criticisms regarding the crate, his shoes, length of his walk, letting him go downstairs on his own, waiting to eat, and using a lead instead of a harness.
There's nothing awful about having your dog sleep in a crate. Dogs are den animals; they are perfectly comfortable in one.
I didn't see any specific reason why the pup needed to wear shoes but he wore them well. If the weather ever dictates that shoes would be beneficial (snow, rain, mud, ice, etc) he's ready.
A 45 min walk would be excessive for a young puppy. Ducky appears to be grown; terrain seemed flat, 45 minutes was not too much.
An adult dog going down the steps on his own is acceptable. Encouraging a dog to run up/down steps over and over is not.
Training Ducky to wait before eating and coming out of his crate is helping him develope impulse control. Even little dogs need to learn they don't get everything they want when they want it.
I have to agree about the harness though. If he should suddenly decide to chase a squirrel, a harness is safer.
Little dogs need rules, boundaries and training just like big dogs do.

Hi there I had a toy yorkie named Thumbelina for 19 years. Trust me the stairs not good for their legs. Better off carrying him up and down stairs, less impact. God bless you both.

My yorkie sleeps with me. They don’t like to be alone.
I tried the crate, but mine cried to be close to me. As soon as we put her in bed with us she felt more secure. No more crying. I do believe in crates for short period of time when I leave the house…while still training. Once comfortable with housebreaking, she will be free to roam.

I recently watched the Disney plus Cesar Milan show and This Yorkie was on it! I had no idea he was a social media animal! He bites and had major issues attacking his male owner! Yikes!
Yes, what you see on the show is only 2% of him 😕 and we’re still training him to be better and are happy to say he’s definitely gotten a lot better!

Use a harness please. Yorkies are prone to trachea collapse. My sweet 11 yr old girl was recently diagnosed with this condition.

Does someone know if her yorkie’s “hair” was fluffy naturally? Or if she did something with it? I have a Yorkie and his “hair” isn’t like that, I want to have a yorkie with fluffy “hair”
I'm not an expert on yorkies but it looks to me as if the pup's fluffy hair is likely the result of its haircut.
Sleeps in a nice little crate, walks flawlessly in his booties, waits patiently for his food, what not to like here?👍
How about He should NOT be sleeping in a small crate! Thats cruel. That Breed does much better emotionally sleeping in the bed with the owner..It also creates a stronger bond between hime and the owner.

I dont reccomend the LipiDerm fish oil sense most of there products contain casotr oil which can be toxic to dog when ingested.
