Thank you for this video! I don't suck! I'm just a regular paddler!!! I appreciate how you mentioned to take your time. Oftentimes, for whatever reason, I feel I need to rush through these exercises, which undoubtedly uses up more energy as there's a direct correlation with rushing and failure! I need to remind myself to take my time.
Please, please can you guys post some more instructional videos…..I haven’t laughed so much since Manuel acquired his’Siberian Hamster’ in Faulty Towers. On a more serious note I echo the comments of others who have praised the fact that it’s great to see mortals trying out some of the manoeuvres that the pros seem to do so easily….it’s sobering to to be reminded just how difficult it might be getting back into your boat if things go wrong. Thanks for posting.
Never tried canoeing thinking of starting at the grand old age of 64. Well done that was amazing being able to self rescue yourself. And yes practice practice so it becomes second nature like every thing in life. Ps love the language 🤭😂😂😂😂
I’m 73 and off to practice paddle float recently tonight. She is not a barrier to enjoying yourself. Its only negative self talk that stops you. Join a club and get some instruction.
Oh wow, I didn't think someone would get the message that the video is about having fun while practicing unpleasant kayaking stuff, but you did get it exactly Stephen, thanks👍😄 There clearly is no experts in this video, so laughter is the best reaction 😄
This is brilliant - honest portrayal of the difficulty of turning theory in to reality! Worth showing again at the end how it actually was meant to be. Thanks for this.
Lot of fun! not sure if it's the easiest way but none of those ways are easy I suppose. good laugh anyway. just to let you know NRS paddle float comes with a manual how to re-enter describing most popular way in detail. I kept laughing too when she said she'll wee herself haha. Today in Lee Valley whitewater centre although failed assessment, I managed couple of times to re-enter Grabner Hype inflatable kayak with no paddle float support.
Both the right and the wrong way seem like medieval torture. I feel your pain. I'm currently trying to re-enter without paddle float and I'm nowhere near any success.😢 Only the pain is always there.
I don't see any reason not to pre-inflate a float and stick it on my spare paddle stored in the front, so I do. Helped minimize my time losing heat in the cold choppy windy water last time I dumped myself in the water
It's nice to see normal kayakers practice this, instead of all the pros videos. I don't feel so bad with my tries now!
You should never feel bad about practicing....
Fantastic! A serious message with added laughter, frustration and realism. Thank you both.

Very good video, that's real practice!! When I'm in a bad mood, I'll put it on to lift my spirits hahahaha🤣👏👏👏
I practiced paddle float re-entry today. I got laughed at too. But not that bad. Thanks for a fun video!
It’s always more fun watching then doing 😂 but with a few more goes it becomes easy. Well done
It.s a bit of comedy, but shows, how difficult it is the first time/s. I love the humor in this situation!!! 🥰

We’ve all been there, practice, practice and practice to get better and quicker 👍
She was very patient with him. I’d have left him and gone home 😊
What paddle are you using in the yellow kayak? How do you like it?
good rescue training .. thanks.
😂👍 Fantastic video

never put a still inflated paddle float between your legs. When you recapsize you will be trapped in the boat!!
