More than likely they won't be able to bring the crossover skins due to licensing agreements. A new agreement would need to be made for that to happen.
im honestly excited for this but the "compensation" is just terrible. I don't mind not having my skins and other cosmetics (in fact I quite like the idea of having all new skins) but I don't want 50% off coupons. I want my bloody gems in whatever new currency they are using it just feels like a cash grab. i have to put more money on the game to spend the money that i should have already? i dont appreciate it. edit: i also understand that porting over all the cosmetics would cost way too much and take too much time so again i really dont mind not having my old skins.
Now, I understand where yall are coming from with this, but with the game being free, they're essentially making a shit load of new stuff half-off. When a sequel for a game comes out, do you expect to get half off because you bought the previous game? This is a really nice compromise, IMO.
Nah, it’s awful. This will be the death knell of Smite honestly. They shoulda just given back the gems without the disrespectful strings attached bs. I’m not putting anymore money into Low-Rez ever again.
my concern with legacy gem system is that almost anything in smite 2 will be priced to compensate for the players using 50% off deal, so basically a shit skin is gonna be worth 800gems so you can buy it for 400 gems in smite 2.
There is really only two issues I have but I understand the reasons for it. Not everything getting transferred over and both SMITE 2 and SMITE 1 running concurrently. Both have the same reasons really. It was unfeasible to transfer everything over so SMITE 2 was built separately. It sucks for the skins but I understand. I hope having both games doesn't gut the player base any worse. Hoping those two things don't just make SMITE 2 DOA.
I think this is the best worded thing i have seen on it Yes it sucks and hopefully it isn't a DOA for smite 2 (I honestly don't think it will be) but it is also insane to expect all the skins to be transferred over to smite 2 considering the massive changes in engines
@@peoplesactionsnottheirword8760 Yes but if you payed with gems for it you get those gems back, including the free gems you earned during these 10 years.
yah i calced it out to be 1.8 million hours of work for them to add them all in. thats based on how long they said it would take add one skin.@@GuruFromEHRPG
One of the biggest upgrades to the game that I noticed is the Intelligence vs Strength aspect. It seems they finally learned the value of trade-offs. No longer will someone's autos & abilities do insane amounts of damage at the same time...... (I'm looking at you Marti & AMC) 😂
@@colefranklinmarketing Not currently, he's fluctuated in & out of Pro play. Right now he isn't Meta, but when he is Meta he's absurdly annoying to deal with. Not hard, just annoying. Marti is both hard & annoying to deal with.
@@AimbotFreak They gave an example with Cern. His ult is now based on Intelligence, and his Autos are strength based I'm assuming. They said each characters abilities will have their own stat they build off. So, in Cern's case, it's probably safe to assume his 2 is Intelligence based as well. Meaning if someone fully specs into Strength with Cern, then their abilities won't hit as hard. Which kinda negates any complaints about scaling. Also, physical damage isn't really a thing anymore. It's strength & intelligence now.
The only reason I enjoy playing Smite more than LoL, was the third person View they actually gave the vibe of the world of smite, I've been so happy playing this ever since I was introduced when it first came out on the Xbox one and never since gave up. I'm so excited to see the new visuals on the new engine, and it's going to come out really fun, and I can't wait to play with my friends. Ps i enjoy the usage of the controller instead of just mouse and keyboard
@@joltedsol7987my only worry. But as the og poster said it’s probably better for the health of the game. The new players who definitely will flock will be outclassed by those of us who have insane play times. Im well over 3k hrs played on pc and 1k on xbox. Once diamond in conquest. My point being, players like me and probably everyone on this channel will have a inherent advantage to noobs coming in. If you slow bleed the gods it should give newer players somewhat of a chance to learn. Imagine everything being available and them having to learn how to counter it all lol. I know my girl yemoja wont be available early so that will suck but im excited for this.
@@joltedsol7987 It's either gonna be wait a couple of years to wait for certain gods or wait the same amount of time to play the whole game... if you don't want to play Smite 2 when it out because a god you like isn't available yet, just keep playing Smite 1.
@@joltedsol7987I doubt it would take years. 100 of the old gods should be in a year after release with them also adding in new gods unique to smite 2. Not that bad
2 gods per month would mean 5 years for 96. That's a long time to get closer to the 130 current roster. They will need to bump it up faster than that to keep existing players from falling off missing their favorite gods but as of now this is all we have heard. I won't be surprised if new ones are added on top of the 2 per mo to keep fresh content in.
just glad I get to keep Smite 1, not transferring my smite 1 skins and then transferring them into gems that I can only use for half price makes it kinda pointless for me especially if im waiting anywhere from a couple months to a year for the character I actually play
DoA cus you can’t transfer skins. People like myself aren’t just going to give up $100s-$1000s worth in skins for some new currency which only allows you to buy the worst skins in smite 2 Devs are specifically locking the best new smite 2 skins to not be purchaseable with the currency you get from smite 1. If you cant buy at a 1:1 tiers 5 and crossover skins the game wont get played. Not a good trade to give up my tier 5s for some new currency that i cant even use to buy a new tier 5 in smite 2. You always compensate with equal or more for what someone lost hi rez. You dont offer less than what someone lost
I know this will be a sad approach but I ll gladly play until there are 1000 players in EU on Smite1 and matchmaking goes sideways and be able to use that T5 and the other skins that I hold dear after buying them rather than pay another 1 Euro/dollar whatever just to unluck the ability to use "legacy gems" effectively on Smite2.
I honestly doubt crossover skins will be ported over at all, as they would have to pay for the licenses again. Currently all i can see is Smite 2 killing itself and taking Smite 1 with it.
I'm curious to know how many people are gonna play 2 with most their skins not being available. I don't think a better engine will bring in many new players and I know skins not being transferred will lose a load of players
Dunno, Smite is an action game, not The Sims, it sucks not having all skins of course, but the vast majoritry will try the game, and if the gameplay and performance are a big improvement over Smite 1, most won't care that they lost some cosmetics. Still, this game will need a god tier launch with barelly any bugs or problems, cause if the game is a buggy mess at launch, that and the lost skins will make everyone abandon it.
I'm excited, but also worried. The skin situation definitely sucks, but if the devs took the time to port all of the skins, we'd never see Smite 2 for years and years so it's understandable why they're doing it this way. Also, them keeping Smite 1 alive might split the player base too much, so hopefully Smite 2 won't be DOA. I think Smite really needed to do this sooner or later, Unreal engine 3 is just too outdated at this point. Hopefully, we won't have another Overwatch 2 situation on our hands.
Nah you can transfer the skins and have them at a lower quality and then update them later. Not transferring them is nothing but greedy and lazy. Stop making excuses for them and maybe they'll actually care for once.
@@reanukeyves9041 there needs to be an actual financial incentive for a company to release an entire engine update on their game or it will simply never happen. Hirez picked a good compromise. How are they supposed to afford the manhours needed for every single skin to be remade?
@@reanukeyves9041lol you cant you literally have to recreate it either way without all the skins people bought and without all the gods we currently have i think alot of people will stop playing
I would say only getting to spend legacy gems on 50% of a purchase is pretty shit…I bought a skin, and now I have to buy it again but just half off. I should just be able to use legacy gems however I want…I get that they could be much more greedy, but it’s still a bit of a slap since it’s you’re not buying actual new things. You’re buying things you’ve already bought in the lesser gen game.
My biggest worry for smite 2 is monetization. If i lose loads of my favourite skins and my compensation is i dont have to pay as much on skins i like less then that feels really crap
Not very happy about losing all of the T5 skins I've paid for. Yes I know Smite 1 will still be up and running, but will it really be up and running if there's no player base? So Legacy gems are kind of like a coupon for up to 50% off... which means I would still have to buy gems, or somehow earn a lot of gems in order to get full value from my nearly 120k gems that I've had and spent over the last 9 years... I'm not thrilled about that. I was already considering stepping away from Smite after worlds, but this might just solidify that decision.
Tbf if you spent $1000 on smite 1, you only get a discount for $500 worth of content, so you need to have given them $1500 across both games to use all of your legacy stuff. It is kinda scummy
I like the new system of CC appearing as a pop-up above an enemies head, now I won't have any more problems with lack of communication of when an enemies stunned or not. In the same vein, Beads being used having a pop-up is also a very good change for the same reasons.
50% OFF is NOT fair cause what about or limited skins? archon thanatos etc... not to mention they can just make the skins worth twice as much and then say its "half off" even though its just the regular price.
Since I mainly got skins off of battle passes and few free chests here and there with the most money I spent was the very first odyssey, Im pretty good to go to Smite 2, though I do get why people who actually spent money would be upset. BUT Im just so excited by the modernization of the game
@Kryptic245 I've spent an embarrassing amount over the almost years that I've played the game. It may not be a lot to some but it was a lot to me and more than any other game. It just doesn't feel right to me.
I've been casually following Smite since I quit forever ago via your content and I'm so excited about Smite 2. I've already returned to the game in anticipation of Smite 2 and I can't wait, thank you for all the work you put into your content.
I mean I can understand as the amount of work to port every cosmetic over would have Smite 2 coming out in 20 years, it but I hope they try to remake the favorite skins and offer them to free for veterans who had them before.
I'm certainly interested though there's a few things that I caught. Firstly, founders packs make me worry the base game won't be free. Maybe it'll just be like the Yearly passes that the game has now but I'm a bit concerned. Secondly, the fact not all gods will be available on release as confirmed by the line "when they are added". Hopefully they add them back in batches over the first year instead of eventually but only when we feel like it. Finally, the whole idea of the Legacy Gems is worded strangely but it seems you can only use them to buy half of something while still having to pay as normal for the other half. I understand that they can't transfer everything. That much is fine. But, for a thing that is billed as a reward for long time players loyalty, it seems rather scummy . Like "We removed all your items but you can buy them back from us at only half the price." It seems pretty cool. I just worry on how their gonna handle it, especially monetarily.
The game will almost certainly be free. It would be a HUGE blunder to not do that. The founder's packs will just be to support the game and if you've spent a lot of gems in SMITE 1 they'll be a way to boost your purchasing power in S2. All gods won't be available on launch but they are adding a SMITE 1 ported God every 2 weeks so depending on the launch roster we should be looking at every SMITE 1 God launching within the first couple of years. The legacy gems are pretty fair imo. I understand that they can't let people just buy things for free with their legacy gems cause the game would make practically no money for many years after launch given how much of their profits come from whales that have spent 10s of thousands of gems on SMITE 1.
@@Inters3ct Yup this has made me very sad for them and also for me because it has been a decade of playing and gaining things and now losing 90% of them. I know they wont have money to fund smite2 by selling skins to old players - if they were to let us use 100% of legacy gems in Smite2 skins. But I need to pay more money just to "unlock" the thousands of legacy gems that I will have? No...In this case (cash grab) I could say why they cant be supported by new players coming in buying the Smite2 skins or sponsors? Or at least if a Smite2 skin is 1200gems in "new gems" it will be 2400, 3600 or 4800 (whatever higher multiple of base) in "legacy gems" and that way I get skins and I also will empty out the legacy gems. Just to make me spend all the legacy gems and I'll be happy that I get some skins for being here for 10years and after I empty those out I can support the game again by buying "new gems". This might be a stupid idea but whatever. If the 50% stays...End of an era or maybe will play with default.
I wouldn't worry about the founders pack thing, All of their games have always had this. Smite 1 had this with buy in 'closed' beta back in the day. I agree with you on the Legacy Gems thing, It feels super anti-consumer and very manipulative. They are dangling a reward that you have to match like for like with real money to actually access, and there are a bunch of people that will get caught in the sunk cost of the fact that Smite 1 will be closing down (they can claim that won't be the case but unless Smite 2 falls flat on it's face, the player base will dwindle in Smite 1, or they will shut it down outright after Smite 2 is in full release) and will dump money in that they may not otherwise have spent just to try to cling on to the perceived value of what they had in Smite 1. Honestly there needs to be some middle ground for me to feel like it's not super scummy, being able to full buy whatever their equivalent of T2-3 skins with T4-5 skins remaining the 50/50 feels, or being able to full buy god unlocks with Legacy Gems (if the end up not doing a God Pass) but skins remain 50/50. There needs to be something because as of right now it just feels like they are trying to exploit FOMO.
@@Inters3ct This is what an employee would say. "They can't let people just buy things for free" - They were already purchased, and you're paying again.
Cutting down content doesn’t justifies better graphics. They said they are reliesing 2 gods per month, which means over 4 years to releasing old gods. And i doubt hi rez will manage to take care of smite 1 and 2 at once. If you are gonna release smite 2, just kill smite 1 already.
ye indeed, smite really misses the "enchanter" type supports. Only Aphro Hel and Change and maaaybe yemoja qualify for that, but still yemoya is built full tank and has a lot of cc, Change and hel support are considered hella troll and aphro just sucks 90% of time. Would really love to see a bit of variety. But ofc first of all they should work at just adding every single existing god to the game, since thats my biggest concern rn, that they take too long with that and the game will die out since the player base will be split and there will be ppl whose favourite gods arent added and so they wont be playing smite 2.
@@tychobrandsma2929i still use her in diamond lobbies. Isis when ran right is annoying to deal with. Easily focused but it doesnt happen nearly as much as youd think. I believe my key is using absolution. I feel its a highly undervalued item. I supp main to be clear.
@@tychobrandsma2929 but thats the thing, key word here is for a while. Plus she was not designed or balanced to be a support. The thing with smite is that the game is so set into these classes and that supports are guardians midlaners are mages etc etc. Alright past few years have gotten better with innovation, but support role is still mainly only guardians with a really rare exception, that usually doesnt last long. Its just the fact, that the outlier champions are actually made for other roles and when they become good in support they get outted out of the role quickly. If you have played even a bit of league then an example there is pantheon support or sett. They are basically the classic wariors, that got really good in support, but was just pushed out just for the sake that Riot games did not want them to be supports. But at least the variety in league is much larger so it is not really a problem as much as in smite. Plus a big problem in smite is that even the guardians all play similarly and rarely have any innovation in their kits. A big criticism i have with the whole game. All of them have a dash, some displacement and something else that is mainly just irrelevant. Only ulti is sometimes exciting, but still nothing that special when you think about it. As for a player coming from league i feel spoiled with fresh and innovative ideas that league had, almost not a single champ there follows the same gameplay pattern as any other. They all play differently even if something is similar. in smite almost every god in particular role plays the same way with only a few exceptions.
I am really excited. Hecate looks super cool as well. Really happy for them. I am bummed about the skins but I get it. I do hope T5 and crossover skins at least cross over. I assume that the game will launch with all the gods that have come out in the past like 4-5 years since those all look fine and do not really need updates and such. So I would bet we will have the full roster back by the end of the first release year.
Apparently Hi-Rez don’t expect the entire roster to be ready within the first year, but I haven’t heard that from official sources. But frankly I understand that, just going off of Anhur ult the animation is very different and no doubt took a lot of time to re-animate and it seems like the last hit might have a different effect than the others prior. Plus we don’t even know what else in his kit has been changed, even just visually, so if they can deliver 1 god every 2 weeks up until they hit the hundred twenty something we have now, plus new items and or new item systems entirely I think people are expecting to much
3:41 they said there’s over 1,600 skins and yes two months per skin and that is Just to unreal 5 specs that’s not the fine tuning included. I’d say I’ve easily bought 20 8,000 gem packages on my account… so the 160,000 gems is gonna last me years and years.
So everyone knows all the gems you spent for the past 10years will be refunded but can only be used to purchase 50% of the cost of smite 2 skins the other 50% you'll have to buy the new currency
Yeah..They really fumbled the bag with the skins/gems situation.... If they don't find another solution other than giving you a shitty discount this game will be dead , and if you are someone that doesnt spend money on the game like me the legacy gems are completely USELESS. I didn't spend 9 years building an account just for this to happen, and you can't bring up the argument of "oh but smite 1 will still be active" yes it still will be active but it will take a major hit in both quality of patches since hirez will have a new baby and playerbase since people will either migrate, try things out etc. I was literally screaming from hype when i was watching the stream and smite 2 got announced but when they started talking about the skins topic i burst out laughing bc i could already see the shitstorm coming.
and the 360p as a perfect contrast! jk, this game really does look amazing. Probably going to take quite a bit of getting used to, i've been playing on Smite's Potato graphics for the better part of 5 years now, and the feeling is almost like cleaning your glasses after having them being dirty for months. It's so crisp it's weird, but after you start to realize that it looks better Still praying for Hestia and Demeter, my goats
Currently the main concern I have is stat transferring. They’ve made mention of badges you’ll get saying how many stars on a god you have and what not, but I hope if they do a more thorough stat transfer since they’ve been able to give everyone’s stats before with the 10 year commemorative videos they sent to out.
Another cool thing mentioned is all voice packs will be ne unlocked by default. They really want that immersion of the character so im stoked for that. If they have an unlock all gods pack again I'll likely return then.
Im kinda afraid that theyve removed all the things that made smite unique like the relics and gods only having 1 power in favore for a system like league with certain items having actives and and basic attacks and abilities having separate damage types
my biggest hope for someone whos moved to japan because of the military. is that the player base opens up in japan so i can play on japanese servers and not have to be on 150+ ping
the fact that not everything is transferring over and that it’s improving so much visually that i won’t be able to play it unless i get a new console is unfortunate, bc ppl like me are gonna be more likely to just stop playing when it comes out rather than invest that much money for one game since the new consoles are rather bare when it comes to exclusives imo
So like... is there a real reason to do this? Something besides an aesthetic update that will never matter that much (and indeed might make the game harder to play for a decent number of people) and most likely some cash-grab opportunities? Cause, as it stands, I see no reason to do this that outweighs what it will cost in terms of things like cosmetics not transferring and needing to wait for gods to be ported into a game that, by rights, should take as long to come out as it takes to port the full roster (insofar as it needs to come out at all).
I didn’t spend 600€ on skins for them just not to transfer them and the legacy gems are NOT the Solution because you need the new gems to be able to use them
Now you only need 600€ of new gems to actually use all your legacy gems, isnt that fkn nice. Also Collab skins like TMNT, Avatar, RWBY, MtG are probably not ported over as they would have to pay for those licenses again. Smite 2 is just a fkn cashgrab and will kill itself and take Smite 1 with it.
Very excited, smite just needs to pull in a bigger player base. These changes all seem very clearly to be to get new players in. Sunset the roster into something that is easier to understand and steadily bring back characters to constantly create hype. Simplify the shop down, removing arbitrary trees in favour of simple approach system. It’s sad this had to come at the cost of skins and gods, but this might be the investment the community makes to ensure smite exists for years to come
Skins were needlessly removed given they're easy to port on UE and only 25 gods are coming on release, but everything they've done is to bring in new players and get them to spend money. That's the actual reason they didn't bring back the old skins, to not over pollute the shop for new players, just the same as the item shop
@@PhantomMiria22 Stoked to get all new releases 50% off till smite 1's purchases are exhausted. Pretty considerate of them to think of legacy purchases at all 🤙🏼

I dont think SMITE will make a comeback man. Ive put 3k hours into this game since open beta, I love Smite, but I havent played it in years because its just a joke now. Fat Loki started the fall when HiRez realized how much money they make with joke skins. There were always some not serious skins, but they never went too far unlike Hotdog Odin, wacky the pupper kukul, etc. This used to be a game about cool gods and its become unrecognizable, more akin to fortnite and a mobile game than anything else. Not to mention the over monetization fell from direct purchase to RNG rolling in chests. I have no hope the greed will be fixed. Smite 2 wont bring me back to the game.
my biggest issue with this is there had stance on not transfering skins accross, they have 2 ways they could have gone about doing it 1 is port of the skins as is and slowly update them over time line 2-4 skin a patch or something or 2 relase the updated skins again 2-4 per patch over time. the other issue is with the cross-platform skins coming with s11 this games been in devlopment for a few years now so why is it that now that they are making skins cross-platform
Disappointing. Now they get to sell me my skins again (50% off is still expensive). And, I got so many free skins and BP in Smite. I'm not mad at HiRez, but I honestly don't plan to do it all over again. Life is too short.
Very very nice. Much better graphics, textures, engine and new animations for abilities?! Very nice. Also, Chaac looking sexy. I approve. Hopefully Chaac gets his moan on all of his skins. The handsome man is looking good! Not saying Chaac was included in the release trailer for me and my 50 stars but I appreciate it! Also, IGN said "brand new backend matchmaking system" so HOPEFULLY this means no more golds and plats ON MY TEAM while the enemy team are full diamond and masters players. Hopefully shifters and other bruiser items come back so us warriors may thrive once again. Smite is at its best when warriors are strong. Wait so now EVERYONE gets a free ward?! Constantly?????? Now their is absolutely NO reason why these high ego hidden profile adc mains reduse to ward. Absolutely NO reason! Finally, I can't wait to see people dodge games in unreal engine 5 because NOBODY wants support.
I always wanted ymir's wall to constantly exude his passive of frostbite to be applied to those within a medium proximity, but a jump for ymir is also equally chill (*budum-tis*)
I gotta be blunt and just remind myself that the money I've spent on Smite 1 was money spent on a crusty digital live-service game, for fun. Sure, there are skins I'll miss having, but ABSOLUTELY NOTHING was ever promised to me beyond that when buying them. So that said - the fact that it's a "true sequel", the deal they're giving with the Legacy Gems sounds pretty dope, especially with the upcoming cross-gen stuff. The legacy packs seem like a 'spend money to "make" money' -situation since it increases buying power, and okay, might as well support em, I say to myself. You know what I'll really miss alongside skins?! Music Themes... I'm a weirdo who's collected those. I wonder what they'll do with them... I'm sure they'll figure something out with the Tier 5s and some of the legendary Limiteds anyway... I choose to stay optimistic for once.
I was hoping for gameplay innovation too like adding in the Z axis. Being able to aim up and down, and verticality added. Since they're adding the gods slowly over time they could do mini re works to each of their kits to account for verticality
for the skin transfered, i wish we would get for exemple thanatos archon for those you had it in smite 1, or all the limited skins(which is not too many)
i like to think this adds a sorta new “hype” for when gods release now. they could do pretty cool visual teasers or trailers for them and people will be hypeeee especially if it’s gods we main in smite 1
So one note, if they are only porting 2 gods a month and the report that its launching with only 25 gods 5 of which being new gods. That means there is still roughly 120 more gods to port and at a pace of 2 a month that would take 60 months or 5 years..... thats pretty rough imo
My understanding was the goal is to have them all rereleased in 2 years. That would mean a good portion will be available at launch. I couldve been misunderstanding but it seems intersect was saying the same.
Not being able to carry over skins does kinda suck but I’m interested how the god pack will work. With these god changes it feels like long time players will lose that as well.
That looks fucking amazing, I quit smite around the time charon came out but this MIGHT just get me back to smite, the only complaint I have is that the map is still on a level plain, I really wish they had peaks and troughs in lane and jungle, maybe a few elevations too, granted that would mean reworking a few god kits slightly to allow for use of elevations (fenrir, odin, baccus ) for example but that for me would have been the icing on the cake Side note as its a whole new game on a new engine does that mean that FINALLY we'll be getting rid of the spaghetti coding?
Everyone seems to have the same sentiments - totally unexpected and very excited. I get why they didn't port all the skins and as someone who has played since alpha for Smite, I feel very much like they're respecting the time and money I've put into the game. Makes me even more interested at going full steam ahead when Smite 2 gets here.
This looks great. But it concerns me. Been playing smite for over 10 years and I really feel they should have just overhauled the entire thing. I’m afraid this will make or break hi rez. You know why games like Minecraft and LoL are still around and still top of the list 20 years after launch? They never made a “part 2”. They just keep updating the originals and people keep coming back. I’m hoping this is great. I’m hoping it makes people want to play and stay.
I really hope it's successful. I will love a reason to go back into Smite. Been playing Pokémon Unite so I'd love to go back and forth between the two games. Enjoying your work
As a new player, I’m definitely gonna appreciate not having to learn 700 different gods builds and intricacies. I’ve been playing for over a year and not only do I not understand half of them still but I also am still not allowed in ranked and it do feel bad.
I started giving up smite some time ago and started playing paragon and warlander. The latter two have undulating terrain, slopes, steps and grass, as well as corresponding parabolic attacks. In comparison, Smite 2 doesn't seem to have anything similar, maybe this is to lower the difficulty and certainly make it less challenging.

More than likely they won't be able to bring the crossover skins due to licensing agreements. A new agreement would need to be made for that to happen.

my concern with legacy gem system is that almost anything in smite 2 will be priced to compensate for the players using 50% off deal, so basically a shit skin is gonna be worth 800gems so you can buy it for 400 gems in smite 2.
I think this is the best worded thing i have seen on it
Yes it sucks and hopefully it isn't a DOA for smite 2 (I honestly don't think it will be) but it is also insane to expect all the skins to be transferred over to smite 2 considering the massive changes in engines
Honestly idc if skins not get over to smite 2 I just hope they make every god they made in og smite go to smite 2 to following years.
"we're taking away all the skins you paid money for"
Is essentially the message they are sending and it is going to piss a ton of people off.
Yeah but AMC is not good or viable in high level play. Casuals, or gold ranks and lower in conquest sure. Outside of that he’s just not a worthy pick.
They probably haven't changed the scaling on physical dmg so this would still be existing.
@@colefranklinmarketing Not currently, he's fluctuated in & out of Pro play. Right now he isn't Meta, but when he is Meta he's absurdly annoying to deal with. Not hard, just annoying. Marti is both hard & annoying to deal with.
@@AimbotFreak
They gave an example with Cern.
@@colefranklinmarketingall gods are viable at all levels of play. Get over yourself.
When smite 2 finally releases I hope they make another "to hell and back" cinematic.
they will release "back to hell" showing all players going to smite 2 all over again
I like adding 2 new gods a month because it lets newer players learn the gods slowly
A terrible idea to me, with over 100 gods some people are gonna have to wait years to play their favorite gods again :/

People like myself aren’t just going to give up $100s-$1000s worth in skins for some new currency which only allows you to buy the worst skins in smite 2
Devs are specifically locking the best new smite 2 skins to not be purchaseable with the currency you get from smite 1.
Mate, I'm impressed you could keep it a secret so well
I'm curious to know how many people are gonna play 2 with most their skins not being available. I don't think a better engine will bring in many new players and I know skins not being transferred will lose a load of players
Games fucking dead broski
I'm not touching SMITE 2 until they say they're porting over skins, even a little at a time
Smite 2 might die along with all the spin-offs they tried. It will have to be unbelievably more fun to play for this to work.
Ngl the new graphics look a much more smooth rather than looking visually better looks more akin to a cartoon
If they can’t transfer all the skins my ideal scenario is transferring the 2-3 most used skins as well as the tier 5s for each god
And crossover
Dude no. Many other games as a live service have done this in a better way. They could have rebuilt the game and it still been Smite.
MINIMUM T5 skins, MINIMUM
@@josephjahn2239 Counter Strike, Overwatch, Fortnite and New call of duties all rebuilt their games but kept your purchases
@@josephjahn2239SMITE 2 is 2 generations apart. That is way too much content to completely transfer over and overhaul for SMITE 2.
It’s gonna kill both games.
They will port the skins and resell them, anyone believing that this won't happen is fucking stupid.
The only thing I hate is that alpha doesn’t start until spring!!!!! 2-3 months to start alpha!!!!! 😩😩😩
Tbf if you spent $1000 on smite 1, you only get a discount for $500 worth of content, so you need to have given them $1500 across both games to use all of your legacy stuff. It is kinda scummy
Crazy, we got Smite 2 before GTA6
Can't wait for all 2000 players to merge lmao.
I like the new system of CC appearing as a pop-up above an enemies head, now I won't have any more problems with lack of communication of when an enemies stunned or not. In the same vein, Beads being used having a pop-up is also a very good change for the same reasons.
It was so incredibly hype to be at SWC for the reveal! I'm glad to see so much positivity and that creators are excited as well.
5:05 omfg that anhur ult looks insane
That's not a fair gem transfer imo. Kind of a rip off imo.
Especially if you're not a streamer or whale that has dropped thousands of dollars on the game.
I really /really/ hope that add verticality to maps. Just a shelf, some stairs, different levels, something to make it more interesting
Im so excited but im also upset that im not getting any of my skins to be carried over
I mean I can understand as the amount of work to port every cosmetic over would have Smite 2 coming out in 20 years, it but I hope they try to remake the favorite skins and offer them to free for veterans who had them before.
Not getting our skins is total vs
They are getting carried over your ownership of them won't be.
They should bring back Odyssey voting but we vote which t5 from smite 1 is remade in smite 2
Like "We removed all your items but you can buy them back from us at only half the price."
It seems pretty cool.
Real question is whether the god pack transfers over@@Inters3ct
I hope they rework some gods and make ability supports. It would be nice to have gods that are squishy but have high utility yo support their team.
ye indeed, smite really misses the "enchanter" type supports.
Wasn't kind of what assassin supports did?
Eset supp was also decent for a while
@@tychobrandsma2929i still use her in diamond lobbies.
Plus we don’t even know what else in his kit has been changed, even just visually, so if they can deliver 1 god every 2 weeks up until they hit the hundred twenty something we have now, plus new items and or new item systems entirely I think people are expecting to much
Granted these past years have been absolutely dog shit in terms of video game releases, at least regarding the highly popular game series/ companies
@TragikDino I think they said they will have 50 gods at launch
Game looking wise is definitely an improvement but it feels like another ow2 situation coming with the skins

exactly. hirez just thinks we’re animals 😂
3:41 they said there’s over 1,600 skins and yes two months per skin and that is Just to unreal 5 specs that’s not the fine tuning included. I’d say I’ve easily bought 20 8,000 gem packages on my account… so the 160,000 gems is gonna last me years and years.
This is honestly so hype. I wonder what other characters like Atlas will look like!
So everyone knows all the gems you spent for the past 10years will be refunded but can only be used to purchase 50% of the cost of smite 2 skins the other 50% you'll have to buy the new currency
As someone who likes clean visuals this looks way too busy for me - Smite is already filled with a lot of visuals but at least they’re not all flashy
The main question is if it will have good or decent matchmaking 😅

Wtf do you mean we're not getting our skins back

jk, this game really does look amazing. Probably going to take quite a bit of getting used to, i've been playing on Smite's Potato graphics for the better part of 5 years now, and the feeling is almost like cleaning your glasses after having them being dirty for months. It's so crisp it's weird, but after you start to realize that it looks better
Still praying for Hestia and Demeter, my goats
Currently the main concern I have is stat transferring. They’ve made mention of badges you’ll get saying how many stars on a god you have and what not, but I hope if they do a more thorough stat transfer since they’ve been able to give everyone’s stats before with the 10 year commemorative videos they sent to out.
That new Ymir wall mechanic sounds dope and I hope they add stuff like that all around for old gods
Another cool thing mentioned is all voice packs will be ne unlocked by default. They really want that immersion of the character so im stoked for that. If they have an unlock all gods pack again I'll likely return then.
So pumped, just hope the playerbase moves over to 2 and it doesn't get split up too bad.
As someone who's spent loads on multiple gem packs over 2 accounts, living free(ish) on the bonus gems feels good.
Im kinda afraid that theyve removed all the things that made smite unique like the relics and gods only having 1 power in favore for a system like league with certain items having actives and and basic attacks and abilities having separate damage types
Yeah those were my favorite differences between smite and league too
my biggest hope for someone whos moved to japan because of the military. is that the player base opens up in japan so i can play on japanese servers and not have to be on 150+ ping
the fact that not everything is transferring over and that it’s improving so much visually that i won’t be able to play it unless i get a new console is unfortunate, bc ppl like me are gonna be more likely to just stop playing when it comes out rather than invest that much money for one game since the new consoles are rather bare when it comes to exclusives imo
So like... is there a real reason to do this? Something besides an aesthetic update that will never matter that much (and indeed might make the game harder to play for a decent number of people) and most likely some cash-grab opportunities? Cause, as it stands, I see no reason to do this that outweighs what it will cost in terms of things like cosmetics not transferring and needing to wait for gods to be ported into a game that, by rights, should take as long to come out as it takes to port the full roster (insofar as it needs to come out at all).
The game engine is very old and sometimes problematic to deal with. Its almost spaghetti code at this point. Not as bad as TF2 spaghetti code tho.
Hopefully console will finally have a functional ui

I hope that the moth man skin ends up getting into Smite 2 if it isnt already in the game
Did Hi-Rez say anything on if you can create some kind of hi-Rez account to transfer your save data from one console to another?
my biggest issue with this is there had stance on not transfering skins accross, they have 2 ways they could have gone about doing it 1 is port of the skins as is and slowly update them over time line 2-4 skin a patch or something or 2 relase the updated skins again 2-4 per patch over time. the other issue is with the cross-platform skins coming with s11 this games been in devlopment for a few years now so why is it that now that they are making skins cross-platform
Disappointing. Now they get to sell me my skins again (50% off is still expensive). And, I got so many free skins and BP in Smite. I'm not mad at HiRez, but I honestly don't plan to do it all over again. Life is too short.

My only concern is will it be able to run on weaker computers
So do I have to re-buy the ultimate god pass?
The idea of a Smite sequal wasnt even on my radar and it looks super cool
Yeah Well, Crossover and t5 skins should be priority for CrossGen only.
for the skin transfered, i wish we would get for exemple thanatos archon for those you had it in smite 1, or all the limited skins(which is not too many)
Within this new patch, will they finally stop people using their music emotes that mutes in game music?
i like to think this adds a sorta new “hype” for when gods release now. they could do pretty cool visual teasers or trailers for them and people will be hypeeee especially if it’s gods we main in smite 1
Transcendence + Book of Thoth + Poly + Hydraa that proc hitting for 2k
So, one thing I didn't understand. If you have the ultimate god pack, do you get all the gods? When they release ofc
That looks fucking amazing, I quit smite around the time charon came out but this MIGHT just get me back to smite, the only complaint I have is that the map is still on a level plain, I really wish they had peaks and troughs in lane and jungle, maybe a few elevations too, granted that would mean reworking a few god kits slightly to allow for use of elevations (fenrir, odin, baccus ) for example but that for me would have been the icing on the cake
Side note as its a whole new game on a new engine does that mean that FINALLY we'll be getting rid of the spaghetti coding?
Everyone seems to have the same sentiments - totally unexpected and very excited. I get why they didn't port all the skins and as someone who has played since alpha for Smite, I feel very much like they're respecting the time and money I've put into the game. Makes me even more interested at going full steam ahead when Smite 2 gets here.
Sounds like the founders pack for smite 2 will let you use 100% of your smite 1 gems
That would be amazing if that’s the case but idk
What happens with ultimate god pass?
haven’t played much since season 5, haven’t been this excited abt a game in a while
This looks great.
Love love love watching your content for years super hype for more content and smite 2!
“Just when I thought I was out…. They pulled me back in”!
I was like damn Inter got some videos to make
