Majdov was World Champion back in 2017 in Budapest and also World Bronze medal in 2019... these are his best achievement.

I love the video, but we'd probably have wars breaking out over not given scores or third shidos😂😢

I guess joining NATO has its benefits! Sisu should translate to judo, for sure.

I'm in the diametrically opposed weight classes but Puumalainen has a beautiful Ko Uchi Gari and as a Seoi guy myself I NEED to learn how to do something like that, congratulations to him!

Oh, nice footage! I love how you started with the gold contest, then follow with how he actually got there. That's brilliant! Thanks for this.

I don't think it is about the others figuring out the georgians because they have always done the same thing and every one in theory knows how to counter it but they are always just so strong that no one can. I think maybe their form wasn't the best because their lightweights lost early and their heavyweights didn't manage to get gold.

Exactly, Georgian traditional style has been that way since judo got introduced to the world circuit. I agree with not being on form, also there were some tactical errors from coaching end, especially 81 and 90 finals, overcautious approach partially.

Awesome commentary for awesome judo. The best techniques are the ones you have trouble figuring out a name for.

All of these massive international federations, bureaucracy, etc… and one dude probably in a small flat with a laptop, has done more to promote the sport.
It would be a travesty if your channel didn’t materialize into some kind of commentating gig. As far as I’m concerned, you’re the official voice of judo right now and years to come if you keep it up.

Totally not relevant, but maybe it'll be interesting or helpful. Swedish 'y' in names like "Nyman" is spelled like "Newman". In fact "ny" in Swedish mean "new", possibly came to English from there.

Paltchiks problem wasn't his face, he suffered a knee injury.
So he wasn't able to do the catwalk.

I like how other judoka are starting to figure out the Georgian "style" of judo and beating them. I am not a fan of Georgian (and neighbouring countries') style of "power" judo. They are relying more on strength than technique., and for me at least, it is "spoiling" the art of judo!
