I have an IHI excavator. Kato owned the branding of it. I have had a wonderful experience dealing with Kato. They have always been super helpful with anything I’ve needed.

Good Information about KATO! I had seen a few but never knew much about them! Once have a Mini Excavator u will never want to be without one again! Especially when u own property!

Izzy's doing a cat-scan on the Kato, and she thinks it says Gato. Crazy donkeys, always finding mischief to get into. I got to use an excavator once while doing a major remodel on an old home. Took down a poured concrete retaining wall and replaced it with a stacked boulder one. Had a lot of fun working that rig. I'll bet it comes in handy for repairing the pond's over-flow that's leaking and keeping the pond from filling all the way. Dam repair at the creek. Not to mention all the hours Dusty will be wanting to put onto it over on his spread. LOL
Never heard of Kato. Daniel, you should have drove the excavator to the house, and walk back to your truck, and haul the utility buggy back home. Can't wait to see what you can do with the Kato! Maybe move some big logs out of the way on your pastures.
I see another covered structure in the future, or maybe another garage for all the machines it takes to run several properties. Also a spot for all of the accessories to attach to each machine. Good purchase for your land, & a good way to teach Houston the safety in operating all of the machines !!!!
Nathan was my first time learning about this brand as well. I've had several midside escavator. did landscaping and homeimprovements. I would love to rent one or do a partner ship for a few months. plenty of small projects. the 35 is a good size to move around.
I recently bought a KATO 35hd with a cab. It's a 2019 but only had 800hrs and I got it for $30k. I love it! Before buying it, I never heard of the brand. Yours is a lot heavier, but I have a Sierra 1500 and a 3.5 ton excavator is all I can safely tow.

I rented kato HD 85 last summer to build a pond. It had plenty of power. The two things I did not like was if you’re setting in the seat the right hand side would get so hot. You couldn’t touch the key. With the AC wide open, it didn’t do much good in that cab. The other was the return vent to the AC is in the floor by your right foot. It does not have a filter on it that I could find and it would pull all the dirt up from the floor and throw it in your face. Other than that, they seem to be good machines. I just bought a Kabota U 48-5.
The number on excavators reflect mostly on weight, so your 60 is a 6 ton, while my Volvo EC55 is a 5 ton. Your friends 35 is most likely a 3 ton machine. Congrats with the new toy! Those are great fun to own and operate. The Kubota engines are also in some Volvo excavators, like mine. A 4-cylinder Kubota diesel at around 47 hp if I remember right, and mine worked great at over 5000 hours use time. Just had issues with clogged fuel filters because of the dust bath they put it through in England, where it was imported from. There is a small fuel filter at the bottom of the tank, that is hard to find, and that got me into a few problems until I found it and could change it.

My brother owns a Kubota excavator and he has a mini brush hog implement that he uses for steep bank/ hillside reach along his driveway and a few places he can’t get the tractor implement into. Also has a pond that he uses the reach brush cutter to mow off the banks.

You can replace the drain on the Pond a millcreek cabin side. If that was the first priority, you can have a full pond by fall for deer season.

A roll of insulated building wire comes in handy for things like keeping a gate closed.

Kato have been around for ages, they have mobile truck mounted cranes.
